After much searching, my husband and I decided upon Above All Catering for our wedding, and we could not be happier with the entire experience. With 76 guests in attendance, the food, service, and professionalism were nothing short of our expectations--and at a very affordable price. We highly recommend scheduling a tasting appointment, as it was a valuable part of the decision process for us and I definitely wanted to wow our guests with the food that we chose. It helped us fine-tune our initial menu and even led to us upgrading from their tri-tip to the braised short ribs, which completely won us over at the tasting. So tender and flavorful--our guests said that was their favorite part of their dinner! Every single item was delicious and beautifully presented as you will see in the photos, and the attention to detail in both flavor and appearance made a big impression for me. We started our planning with Lindsay Vandruff, who was fantastic to work with--friendly, warm, organized, and responsive. She worked closely with us so we could stick to our budget and never pushed us towards making any pricier choices or upgrades. Even after she left the company midway through our planning, the transition to our next coordinator, Danielle Schmidt, was smooth and stress-free. Danielle was a very communicative and ensured that nothing was overlooked in the final stages of planning. The staff on the day of the wedding was just as impressive--attentive, courteous, and incredibly efficient. They managed everything behind the scenes so we could simply enjoy our day. They even brought our food to our during our reception since we were so busy talking to our guests which was very sweet! If you're looking for a catering company that delivers quality, professionalism, and flavors, all at a good price point, Above All Catering would be the choice! We wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone planning any type of special event! read more

This is my second time working with Above All Catering. The first time was in 2018 when we did a style shoot event at Fete the Venue in Costa Mesa along with Wildflower Linen (La Tavola Linen) and I have had their delicious catering experiences when I went to some event/wedding industry events at the Fete! In the past I did love their food station displays from a grazing station swing to a pasta station with a giant cheese wheel and a wooden wall displays of pretzels. This time I was reintroduced to AAC through finding The Bar Caterer. AAC and TBC are partner companies and they are also owned by the same company that owns Fete the Venue. I love coming back to a company that has good memories in my mind and delicious experiences. For two back-to-back events of mine this March -- one was an event with Pacific Chorale at the Lido Theater in Newport Beach and the other a corporate event in Irvine. I was connected to Sales Manager, Danielle Schmidt. Working with her (and TBC's Carlos) was amazing! They go hand in hand. The first time I met Danielle (and Carlos) was at a site visit at Lido Theater and that meeting was so productive and all logistics was all set! Working with AAC felt easy and efficient. Danielle was great at follow ups, responding to questions, fast at emails, and personable. And can I just say -- my first walk-thru meeting was seriously one of the best! It was efficient, effective, and easy! With knowledge and experienced people working together, most events will be successful. Plus at that meeting, my client and I were gifted a surprise and delight from both AAC and TBC. Care packages of food and beverage goodies are always a perk! Those touches truly are memorable. Now on day-of event -- just wow! The lead, staff, and chefs were all on time. It was seamless in terms of setting up, prepping, and the service during the event with guests was impeccable! My two events both had tray pass. I did have some repeats, but I personally loved the Stuffed Mushroom! Second on the Beef Wellington. Sooooo good! Both events had Grazing Stations that encompassed premium cheeses, charcuterie, fruit, and crudite. The only difference were food stations! For the Lido Theater event -- we had a Flatbread Station with a Caprese and BBQ Chicken selection. The BBQ Chicken was of course most popular. The Irvine event had more food stations -- Poke Station, Pasta Station, and Korean BBQ Station. The guests loved the pasta the most. But I personally liked the K-BBQ! The Bulgogi Beef was bomb! All the chefs were so good. The Leads that worked were Jo (at Lido Theater) and Kyle (at Irvine). Both Jo and Kyle were on top of it! So organized and everything was structured perfectly. Anything we needed, they both delivered right away! I absolutely loved working with the entire AAC team! From Danielle (sales manager) to the leads and chefs and the staff -- I was impressed. It was like a well piled machine! And what was the cherry on top was the Leads providing a paper that was like a comment card Q&A. That makes me know that AAC strives to improve and make themselves better. AAC (and TBC) get 5-stars, two thumbs way up, 100%... all of the above! I will definitely refer and will continue working with them. P.S. At the Irvine corporate event -- the Vice Mayor of the City of Irvine popped by and he was raving about the food. I totally passed on AAC's info to him for the City of Irvine to have good food when they need a caterer! *insert heart emoji* read more

We first encountered Above All Catering at an industry breakfast and were pleasantly impressed by their food, presentation, and staff. As invited guests, we were charmed by the visual appeal, quality and unique variety of the pastries, as well as by the attentiveness and professionalism of their staff. Of special note was the coconut chia seed parfait, which we have already attempted to recreate in our kitchen, because it was so amazing! We would definitely hire them for our own events! read more

We had an incredible experience with Above All Catering for our wedding. From the very beginning, the communication was clear, transparent, and professional. They offered a wide variety of great food options to choose from and worked with us to meet all of our budget goals without ever sacrificing quality. On the day of the wedding, everything ran so smoothly. Our guests raved about the passed appetizers during cocktail hour, and dinner service was seamless, so much so that guests went back for seconds. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. We couldn't be happier and highly recommend them! read more

Above All Catering was instrumental in making our wedding a hit, and a huge part of that was thanks to Danielle. She was so communicative, responsive, and really took the time to understand who we are as a couple - making sure the menu reflected that perfectly. The food not only tasted amazing, but felt so us. Our guests are still raving about the hamachi crudo from cocktail hour (so fresh and flavorful!) and the pasta station was such a fun, interactive touch. The cocktails were also no joke - strong and well-balanced, just the way we like them. Service was smooth, professional, and totally stress-free. Multiple people told us it was the best wedding food they've ever had. We couldn't agree more! read more

If you are looking for a caterer, look no further. My Fiancé and I selected Above All as our wedding day caterer and cannot recommend them more. The Above All team was a pleasure to work with from the beginning until the end! Their professionalism and delivery day of made them one the best vendors we worked with. The food & drinks were just as delicious on our wedding day as they were when we did our tasting! Our guests raved about how amazing our menu was and thoroughly enjoyed all the bar offerings we selected. A huge thank you to Danielle, the Sales Manager, who was constantly in communication with us and paid attention to every detail. She went above and beyond for us, ensuring that there were no hiccups or surprises the day of our wedding. She even went as far as to create an adorable bar sign for us listing our signature cocktails! The service Above All provided was truly top notch. From the very beginning, my experience with Above All Catering was top notch! Danielle really worked with me to create a menu that fit my budget and my guests allergies. She was always kind, patient, and communicative. I truly appreciate her assistance with helping to make my girlfriend's birthday party the best one that she's ever had. I also have to give a shoutout to Fernando!! He was our server and bartender for the night, and he was absolutely AMAZING! He came early to assess out the place, then came back right on time! Not only was he punctual, but he was also really kind, funny, and knew how to make a great lemon drop! I was planning a Thanksgiving lunch for my office, but the problem was I was trying to find a company that would serve it the week before Thanksgiving not the actual week of Thanksgiving. I came across this company by recommendation from Facebook and I was not disappointed. They were extremely responsive and I was able to book my entire lunch with an hour of emailing them. We got turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, veggies, salad, rolls, and sugar cookies, and everything was absolutely amazing. I got so many compliments on the food, and the ham and stuffing were probably the best I've ever had. It was fairly priced and delivered and set up on time. I will definitely be using them again! read more

Danielle and her team are always great to work with! I use them often for work events because their customer service, food quality, and presentation are consistently excellent. They never disappoint! For this particular event, I ordered both a continental breakfast and boxed lunches for 280 people. Everything was fresh, beautifully prepared, and delivered right on time. The service was reliable as always, which takes so much stress off event planning. I highly recommend Danielle and her team for any occasion--large or small. They make it easy, delicious, and worry-free every time. read more

Lindsay was easy to work with to place an order and very helpful and friendly (and got my order in with ease, even though it was very last minute). Our order was delivered on time and was complete. However, I had requested white meat instead of dark meat for the skewers and they used dark meat. The overall appearance of the appetizers we received was extremely disappointing. One guest asked if they were from Trader Joe's, because they did look like it and did not seem like they were prepared by a professional catering service. The taste was good overall, but the presentation was subpar and did not look professional like the photos on this page. Unfortunately, the price far exceeded the presentation and quality of what we received. read more

I'm an event planner in OC and worked with Above All Catering two weekends in a row recently, at two separate events (one wedding and one Bat Mitzvah). At both events, we had such a great experience with them! They were professional, friendly, and incredibly easy to work with from start to finish. They arrived on time, got right to work, and were very helpful throughout the entire event. Their communication throughout the process was above and beyond, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free. The food was delicious and affordable for the clients! We truly enjoyed working with them and would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for amazing service and a great team! read more

The catering team was awesome. They were right on top of everything. The guys was very tasty. Would definitely use Above All Catering again.

We booked AAC for our wedding on 11/11/23 as the exclusive caterer offered by Fete the Venue. We had our tasting with them and they gave us multiple choices to try from and they were full portions! We were so full after and everything was delicious. We were VERY happy with ACC on our wedding day, the food was great and the presentation was beautiful. Even when they cut our cake for us it was so neatly placed. My husband and I did not have to get up at any point for food or beverages. A member of their team got us food right away and brought it to our table and would periodically come back to see if we needed seconds or anything to drink. We really appreciated her! We actually got to eat at our wedding! Haha! We did have peace of mind knowing they would accomplish our requests because they work so closely with the venue. So any special requests seemed to flow with ease. Also with booking with them through the venue, they did not charge a service fee. Side Note: We did ask if we would be able to take any leftovers home after the wedding but they said no for health safety reasons. I took away a star because there were a few things we did not find easy when working with AAC. The cooks and waiters were superb but management was where they dropped a few balls. After we booked them I had a hard time getting a response back from them. I even had to have Sarah, the sales manager from Fete the Venue reach out to them to get us some type of response. Lastly we needed to switch our method of payment for one of our scheduled payments, and we provided them with the updated payment with plenty of time, and received a confirmation of the update. Yet on the day of the payment, the wrong form of payment was still processed. When I reached out to see what happened, I was again, left with no response. When writing this review I had to decide the star rating. I did this based off outweighing 1 of 2 things: #1 The long 2 years I had to deal with not being able to have good communication with this company, and #2 having exactly what we asked for on our wedding day. With that being said, I gave them 4 stars because they were not the worst to work with and they did execute the day with flying colors, and our guests and us loved the food and service. read more

We had a fantastic experience with Alicia & her team for our 200+ person wedding at Heritage Park. Alicia was a standout for her flexibility, responsiveness, and professionalism. She worked with us to modify the menu for vegans and assorted food allergies. The menu itself had multiple options so that it wasn't just chicken-in-cream-sauce standard wedding fare. Even so, we made some changes based on Alicia's recommendation and I was extremely happy with the flavor, quality and presentation of the food. I received rave feedback from our guests due to the staff's hospitality and service.
