I would give a negative star if Iit was available! I hate dealing with this credit union . They are horrible everytime either I orr my husband goes to make a mortgage payment its always something. This is the third time that I made a payment and they have sent a letter saying that I didn't when THEY HAVE CLEARLY CASHED MY CHECK! The teller put the deposit ALL ON THE PRINCIPAL. Train your tellers to do their job correctly. My recommendation is to NEVER USE ABOUND CREDIT UNION! LOOK ING TO REFINANCE SO I CAN RUN FROM ABOUND CREDIT UNION! read more

I was a member of Abound Credit Union for over 14 years while living in Kentucky. When my husband and I relocated to Michigan in 2022, we chose to continue banking with Abound because we trusted them. We relied on mobile banking to manage our finances remotely, confident in the relationship we had built. That trust has been shattered in 2025. After 17 years with Abound Credit Union--I am ending my relationship with them. This year, they unexpectedly reversed a legitimate mobile deposit without warning, made my account delinquent, and refused to provide documentation. I relied on that money to pay bills. When I reached out, they responded with unclear reasons, provided no opportunity for escalation, and accepted no responsibility. Unfortunately, this was not an isolated incident. Previously, this year, they withdrew funds from my savings without notice to cover a joint account and froze my credit card over a shortfall of less than $10--again, without informing me. That freeze led to a declined transaction in public, causing embarrassment. On November 4, 2025, I deposited an escrow refund check using mobile deposit. The deposit was approved and credited on November 5. Between November 5-8, Abound placed a check hold (for less than the original deposit) without stating the reason or duration. On November 8, I spoke with a supervisor who released the hold, and I confirmed the funds were available, so I paid my bills. But on November 10, Abound reversed the full deposit, debiting my account and sending it into delinquency. I contacted Abound and was told that Chase Bank rejected the check as "altered/fictitious." When I asked for proof, staff (Jayvon, Ashley, Tina) said they couldn't provide documents or let me speak to the responsible department. Ashley mentioned that I would receive a notice via mail within 7-10 business days--an unacceptable delay given the immediate impact of harm. Ashley later emailed me information but didn't include the returned check image. Despite repeated requests to escalate, I wasn't allowed to contact senior leadership and was redirected to call center supervisors. The sender has since verified the check's validity and agreed to reissue it. While I eventually received the returned check image with the code "ALTER/FICT," Abound failed to inform me within one business day of receiving notice, as required by Regulation CC. I only found out about the reversal by checking my own account. Abound reliance on delayed mail and refusal to provide documentation from the paying bank demonstrated a lack of transparency and regulatory compliance. Chase Bank, as the payor, can return checks it suspects are altered or fictitious. However, Mr. Cooper has since affirmed the check's validity. Abound, as the depository institution, was responsible for acting in good faith and providing timely, documented notice, which they did not do. This situation goes beyond one returned check--it highlights a broader pattern of neglecting members, poor transparency, and failure to adhere to federal regulations. Between August and October 2025, Abound withdrew money from my personal savings account to cover insufficient funds in a joint account shared with my daughter--without prior notice or authorization. During this period, my credit card was frozen due to a minor payment shortfall under $10, because I couldn't find the statement. Abound didn't notify me about the shortfall or offer to transfer the balance from my other accounts; instead, they froze my card, leading to a declined transaction at a store. These actions caused embarrassment, financial disruption, and reveal a lack of member support and transparency. I am pretty certain that the check was rejected for image quality issues rather than it being altered or fictitious, a mere assertion of alteration, without evidence, does not satisfy the duty of ordinary care owed by the depository bank which would be Abound. read more

Terrible remote service. In building experience is fine, but remote usage is terrible. Rejected remote deposits with no notification. Lost check order somehow, so I need a new checking account number. read more

I heard that Abound had good interest rates for car loans so we refinanced our car with them. We got our loan on June 26,2025, they supposedly sent out the payoff check to Truist on the 27th..Truist did not receive that check until July 16th at 3:15 pm. Hmmm...that's 3 weeks! I know the mail can be slow but damn, 3 weeks! Now we have to pay a $330.00 interest payment to Truist because they didn't get the check in time. The ladies named Ashley and Kelly out the Fort Knox office kept making excuses that it wasn't their fault that it took 3 weeks and they refused to give us an extension to make our first payment (since we have to pay $330 to Truist!) read more

I just wanted to take a moment and brag on Abound and their staff member, Matt. Abound Credit Union has been my bank for years, and no matter what location I go to the staff are always super helpful and kind. A few weeks ago on the way to work I had gotten a flat tire. I was in the parking lot trying, and failing to put on a spare when a staff member asked if I could use assistance, and she sent Matt! Not only was he super friendly and personable, but he managed to change my tire at the speed of light. I believe Matt reflects the attributes that Abound Credit Union strives to show. Not only does he work for this community, but also stepped up and shows he cares about this community as well. read more

This credit union is joke! I paid off my car with them a month ago and they said they mailed out my title at the end of August. I called 6 or 7 times trying to find it what happened. They basically just blamed it on the USPS for losing it. I never had this happen in over 40 years of deal with financial institutions. They pretty much didn't care or responsibility and blamed it all on USPS. Now I have to wait 4 weeks to get a new title. read more

This institution changed from Fort Knox Federal Credit Union to Abound Credit Union. They not only had a name change, but the great customer service under Fort Knox Federal Credit Union changed to non-existent under Abound. It took over a month for them to link all my accounts together! I kept sending them messages and they just kept me bouncing around. I was told I could go in to the institution and they would do it for me on-site. Not true! When I went in, I was told they were swamped; I would have to send them another message. Also I had a new debit card but when I tried to get money from the ATM, it said my card was expired. I went in to the Credit Union building, and they resolved my issue but why did that even happen? Their focus is not on customer service. Then I deposited a cashier's check (mind you, that's just like cash!) and they put my money on hold! It was resolved by the next morning, but I was furious to say the least. That check needed to be cleared bc it was a down payment on a large purchase. Customer Service is not much more than lip service. They smile and say they love you, but it is difficult and cumbersome to get a problem resolved and you have to set yourself on fire to get anything done. IF you can get anyone on the phone they are confused by even a simple request and incompetent at solving any issue. The website is horrible! The old one was bad but the new one is even worse. The phone app has gone from worse to useless. Their ATM cards will randomly turn off or get locked. Have fun trying to get one turned back on. I would rather have a tooth pulled that deal with this business again. read more

Absolutely the WORST place I have ever banked. I'm currently in the process of transferring funds. Had a situation where I needed to make a payment and they straight up will not allow me to pay the bill. Just keep getting the run around. If this bank is worth anything at all then corporate needs to do a clean out the workers in the bank on Kelly Drive. (Now with this being said I went to the bank across town whom is also Abound in the Walmart and would you know they allowed me to pay my bill.) So not only bad service at Kelly Drive, but then one of the employees spit an attitude with me on the way out the door. Mind you I'm also a military vet and this used to be FORT KNOX CREDIT UNION. I will also be making a few of my military calls to have this bank listed as non friendly towards the military. read more
