I had a wonderful interview at ABS with Roya. Normally I would tend to be a little nervous going on interviews but I felt very comfortable speaking to her. I had an interview with Ariel a few years ago, and she was beyond rude to me. She had me waiting for 45 minutes when I arrived for a scheduled appointment. I see her going in and out of her office talking to her staff and she waves hello to me so I know she sees me. Then when I finally get to sit with her and meet with her for my scheduled interview, she is texting on her phone the entire time. She is not even looking at me and not paying attention to me for a few minutes. Finally she stops texting and asks me a few questions. Then starts to text again and then leaves the room while I am sitting there. She comes back in and then leaves the room again. I finally finished my meeting with her and felt that I have never been treated so rudely. I would never ever go back to her again for any jobs or networking in any way. I had such a great experience with Becca and Arielle from ABS staffing solutions during my job search. Becca who I interacted with frequently during the process, did a fantastic job of matching me with roles that fit my criteria, and even gave feedback on my resume and made sure I was prepped for interviews. Not only that but she went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable and took time to understand how I was feeling at each stage. We debriefed after every interview, and she and Arielle did an excellent job of making sure the communication was flowing properly between myself and my now employer. I was eager to go in for an interview with ABS because of the great reviews. I met with Sharon who was very nice upon meeting her. However, perhaps my qualifications aren't up to par or something because I have not been so lucky with snagging a job or lead for that matter. I even reached back out recently to check on any possible job leads since it has been going on two months since my first meeting. I am still hopeful in the company's ability. read more

I have not had the same experience with Ariel. I am reading the reviews and I am so disappointed. Such a shame. I had submitted my resume to Ariel and never heard from her again. I contacted her two weeks later to determine if they had availability to work with me, or if they were busy I would gladly go elsewhere. I do not believe she would have ever responded to me if I did not reach out to her (strike one). I received a call either same day or the next day. Never received an apology for mistake or oversight (strike two). I spoke to someone and informed her of what I was looking for. I am not an unreasonable person, I understand these things take time. Had not heard from anybody and I reached out AGAIN two weeks later (strike three). I had a really intense, high-risk job with a huge workload that was burning me out. I would have terminate employment immediately but I was holding on to it until I could get the ball rolling with something else. I waited a MONTH for assistance with ABS staffing solutions. Such a huge mistake. (Final nail in the coffin). I called ABS to determine if this is just my experience with them or if this is standard waiting time for all cases. Still not getting even some sliver of an apology, I decided to terminate working with them. Standard customer service, apologize if you/someone else has made a mistake. It goes a long way in potentially mending a relationship with the customer. I waited a month, it was definitely called for. I am not sure who I spoke to yesterday. It may not been a her mistake to apologize for, but it is standard customer service. Simply say, "From what it sounds like, you have not had a favorable experience. I am so sorry for how this must have been for you. Since I am not on your case, I do not know what happened but I want to see how I can help you. If you would allow me to assist you, may I speak to someone here at the office about it and get back to you?". Something along those lines. If you don't know what to say, place the customer on hold and collect your thoughts. Please learn from this. (Last call) Sean later called back even though I told them I did not want a follow up call. He apologized, was very professional, and did his best to mend everything. He is someone I would have wanted to work with. By that point, I was so upset with the experience that I was in tears before the phone call started. I am a professional. I pride myself on my professionalism. Crying on the phone because of my terrible experience is embarrassing/humiliating and not how I want to start a working relationship. Last tip for ABS, if you start off a working relationship poorly, disclose this information to the following person so they are aware and maybe fix what was done, if you had not. A simple call saying, "I know you have been waiting, I just wanted to follow up and say that you have not been forgotten... etc etc etc" would have gone a long way. I do not recommend. read more

Looking for a job in a post-grad world is tough but ABS made the process quick and easy as possible! I submitted my resume and immediately got a response from Emily. I went in for a meeting within the same week and got introduced. Emily suggested a couple options for openings that they had and I was set up for a phone interview within a couple days. After that, I got an in-person interview and landed a job! All in a week and a half! Emily was always there through text or phone call to check in or give advice. After meeting with the recruiter in person and going on my interviews with the hiring Firm I was offered the position. I've worked with so many recruiters at this point that until ABS, no recruiting firm or recruiter stuck out to me and I had the opinion that they were useless. I'm glad that ABS has been able to help the people who have written reviews here but, unfortunately, this did not work out for me at all. Let me start off by stating that I absolutely hate working with staffing agencies. They tend to waste people's time. When looking for a job, I don't like wasting time. That said, I decided to give one more agency a try before completely writing them off. I came across ABS after doing a search on Yelp and seeing the positive reviews. I contacted Ariel and received a response immediately. I met with Anne within the week and was set up on an interview a day or two later. As expected, the position was not what I wanted and I expressed my concern to Ariel and Anne. I was not given sufficient time to look over the job description and make a decision as to whether it was the right fit (even though I had asked Anne for the job description several times). I received the description the evening before the interview. I did not want to go on the interview because the description just was not a match to what I was looking for. After discussing with both Ariel and Anne, I decided to go through the motions and do the interview, just for experience. Needless to say, it wasn't a fit. That was a couple of months ago. To date, I have not heard anything back from either Ariel nor Anne. Once again, a complete waste of time and an annoying experience for me. If staffing agencies just want to sell you whatever they have and not truly try to match people with the right job, why bother? Why the charade? I would like to, just once, feel as though an agency actually listened to what I described would be my perfect job and try to match my skills according to what was discussed instead of sending me to interviews for jobs they just want to fill. Absolutely mediocre! First, let me start by saying this is my first ever negative review on yelp because I much rather say positive things about a business to contribute to its thriving success than be the comment someone very likely may look over and have a change of mind completely. Secondly, to be fair, I do believe because of all the other good reviews based off working with Ariel and other recruiters it might just be my luck. But working with Randy/Randi has been a complete disaster and I foresee no turnout. I can literally count on 1 hand and still have a finger or 2 left the amount of times we spoke including the first interview. Rather then her reaching out to me at fewest once a week to give the feeling shes at LEAST crossed over my file being she is my recruiter, I would have to reach out to her and ask her "hey do you have anything for me yet" which makes me feel so much less of a client receiving a service. I mean really we're all here looking for honest employment and for some of us not being able to find a job already takes a toll. But yet still each time I call in she has no customer service positions available and her attitude is what really seals the deal for me. She isn't pleasant or the least bit forgiving. She has this can't be bothered attitude and even over the phone you can sense it. What she is good at however is gossiping about her fellow co-workers, something I picked up on after the first time meeting with her.. how unprofessional.
