I always love my visits to About Faces in Timonium! I recently went in for highlights with Madiha, and as always, she did an amazing job. She is so sweet, knowledgeable, and talented. I always get so many compliments on my hair after she does my highlights! The spa is cozy and welcoming, and I love all the little touches like coffee, tea, soda, and my favorite biscuits! They also have a beautiful retail area with great gift ideas. The second floor has a lovely lounge where you can relax, along with wonderful skincare and massage services. They also offer nails and pedicures. I always leave feeling happy and taken care of. I highly recommend About Faces, and especially Madiha! read more

I've been a client of Mila's since her days at Bubbles in the mall. I have difficult hair, but Mila is always able to give me the perfect highlights and cut. She has kept her prices reasonable and I appreciate that. Olympia gives the best shampoos and scalp massages. Another excellent experience at AF Timonium. Everyone is friendly and the space is comfortable. read more

I scheduled an appointment-2 months ahead of the day. I have a card with date/time and I received a call telling me that I missed my appointment the day prior. When I called, I was told there "is nothing I can Do". But I can reschedule you for 2months from today. Poor service, inefficient and quite an odor-filled salon. Do not recommend if you would like to be treated like a decent person. Shame on you! read more

My experiences at about faces have been phenomenal, I used to go for massages and they did top quality work. I had an experience that I needed a refund and the manager went above and beyond to help me, Recently I was there for a great hair cut, everyone was friendly, I strongly recommend this amazing spa. read more

Beth and Wilma, you SAVED your customers LIFE. Long story short, our very private neighbor religiously sees her favorite stylist at About Faces every two weeks and when she didn't show or call to cancel, they went ABOVE AND BEYOND making sure she was okay. If they hadn't intervened or went with their gut feeling that something wasnt right, our poor neighbor would be going into day THREE on the ground, still waiting for help. Idk how else to describe white glove service but please give the beautiful ladies at this salon a huge round of applause. read more

I have been coming to see Cheryl for manicures and pedicures for the last several months and I am always so pleased with how my hands and feet turn out. She's efficient and kind- she uses the best products, leaving me feeling so refreshed with every service. I couldn't recommend her highly enough. Love this salon and the gift area as well. read more

Had an amazing massage here from Matt. Highly recommend. He's very talented. Very intuitive. My friend had a facial. She enjoyed, but seemed to be a hard sell on their products which I am not really down with. It's a weird set up in a kind of business park next to the highway. You have to go up some stairs to second floor that still feels like an office park not really a spa vibe. Still I'd go back just to see Matt and get a killer massage. read more

I have been seeing Cheryl for manicure and pedicure for two years and the services are always amazing. She is always on time. Always makes me feel she is happy to see me. read more

Visited a few months ago and was fortunate to have a massage by Courtney Powell, LMT who was fantastic!! My gggf's and I visited for a Spa Day and it was well worth it. Great choice to come here!! Great clean well decorated environment, quiet private intimate spa area, spacious dressing/ undressing area and comfy massage tables. After undressing, we were placed in this cutesy cafe area where we were offered a generous assortment of snacks/ beverages. I'm very tender skinned and Courtney provided the appropriate pressure without harming/ bruising me. It was literally heaven on earth and I didn't want the experience to end. After services and meeting back up w gggf's, everyone was equally pleased w their services provided. About Faces and Courtney will definitely see me again sooner than later. read more

This is my favorite of the About Faces locations for aestheticians. I haven't had positive experiences at all of the other locations, but all of the aestheticians here have been amazing-- and I've seen four different people for brow tints/waxes. My favorite is definitely Era. I think she's the most knowledgeable about brows and tinting/coloring and I always try to book with her when she's available. I highly recommend going to her for your brow/lash needs. But you can't go wrong with anyone! And the location is super conveniently located near plenty of food stores and other places to run errands nearby! read more

Kelsey did my makeup (and my moms and sisters) for my wedding and she was AMAZING! I have sensitive skin and can only use Jane Iredale products - Kelsey was an absolute genius in how she blended colors, matched tones, etc. And she was fun to be around, a calm kind person which is important for your wedding. I wanted my makeup to feel and look natural but also wanted to look and feel special/enhanced for my wedding and Kelsey nailed it. I highly recommend About Faces for your makeup needs and specifically Kelsey! read more

The anti-stess facial by Mariyah B was divine. She is so kind and did such an amazing job. My skin feels refreshed, and she spent time doing extractions with care. She is very knowledgeable and can recommend products accordingly. I look forward to going to her for more facials and massages. Check-in and check out is a breeze and they have a lounge for you to relax in before or after treatment. read more

I was running late for my 90-minute massage appointment and Matt was waiting at the front desk with the most pleasant smile. When booking a hair appointment, please make sure you do your homework. I received a terrible cut that will take over a year to grow out despite showing detailed photos and having a very detailed conversation about what I wanted. Management did not care about my hair being butchered even though a seasoned stylist reviewed my cut 6 weeks later and stated they had never seen a cut completed so poorly. Good luck. read more

Olga has been my trusted aesthetician at About Faces for many years, and I can't recommend her highly enough! Her expertise spans across skincare, waxing, lash tinting, and so much more. But what truly sets Olga apart is her unwavering dedication to her clients and her genuine passion for the work she does. Today, I had a lash tint appointment with her, and I asked her to focus a little more on the outer corners of my lashes, which tend to be nearly invisible without tinting. When she finished, I was absolutely overjoyed--my lashes looked stunning! Olga has a remarkable ability to anticipate her clients' needs and consistently goes above and beyond to ensure they leave feeling nothing short of thrilled. She's also worked with my older daughter, who, whenever she visits, insists on booking an appointment with Olga. I can't speak highly enough of her, and I wholeheartedly encourage anyone to book a service with her. Trust me, you will not be disappointed! Robin H. read more

I have had three haircuts from three different stylists at this salon and it has been a good experience every time. They run on time, take their time and do a good job. The stylists do try to sell you the products but they're not pushy and often just recommend them. The basic haircut is also reasonably priced. It's been a good experience overall. read more

I had a mixed experience at About Faces, but left feeling great which is what matters most in the end. I came here with a friend for her birthday and we got a package that included a massage, facial and pedi. The massage: Hers was great. Mine was OK. My masseuse was obviously very knowledgeable in his field and could immediately tell my most tight areas and issues in my body. However, he spent much more time giving me lessons on these issues than actually fixing them. Half the time he fiddled with laying hot cloths with essential oils on me (which felt great, don't get me wrong). When he did massage it was awesome, he stated I needed much more than an hour. I agreed with that, but if he had cut down the chat and hot cloth time I think I would have come out of it much better. I usually get a monthly massage and scheduled another immediately for just two weeks later. The facial: My friend's facial was great, she fell right asleep. Her only complaint is her esthetician said all of two words to her. My facial was amazing as well and I loved my esthetician's personality. She did speak with me, but only when needed or I prompted conversation. I found myself dozing often as well and left absolutely glowing. This was my favorite part of the spa day! The pedi: Our gals were awesome and we enjoyed great conversation! The spa pedicure was relaxing, and I enjoyed the massage chairs as well. My toes look great and are still going strong! The service: This was weird to me. When we first arrived we were directed upstairs to wait for our massages. There was no admin or anyone there so we sat around chatting in these random chairs in hallways waiting for someone to acknowledge us. That eventually was our masseuses. After the massages we went to the spa lounge and were greeted a short while later for our facials. Afterwards, we went downstairs for our pedis. Someone was finishing up so we cashed out while we waited. We both wished to buy some of the lotions used during our facials and with our package we were supposed to get $20 off a product. Key word, supposed to. The gal at the checkout stated that was a deal only for Christmas. We had booked in January, so stated how could that be true. In addition, she stated she didn't have a code to scan to give us the discount and would have to have a manager do that. Not once did she offer to get than manager. So needless to say we didn't purchase our items and they lost out on a sale. We didn't want to ruin all that feel good spa zen by arguing over it. It was a great spa day spent with a friend, but the experience wasn't that amazing that I'd be back specifically to this location. read more

I called this place on a Saturday. Finished work early and decided maybe I'll get a facial. Well when I called, Julie placed me on hold for 5 minutes. Then when she finally got me on the phone I started to ask her about the different facials and what they do during the facial she quickly rushed me off the phone and told me I can look it up online. Julie your unprofessional and just rude. What if I didn't have the internet or a way to look it up online. I've also never been to About Faces and I sure won't be spending my money there either. read more

I recently went for an hour massage, and an hour facial at about faces. Prior to me going. I've read the reviews and had mixed feelings about going. This leads me to making this review today: my experience at about faces from the time I walked through the door until the time I left was nothing short of amazing. They greeted me at the door, Everybody was so kind and my massage and facial was great . They were very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions and I was so relaxed! if anyone is thinking about going, go and I pray that your experience was great as mine. read more

I went in for a last minute facial. It was just okay. My skin was desperate for some hydration. The girl who gave me a facial was very physically weak during the massage part of the facial. I asked for as much pressure as possible and it felt like nothing. Also I feel like she didn't look that intensely into my extractions. It was just very mediocre. Not bad but not great. It but pricey for what you get. read more

My daughter came in this morning to get her nails done before homecoming, it was the absolute worst experience she's ever had at a professional establishment. They need to take their license away it was absolutely awful the job they did for her. The artist cut her cuticles and said her " skin was sensitive ". RIDICULOUS!!! Never come in to get your nails done here unless you want to be disappointed. Lumpy, uneven just all around AWFUL!! read more

Dana did such an amazing job on my hair. I was so frustrated & upset walking in because I needed a color fix, I had spent countless amounts of time and money and never getting the correct color I wanted. I felt instantly calmer having my hair in her hands! Highly recommend her for a color service read more

Was excited to arrive 5 minutes early for my 6:15pm pedicure. The receptionist was superb! Pleasant and welcoming! She checked me in and walked me back to pick a polish when a technician barks at her that she has someone else before me that she has not started yet? Wait what? The receptionist looked incredibly embarrassed especially since this was my first visit. The receptionist confirmed my appointment was at 6:15 and apologized that the tech would be at least 30 minutes late. Sorry they lost a client that never even received the $60 spa pedicure she was excited to pay for! read more

Definitely not worth the money. The receptionist called me at 4:20pm asking me to come in early at 4:45 for my 5:15 appointment. I left work early and got there at 4:45 and was taken back to the nail part. The person who did my nails was still working on someone when I got there and was working on the woman until at least 5:00. So why would the receptionist tell me to get there at 4:45? They also don't tell you that it's $25 to take off your nail polish, so my dip manicure costed $85. I also scheduled to get my eyebrows done. My manicure went over the scheduled time, so I had to wait an additional 25 minutes to get my eyebrows done since the woman who did my eyebrows took someone else. None of what happened was the person who did my manicure fault or the person who waxed my eyebrows. It seems to be just poor scheduling. I won't be back. read more

SHOUTOUT: Santiago is the most amazing masseuse ive ever had. He understands each of his clients so well just upon meeting you. Like I prefer to not talk during the massage and he got that right away. He doesn't treat you like a client to merely get done but rather a canvas for his art. Never been disappointed with him. I recommend the 1 hour deep tissue/custom massage with him. read more

I rarely leave reviews but this experience warranted one! I saw Yulia at the Timonium location for the first time yesterday and she was INCREDIBLE. I Took my daughter to about Faces Day Spa in Timonium a couple of weeks ago for her first facial. When we arrived to the Spa, we were greeted by employees with positive attitudes who obviously love their jobs. We were escorted upstairs to complete paperwork for her services. Our wait time for her services to begin was less than five minutes. Kelsey, her aesthetician was sweet and excited to be working with my DD. I was directed to a lovely, sunny waiting room where I was poured a glass of wine and offered cookies and snacks. When my daughter's services were over she walked in the room glowing, a smile beaming from ear to ear. Kelsey was amazing and provided skincare suggestions and sample products for ongoing skin care opportunities. We will be going back again for myself as well as my DD and will ask specifically for Kelsey when we do! read more

Booked a one-hour deep-tissue massage with Matt; first time for me at this location. The woman at the front desk greeted me professionally and showed me to the spa waiting area, where there was dim light and water available. Matt greeted me right on time and showed me to the massage room nearby. He asked about any particular problems areas that might need work, then explained the areas the massage would target and in what order, before leaving me to disrobe and lie under the sheet and blanket. The massage itself was amazing. He focused on my lower back pain while making sure to target all areas promised at the outset (and helping me discover and alleviate other aches I didn't realize I had!). Room was quiet and cool with music playing quietly. I felt incredible by the end. Afterward Matt asked me what worked and if he should make any adjustments next time. He listened carefully, led me downstairs to the cashier, and thanked me for the opportunity to work on me. Just fantastic. I'll be back. read more

Whats that you say? You're a fashionable but busy lady with little patience for high-maintenance haircuts? Funny story, so am I. I was epically unsatisfied with hair cuts in Baltimore until I met Jenn Cubbage-McCrimminon and learned she works at About Faces in Timonium. You should know it took me years to find a great place to get my thick, unruly locks groomed. Half my dense collection of tresses are curly and the other half straight, making good looking, natural, low-maintenance hair in the swamp-air of Greater Baltimore more than improbable. I walked into the salon and told Jenn, "O hai. So, I'm a tomboy, and spend most of my time in front of books and a laptop, but I just want to do something nice (and pretty!) for myself so please make me look hot... and don't take too much off... and I don't want to have to always blow-dry ...and no I don't use product!" ... you don't need to be a stylist to notice the ridiculous nature of this request. Needless to say, thanks to regular visits and shape-ups with Jenn, I've gone through 4 major re-styles in the past 3 years. Jenn gave me The Thick Bangs cut more than three months before it became The Great Hair Trend for Fashionistas of 2008. Right now, I'm growing those bangs out and with the help of the occasional face-framing braid and a great cut, its not nearly as annoying as I thought it would be. Kudos, Jenn (if you're reading this). I get compliments on my hair on a weekly basis, and I have you to thank for it. PS- Jenn is highly trained with a resume longer than my thesis, so I recommend giving the salon a call and asking about her! And no, I wouldn't mind if you dropped my name. PPS- Oh yeah, and the salon itself is clean, relatively quiet and provides all the usual accoutrements like drinks, make-up, massages, etc. And they make you turn your cellphone off if you're being a Chatty Cathy.... very nice :) read more

I recently received the worst hair service I have ever experienced during my visit to About Faces for a color. Either my colorist, Laura, didn't listen to my requests, or we had a misunderstanding, but my color was so bad I had to go back for a re-do. The second time around was even worse. I was hoping to have my brassy red color muted down to a natural looking brown, but what I got was grey hair. I left the salon after 4 hours of "fixing" and had to go straight to the drug store to buy a do-it-yourself kit. They were nice enough to comp the service, but I DID have to pay for a $30 "trim" Laura pushed on me and which I was under the impression was going to be a favor. I have seen great work done by the colorists here, but at their hefty price tag ($145 for "highlights") and tendency to disappoint, why bother? read more

I decided to treat my boyfriend to a spa day... and of course I treated myself because... why wouldn't I?! I will forever sing the praises of Jacqueline. She is very attentive and she speaks in a very soothing voice. Whenever I return, I will make sure I book her as my masseuse!! For Facials, Stefini knows. her. stuff. My boyfriend raved about her all the way home about how thorough she was. I had Emily and she was also informative. They both were very friendly and eager to offer suggestions for at home remedies. We received our manis and pedis from the wonderful ladies Yvette and Alexis. We will definitely return to them as their service was excellent. They, too, offered suggestions as to tools to buy for home maintenance. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised that I wasn't being solicited to buy their products :) read more
