I went through the drive thru for the first time recently to see what Abner's was all about. I was really surprised. Y'all, it's good! Like their bread has to have some type of secret formula because it's amazing! Fried chicken strips were seasoned well and hot and their honey mustard tasted home made. (Don't know if it is, and I don't want to know) I've been back twice since then and got tenders and a grilled chicken fajita. Both freshly made again. Both good. read more

I've been to this Abners location for many years. In the past it has been a very good place to have lunch or dinner. The food was always good and the service excellent. However in recent years the level of service has plummeted to a new low. Do not and I mean do not think that drive through is going to get you your meal anytime soon. It is the worst experience ever. There is no need to even have a drive through managed the way this one is managed. My most recent experience left me sitting there for 20 minutes after I had already paid for my meal! The level of mismanagement required for this type of pitiful service is unbelievable. While the food quality remains the same as it was years ago, the service causes me to decide never to go back. I would rather drive to Flowood and go to one of the other chicken places than sit in that drive through ever again. read more

Food is good. We have had just about everything on the menu and have always been pleased. Service ok the store has always been great! I'm giving a 3 star review based on the fact that the last 4 times that I've orders food to go, we have either been missing an entire meal, had missing sides, or sauces that were ordered weren't put in the bags. Calling to inform them always feels like an interrogation. Sadly, I've had to put notes on Waitr orders to check the order throughly because we can't expect it to be correct. How hard can it actually be to check an order before you bag it? Defeats the purpose or ordering to go if I have to make a second trip to the store to get something that I ordered that was left out. read more

Food is okay but chicken is very dry. Their wraps are decent though. You will wait a pretty long time though for your food.

Had each variety of taco and grilled nugs. Aside from the wait, everything was solid.

Food quality has gone down. I was very disappointed with my meal tonight. The fries seems as if they were half done (mostly soggy), and the rest of my meal seemed thrown together. I'm sure overtime, the workers just can care less. read more

I used to eat at Abner's multiple times a week back in my college glory days in Oxford...but those were the good times before they became a chain and everything was still homemade. For several years, I could tell service and quality suffered during their expansion, but it has significantly improved in the last few years. Their prices to me seem a little more expensive than the Zaxby's and Cane's of the world, but I think you get a little more food. I also like the fact that you can get grilled strips and wraps here if you want to mix it up. I usually do a half/half order of grilled and fried strips. Today, I got the hungry lush, to share, and its plenty for two not that hungry people at lunch. Also, tasted a bite of the grilled chicked ceaser wrap and it was pretty good too. Service was pretty fast, food was decently good. I just remember how those marinated grilled tenders used to be with homemade Abner's sauce. Still a good overall experience. I'd give it 3.5 and go there again. read more

I hate to write bad reviews and I will say, I have had several good visits and good food in the past....but last week my take out grilled chicken strips were not even cooked in the middle. I thought, not the end of the world and I just threw them in the microwave for a bit...then on my last tender I bit into something hard. There was a one inch bone in the chicken strip. If I had broken a tooth, they'd have heard about it. I used to drive out of my way to get chicken there, even when I knew the drive thru lane would take forever...but no more. I wish them well and hope they improve, but I don't think I will be dining there anymore :( read more

When I want chicken tenders this is the first place I think of. I love the grilled and fried chicken tenders. The pasta salad is like a party in your mouth and it has grilled chicken in it as well. I also like their cookies and garlic Parmesan wings. I've been coming here for 10 years and I've never had a bad experience. read more

I do enjoy Abner's, the only reason i don't give them five stars. The service time is slower than any other location I have been to. I absolutely love the grilled chicken tenders. The flavor is amazing, better than the fried, in my opinion. We usually stick to tenders when we go. If it isn't broken don't fix it! Faster service would be nicer. I have called in orders and still had to wait in the pick up window after 20-25 minutes of ordering. read more

Just left and was absolutely frustrated the way they handled the situation. I went to the drive thru and I ordered "10 chicken tenders" I get to the window and she thought I ordered just two.. at that point she already swiped my card down for $6. I told her that I told her 10 at the window and at that moment is where everything was messed up. She added $10 to my bill for an 8 count to go with the 2 count that she already had marked on my bill. I didn't know this until I checked my bank account because she never gave me a receipt.. and my total ended up being $18 for 10 tenders and a drink.... just terrible service read more

I love Abners, been to locations all over Mississippi. This one is no different in the quality if their food. However they're customer service is incredibly slow, nice as the staff may be; the wait time is significantly slower than any of their other locations. read more

Usually where I go go chicken tenders. Always tasty and never disappoints. Great sweat tea. A little pricey but competitive with everyone else. Used to go to the one in Starkville all the time. I've been going to this one since they opened too. Usually very fast with my order too. read more

I love their grilled chicken and their sweet potato fries rock. I am not a fan of their fried tenders. My hubbie recently tried their pasta Alfredo and it was nice. The quesadilla is made with hot sauce so that is funky! They need to just go buy a pico or salsa to serve with that. read more

I have to update my review of this place because the customer service has become so much better! I don't know if there is new management or what, but the staff there on Thursday night were excellent. Worst experience I've had in a restaurant in some time. Went through the drive thru and dat for 5 mins without a person answering. Went inside waiting 10 mins before someone put my order in. Many people ordered after I did and they received their food way before I did. Waited 45 mins for 3 chicken strips... What a disaster they have for management. read more

Worst....when I first started going here to the Abner's in Brandon, it was good. This place has gone down hill and the workers do not care. The last couple of times, I have had something wrong or missing from my order. Today was the last day that I spend my money at this dump. Go to any other chicken place in Brandon. I grew so fond of Abner's in college and frequent this location since I live in nearby flowood. However, after the experience my wife and I just had we probably won't be back. We just stood in line for 15 minutes while the one family ahead of us was being taken care of. The girl in front of us took their order and talked to them and waited until it was fulfilled before taking any other orders. She obviously knew them and didn't care that we were waiting to order. When the people finally got their order, she proceeded to look at iPhone pictures that the customers had instead of helping us. Won't be back.
