This is a full service opthalmology clinic, not a typical mall optometrist. They do cataract,…read moreglaucoma, and other Lasik/laser treatments, and have surgeons on staff, meaning MDs as opposed to doctors of optometry-- not that optometrists are bad, rather, it's a different skill set. It's a full-service sort of place, and although their personability is sometimes abrupt, it's my estimation they know their discipline. The Abrams Eye Centers have different staff, but they rely on other locations for specialties in my experience. I've been pleased with their work. My four star rating is because I don't have the comparison values to know if it's really five stars. That may sound wishy-washy, but rating clinics is difficult. I get the sense that their staff has high professionalism, and have a great deal of experience, and that's comforting.

I've been a patient of Dr. Wentz for many years now, and he has been fabulous diagnosing several issues with my eyes. Dr. Wentz has performed cataract surgery on both eyes, diagnosed the hole in my retinal, and then referred me to a surgeon in Carmel who resolved the problem. I trust him with my eye care, and if you are looking for a new othomotogologist, then schedule a meet and greet with Dr. Wentz. He his personable, listens well and incredibly throughal. Dr. Wentz's assistant, Lindsay, is very personable, does a thorough job and provides a calming, structured atmosphere. Dr. Wentz's took the time to review my past and present medical history. He explained the test results I had just completed and answered all my questions. He had a good side bed manner and I never felt rushed. My pledge to commit to that philosophy is even more serious in the instance when I received my first exam from the optical professionals at Whitson Vision, with locations on East 86th Street in Indianapolis and at IU West Hospital in Avon (in addition to surgical facilities at 9002 N. Meridian Street in Indy). I recently completed my first appointment with Dr. Doore, an Optometrist who, along with several others, ran a series of tests to ensure that my Type 2 Diabetes was not causing any severe issues with my sight. Each and every individual displayed the finest measure of kindness, compassion and a commitment to concise and easily understandable, plain English doctor-patient communication. This was not my first experience with the Whitson Workforce! My domestic partner has experienced a decades- long case of chronic glaucoma and has benefitted from Dr. Whitson's direct surgical expertise, including two significant procedures that seem to have turned out...well, to be succinct, brilliant!
