One of the torsion springs broke on our 2 car garage door last night. I called multiple garage repair places early on this Saturday morning and the soonest someone could come out to repair was Monday, and the average cost was $300 on up. One company quoted me $200 but I would have to wait until Monday, which I wasn't willing to, AND they were a Phoenix based company (buy local!) I looked on YouTube for a possible DIY project, saw that I could order the springs and winding rods for pretty cheap, under $100. But I also read about the extremely high tension that the springs are held under and that people who don't know what they're doing all of the time (like me) have ended up maimed and disfigured as a result of... well.. being cheap. So long story short I called a few more place and got ahold of Tim from Able Garage Door Service. He came out within in 2 hours of our phone conversation, in less than an hour he had replaced the springs, educated me on some stuff, gave me a 5 year warranty and then I paid him $230. Not bad! read more

I called three garage door companies to get a quote on possibly replacing our garage door because it had some cracks and it was making a clunking noise when it closed. The first company came out, looked at our door and immediately gave us a quote for a new door. Able Garage Door came out afterwards and told us we didn't need to replace our door but instead recommended a brace be placed to support the door. We had him install the new brace which was considerably less than buying an entire new door. We appreciate the fact that Able looked at our door and didn't automatically say we needed a new door and instead recommended a more cost effective and safe way of fixing our door. Of course, I cancelled the third appointment because they probably would have told us we needed a new door. Thanks Able Garage Door for being completely upfront and honest! Your customer service is outstanding! read more

My garage door started to come off its rails, it looked like a daunting job. It was also a Saturday, but to my surprise and relief, when I called Able Garage Door Service, Tim was at my house within 35 minutes. The first thing I noticed was his professional attire and appearance. Secondly, he wasted no time and starting to make the repairs to my garage door. He was very knowledgeable and even took the time to show me exactly what needed to be repaired on my garage door. He then showed me how I could perform maintenance on my own door in the future. The cost was very reasonable and he made sure that all my questions were answered before he left. I can wholeheartedly recommend this business and will most certainly use them again in the future. read more

Best local business, service, and professionalism - by far! As a brand new mom, and new homeowner, I accidentally hit our garage door (apparently, it was not properly aligned, and had not fully raised, and this had missed home inspection). Very bad day. The Able team came out soooo quickly and instead of price gauging me, or forcing me to get a new garage door and system (which they could have ... it was baaaad), they simply fixed the dent, re-aligned the door and let me go on with my day at an extremely reasonable price. It's been almost a year now, and the door still works perfectly every time - thanks to the tesm at Able. read more

Able Garage Door Service was recommended to me by a friend. Thank You, Friend! Tim was open and honest about what the repair would entail and also the cost. As I am a retiree and on a fixed income this was helpful in going forward with the repair. He called ahead and actually came a little early (when does that happen). He repaired the obvious and when it was time to test the door he found another problem. He had the part needed in his truck and only charged me for the labor needed to install the part. He performed a maintenance on the entire system when he finished. My twenty year old door is like new! read more

Tim is my hero! This is the third time I've called him to help me out. The first time was years ago and we fixed the problem over the phone - no charge. The second and this last time needed his on site expertise. I got an appointment that worked with my schedule, he determined the issues (this time it was a broken spring), he gave me a price, and made the repairs. Impeccable service, respect for my property and me, and knowledge of a more than twenty year old system makes him my go-to guy. He also gave me great tips to keep the system working and what to watch out for. read more

Previously, when my door came off the track, I had used a big name garage door service company. The service tech tried to scare me into getting a whole new system. The next time it came off I called Tim at Able Garage door service. Tim arrived when he said he would, fixed the door with no intimidation tactics. When it was time to get the door replaced along with a new opener I called Tim. He was "able" to get the job completed at the quoted price and within a day. He even cleaned up after himself, and hauled the old door and packaging away. read more

My car was being held hostage by my garage. I finally freed it but I needed a new something. I found Able on yelp and gave them a try because I only had to wait one business day and they had a 5 star rating. Reading their reviews, I noticed that they could be mine. The prompt attention, the professionalism, the soft sell and the early identification and fix for the problem. Tim was in my garage for less than an hour. That began with locating the problem, then strategizing to deal the problem, implementing the strategy and then relax read more

Tim was recommended by my sister in Tucson. I was pleased to see that he would drive to Green Valley for my service as the local garage door services refused to work on my door. I had a long list of things that needed to be fixed on my two garage doors and put off getting someone out because of potential time and cost. When I finally called Able, I was pleasantly surprised to see how quickly Tim figured out what I needed and got everything fixed, and even more pleasantly surprised by how reasonable (shh don't tell him) the bill was. I had an issue with a "temperamental garage door, which fortunately acted up while he was there. Listen patiently. Replaced 2 sensors for a reasonable price. It is the way he explained the charges "I am going to charge you XXX for the labor and XXX for the parts. No one has ever said that. Such a nice person. I thought ethical companies were gone. He is restoring my faith. Thank you so very much. read more
