I have used A-Authentic 3 times, and have been very pleased with their service. My most recent service was to fix a broken spring in the door. The service was prompt, and I was pleased with the work. What really bothers me is that when it was time to pay I was informed that I could either write a check or if I chose to use a credit card, I had to pay the fee. The bill was for over $500.00. I wrote a check, but not everyone can do that, and why should someone be forced to pay more for the same service just because they needed to use a credit card? And the policy should be explained when the appointment is booked. This has been irritating me every time I think about it. I will probably use another company the next time. read more

Called early in the morning and a real person answered the phone and set up an appointment to repair our garage door which was hanging up and not going down. The technician Jake was able to come much earlier than the appointment which was great. I called as our garage door opener battery backup was beeping and indicator said it needed to be replaced. They said someone would be out that day but I never heard back from anyone. I was going out of town and worried the door would malfunction. Ok here Im back in town, never heard back from them but figured out where the battery was and took it to battery store and replaced it myself. This company had installed the opener in 2012 or 2013. Well kudos to Jake from A-Authentic garage door service. He was very professional, customer service oriented, knowledgeable, friendly but most important he was thorough with explaining my garage door issue and laid out all my options. Called early Saturday morning and got a real person. Raymond was helpful and responsive to my concern about getting service in a very timely manner! Told me about 10 to 11am. Called back an was able to arrive 9:30am. Raymond was friendly & professional. Accessed the problem right way and did some trouble shooting of future issues. Spring broke on my garage door. I had another company out yesterday but after waiting all day they came out then tried to tell me I needed a complete rebuild for $800. I told them where to go then called A-authentic garage door this afternoon. I was worried since it is Sunday on Labor Day weekend. A person (Tammy) actual answered when I called. She gave me an estimate over the phone and said a tech could be here in 1 hour. 45 minutes later Jose was here! Jose checked the door and said it DID NOT need a full rebuild. He recommended going with 2 springs instead of one (which I already knew I wanted to do based on my research and previous experience). Jose told me my bearings were just fine so no reason to replace. He suggested I replace plastic bushing in center with a new metal bearing but put no pressure on me to do so. In the end, I went with 2 springs and the center bearing. He had them all done and my door working great in less than an hour. Great service and great price so they definitely earned 5 stars! read more

On Friday we called to get a couple new garage door openers because we had lost one and were scared that someone had stolen it. Within a couple of hours, Jose was here to save the day. He explained everything to us and took a huge weight off of our shoulders. Then today (Sunday) we realized one of the old remotes had stopped working so we decided to purchase two more. Jose called us and told us that he would be here shortly. We found out it was his day off. When he got here he was extremely professional, just like before. He had programmed our new remotes within 5 minutes. This was the best service we've ever had! They came out the day I inquired about repairs on our garage door. Weren't pushy or trying to sell me something more than what was needed. Had the strut replaced on top panel that was previously installed incorrectly (I had no idea). Others repair guys that came out said the whole top panel needed to be replaced or the whole garage door. They were honest, friendly, and had the work completed that same day! My garage door would not open or close. I called and got a person who set up an appointment for that day. Jake came out and pointed out my ladder was blocking the sensor. October 2014. Had problems with the opener lifting the garage door. Called Authentic Garage Doors. Came out on a Saturday for no additional charge (+). The person who came, Brian, told me that I needed new springs for the door. Problem was not the opener (2 year old top of the line Genie). Estimates for the springs were 499.00 + tax at the low end and 699.00 + tax at the high end. I paid the 68.00 service call. Brian lubed the door hinges while he was here (+). I decided to check around to see if this was a correct assessment and price. Today Dalton doors came out and replaced the circuit board in the opener (under warranty) and determined that I do not need a new spring and that in fact it was replaced less than two years ago (I forgot about that). Total cost 73.16. Thank goodness I did some checking. Also, two days after Brian was here, he called to see if I wanted to keep my appointment (I had not made any future appt. with him). I advised we had not made another appt. and that I was having someone else look at the door (this was before Dalton came out). What the heck was that all about? He knows there was no appt. as I made it clear I would think about what I planned to do. This was all very suspect and clearly the wrong assessment of the problem and an overcharge. BTW, Dalton quoted me 229.00 + tax to replace the springs. Watch out. Just saying. read more
