    The friendliest pony and I

my mother and I had the best experience, family owned farm and the family is wonderful and welcoming. what a cool sensory experience all the animal nosy feel surreal, the animals were all friendly as well, we got up close and personal. beautiful land where the animals are treated with great care, will definitely be back.

Abma's Farm is a great family-friendly spot with lots to explore--from a $5 petting zoo to a produce and meat market, bakery, and ready-to-go meals. The lower level has a charming floral and garden center, but most of the action is up top, where there's plenty of parking. We loved visiting the animals, though some of the signs felt a bit aggressive--maybe due to past carrot incidents? Overall, a fun experience I'd come back for, but the cookies were a miss. The coconut pecan ones tasted a bit old.

I've been coming here since my sons were little and now with my grandchildren. A great experience any time of the year but especially pumpkin picking. Do not miss the farm animals or the cider donuts!

We love the sweet little petting zoo here! It's well maintained, with clean and spacious enclosures for the animals - homes that are adorably and lovingly constructed, like the "three little pigs" pens, or the "golden goat bridge" leading to a gazebo. There are goats and goat babies, alpacas, bunnies, chickies, ducks, cows, and ponies. You can buy a bucket of pellets ($8 but refillable for $3) or carrot tops to feed some of the animals. While here I like to pick up some farm fresh eggs and baked goods. The carrot cake is amazing! So moist and delicious. The market has fresh produce, groceries, cider donuts, coffee, plants and herbs, prepared foods, seasonal gifts & goods, and more.

It was my 1st time at the Farm. Their pick your own bouquet event was a great way to start the day. There was a beautiful, healthy, and vast selection of flowers in the field. Bring your own cutting shears, gloves & wear closed shoes as you're walking in between rows of plantings. The young lady at check-in was helpful & knowledgeable. It was a gorgeous morning. I highly recommend this activity to brighten up your day.

9/23/23: We stopped in Abma's. Abma's has a wonderful variety of plants, vegetables and baked goods. The farm has 2 Levels: - Main Level - Wonderful plants and containers. - Upper Level- Baked goods, Vegetables, Tomasello Vineyards Wine Bar and Petting Zoo. You can either walk up or drive to the upper level. We did purchase a bag of cider donuts. They were good, but a little too sweet for my taste. In addition, we did stop in Tomasello Wine bar to sample a flight. Portajohns are the only bathroom facilities. Surprisingly, they were very clean. Parking is available on the lower and upper levels at Abma's Farm.

I took my family here because it was a local 10 minute drive away. We were blown away with the great service. The must see is the hayride that you can go on in the fall. My kid loved the big tractor. The driver was humorous and explained safety well. The ride takes you through the farm and drops you off at a corn maze. We took the kid's version which was a straight stretch through the corn. When you exit, you are welcomed by a giant pumpkin patch. Bring cash if you want to buy one. We bought small gourds. Later, we visited the petting zoo and it was the highlight of my kid's visit, especially seeing the piglet nursery. I'm pleased to know that there is a local farm store so close to home.

If you're looking for a family friendly activity -- Abma's Farm has a wide range of activities to keep little humans (and adults alike) occupied and happy. Abma's Farm includes a local market, winery, greenhouse, seasonal picking options (U-pick) and mini zoo. The farm was one of the more open and quaint farms I've seen in NJ. The layout is easy to follow, with signs posted throughout directing you to where you need to go. My favorite area was the market that included fresh produce, honey, baked goodies and flowers -- my son enjoyed the zoo (the oinking pigs especially!). Sadly the alpacas were not there when we visited. Admission for under 2 year olds are free at the zoo, while adults will run you $5.50/each when booking online. It's $7/each at the door (cash only). If it's a busy day, you may be turned away, so booking in advance is recommended. The day we went wasn't crowded -- we had ample time to spend with the animals, feed them and take pictures. You can buy crackers, feed and carrot tops to give the animals at the admission window and market. Many have signs posted that certain animals bite, so beware if you have little ones. Stroller friendly and plenty of parking spread through various lots. Would love to return for a wine tasting at the winery on-site and U-pick for berries, flowers and pumpkins. A return visit is in order! P.S. Loved their prepared foods. Beef empanadas and blueberry crumb cake were delicious! Easy enough to heat at home!

What an absolutely delightful place! We've been driving 30-45 min for this type of place for years and it's so nice to finally have something local. It's so clean and fresh feeling for a farm. The animals are well kept and everything is organized and labeled well. The hours are also great. I brought my son this week on a Tuesday afternoon after school for a little mommy/son date. The animals are so animated and friendly. The concept of buying the bucket and bringing it back for refills is excellent. We loved seeing the fresh baby pigs! Also the interactive barn where you can pretend milk a cow, the sensory toys, and corn area is so thoughtful. Also so many great pic opportunities! Also grandparent day is such a gem of an idea. Just so impressed! Telling everyone! We'll be back asap.

Went here for my daughter's first birthday and she throughly enjoyed the entire experience! A stroller friendly farm with goats, pigs, rabbits, sheep, alpacas, pony and donkey. The staff were welcoming and the checkin was very easy (online booking only). Definitely recommend the bucket feeding if you have a baby or toddler. All animals were cute and friendly - my daughter started gossiping with the goats! Will definitely come back again.

Ask the Community - Abma's Farm

I have an adult daughter who uses a walker. Are these areas wheelchair/walker accessable?

I remember it is a little hilly but I don't think there were steps. You should call them to verify

    Can you bring a stroller?

Hello, yes our farm is stroller friendly. If you are taking the hayride to the pumpkin patch, a stroller is not allowed on but you may park it in the loading area.

Is this a dog friendly place?

Hi Cher! Unfortunately we do not allow animals on the premises except for service animals.

I hear it can…read moreget crowded on the weekends, but on Thursday when we arrived a little before noon, it wasn't bad. They had a steady stream of newcomers but not too crowded. It was fairly easy to find though going there, my map told me to go down a treacherous gravel road which I wasn't terribly fond of. They have a moderately sized parking lot and you'll see this large, red barn. That's where you get your goodies (there's often a line) and where their store is. We stopped by for a treat first. They sell ice cream, cider floats, and what is a "TikTok famous" coffee float with donut. We got: Cider ($4) - I didn't actually drink this. I got it for my kid with food allergies. He wanted ice cream but they do not know if the ice cream they use contains eggs or not so we played it safe. My kid thought it was okay but finally finished it later. He typically prefers regular apple juice. Cider float with donut - you have a choice of no donut for $2 less. It's like a root beer float but with cider instead of root beer, black and orange sprinkles around the time of the cup, whipped cream, and a powdered cider donut over it all. I shared this with my daughter. That donut was delicious! Warm, tender, and crisp on the outside. The drink was great! I do wish it came with a spoon because it got difficult finishing the last of it. Warning: if you have one of these, the bees are coming for you. They use some sort of caramel-like sauce to get the sprinkles to stick. Overall, quite good. Maple cider donut ($3): my sister got this and she said it was amazing, but she said she thought $3 was a bit much (the unglazed donuts are $1.25 each). She's vegan, so didn't partake in the float, but she also wasn't going to ask if there's milk in the donut. If you're getting only donuts, they are purchased in the store. They have tables and chairs nearby for you to picnic and enjoy your treats. Going through the gates, there was a table but they were busy with other people so we walked right in. There is no entrance fee, which was nice. You go through the apple orchard first. It seems like most of the apples have been picked through, though there are a lot of developing apples. Some of the nicer ones were way too tall for us; they don't provide ladders. We only managed to find one that looked nice. At the end, there used to be a sunflower field and the corn maze. It's epic but you don't know how formidable until you're past the point of return and realize it's not a kids maze. We were in there for a while! Even met other kids that thought they'd be lost forever. The corn stalks are taller than a human and they're pretty dense so you can't look over or through them. It's a true maze and I was impressed. I wish they would provide a paper maze puzzle of the corn maze because I'm so curious how it is from above. Lots of dead ends. What I can say is don't lose hope. You'll get there! (When we finally found the exit, it was almost like a dream because we had been staring at corn for so long.) In hindsight, it was good we ate something first. Once done, we explored the sunflowers and saw the pumpkin patch. As we headed out, we went to pay for our lone apple and we discovered THE CORN MAZE IS NOT FREE. It's $10 per adult and $5 per kid. They charged us $1 for the single apple. I guess they work on the honor system? I didn't mind much because that maze clearly took planning. Before we left, we visited the store full of baked goodies. I got a few cider donuts, a dumpling, and a piece of crumb cake because they just brought out a fresh tray. Plus a lattice harvest pie. The pies with crumble aren't vegan, but the lattice pies are made of vegetable shortening. Restrooms! They have a row of port-a-potties by the parking lot. They're actually the cleanest ones I've been to before. No sinks but they do have a dispenser of antibacterial hand gel. The openings are a bit large so if your kid needs to use the toilets, hold onto them. Overall, it was quite enjoyable and I definitely think everyone should go through a corn maze of this caliber at least once in their life. The apple pickings were sparse but at least you get delicious floats and donuts! Note: they have gluten free goodies in the store but they are nut based (almond flour). They also had one gluten free-vegan item.

There wasnt any pumpkin left in the field to pick and the apples were not event there on the trees. I would definitely have to say hand down to the cute little store - there was a bakery side and oh my gosh the donuts , the cookies and the Tik Tok famous drink was out of this world. So the 2 hour trip was definitely worth the drive. The service was okay the individuals behind the counter to order the Tik Tok drink had a bit of a attitude when I was asking about questions. Just stay patient. Other then that I would highly recommend coming here and trying a piece of all of there different donuts and cookies are soo soo good. They even had a pumpkin cider donut which I never had before. Don't forget to stop by and check them out.

We went here on a random Wednesday afternoon so we basically had the orchard to ourselves. The first parking lot you see is for their store, you have to keep driving up for the u-pick orchard. There you check in to pay your admission fee, get your wristband, and get your apple picking bag(s). They give you a map where the ripe apples are highlighted for you. My favorite apples were the honeycrisp and snap dragons. They grow vegetables too but honestly we didn't explore the orchard that much (it was huge) so the only other thing I picked besides apples was a tomato, which I felt like was pretty difficult to find a good one. I handed out the apples to other friends and colleagues and they all liked them! There's something different about picking the apple straight off the tree than the apples you would normally just buy at a grocery store. It's a lot crispier when you pick them yourself! The store has apple cider doughnuts! Now being that I am a Californian where we don't have this apple picking culture, I was wondering what all the hype around apple cider doughnuts was about. NOW I GET IT they're so good! Unfortunately since we went on a weekday the doughnuts weren't fresh (they make them fresh on the weekends) so some of them were stale, but most were still good. It's honestly more of a cake than a doughnut, but so good! The doughnuts are self serve towards the back. The store also had a cat on the prowl haha We ended up not even having time to visit the petting zoo, but overall I think my colleagues had a good time here and I would recommend this orchard for anyone trying to have a no frills apple picking experience. I believe there was like a building restroom closer to the store and port o potties closer to the u-pick orchard.

What do you get when you combine a spiritually invigorating and emotionally detoxifying yoga class…read morewith the therapeutic antics of several Nigerian Dwarf Goats eager to warm your heart and bring out the best in you...??? You get something called Goat Yoga, the new, brilliant and magical trend in yoga across the country. I admittedly do not engage in a yoga practice, although I do make it a point to connect meditationally with God each day in prayer, so I am not a stranger to the power of meditative practice. I have also been a lover of all creatures great and small and a pet owner (of an array of creatures) since I was a child. I had never, though, up to this point, experienced Goat Yoga. Goats are often underestimated and stereotyped as animals that "eat everything" and are just naughty! Well the naughty part can be true, although in the best way possible. Goats are most akin to dogs when it comes to barnyard creatures and their behavior. They are highly intelligent and sense human energy. They may want to hop on you or just simply lay by your side and rest. They gently nibble at the food you offer them from your hand. In goat yoga, there is truly no judgement, and like our wonderful instructor said this past Sunday, you check your ego at the door. You stretch, breathe, release negative thoughts and limiting beliefs. You interact with these sweet, incredible furry hoofed characters and you honestly start believing everything will be ok. If you think that sounds cliched or corny, you're entitled to that opinion of course. I have always found meditation, prayer (the most powerful meditation for me) and animals to be life game changers. Goat Yoga is all of these elements wrapped into one experience. Tyler Morella, a Veteran and the owner of these precious animals and Totes Goats Yoga, and his mom and girlfriend all played a special role in the class I attended and they are all such warm, kind people. I can't wait to do Goat Yoga with Totes Goats again! Thanks so much Tyler and family (two and four- legged!)
