The service was very quick, although I would recommend someone to drop you off while he fixes the car. There isn't really a place to hang out for two-three hours. Excellent service through and through! I cannot express my total satisfaction with the service I received. I went to Able Auto Glass to inquire about windshield replacement and Debbie was very thorough and helpful in explaining everything to me. She gave me a written quote of what it would actually cost me and not just an estimate. I chose an OEM windshield for my lexus and when the part arrived, Chris showed me all the high quality products he would use to replace the cracked windshield. I left my car and was prepared to call uber, but Debbie offered to drive me home. Where else can you get a service like that! After work, I came back to pick up my car and everything looked perfect. My windshield unfortunately got chipped while I was driving to work one day, so I quickly turned to Yelp and found this place close to work. I made a quick call before lunch, and they were able to service me right when I showed up. I was in and out in a little over an hour. The owners, Chris and Deborah, were very friendly and polite, and were happy to show me step by step how they repaired the chip. This review was long due! When my car windshield bore a 10inch crack, I looked up glass repair service shops in Houston. Based on relatively few but exceedingly great reviews on yelp and a friend who liked their page on FB, I gave it a shot. I contacted Able auto via the 'contact us' form on the website. Honestly, I did not except such a quick response on a Friday! Deborah was very nice and wrote back to me even on a weekend. When I got there, Chris came up to me and inspected the car. He was very courteous and escorted me inside their home and offered me something to drink. It took about three hours for the the windshield replacement. Meanwhile, I got a ride home as I live very close by and didn't want to wait so long. Deborah was super sweet and let me play with her cat! She told me that Chris first started his business by repairing chips and cracks. For all those who worry about the location, I'd get there while the sun is still shining. Great service all the way around - my rock chip is gone. They reminded me insurance could cover so I called my insurance company while they completed the work (I was prepared to pay cash) and my insurance did the claim right then. I arrived at my appointment time (which I had to reschedule three times due to the glass getting wet - no charges or complaints from them) - they got me right in. Convenient for the med center area. Deborah and Chris run a small, honest operation in which quality comes first. Chris's attention to detail and meticulous preservation of the customer's property is inspiring, and you're not going to see that at larger shops. I opted to stay at the shop while the work was being done and they had serviceable accomodations, but there are cats so if you're allergic, arrange to be picked up and dropped off while the work is done. As I mentioned, it's a small operation, but that eliminates a lot of the overhead and creates a lot more value for the top-flight work that is offered. read more

One awesome perk of living in the dodgy end of Houston is the frequent car break-ins. I left the gym one evening to find my front passenger window shattered, with glass shards all over the inside of my car, thanks to Houston's finest. Luckily, I found Able Auto Glass through Yelp and decided to get my vehicle fixed here after getting a very reasonable quote over the phone. I took my car in on a Wednesday afternoon around 330 pm and it was fixed and ready to pick up in 2 hours. Amazingly fast service and very reasonable pricing! There were no add-on or "necessary repairs" that often drives up the initial quote by a couple hundred dollars. Easy choice for me to take my new ride into Able Autoglass today after I noticed a small chip in the windshield this morning. Knew that a spreading crack = new windshield so wanted to nip it in the bud. No appointment. Rolled in, pretty sketchy neighborhood, just a garage, but was immediately greeted by Chris. He told me he could take care of me in an hour and a half, otherwise not for 5 days or so. We talked cars for a second, then I left to come back later. The work was done quickly and efficiently in about 40 minutes. I hung out in their waiting room, which is basically a living room (it's pretty cozy actually) and they offered me water and wireless and basically whatever I needed. Only $45. To avoid a $300-500 repair, definitely worth it. The customer service, as mentioned, is outstanding. Don't be fooled/scared by the Almeda neighborhood - these guys are great. read more

Lovely mom and pop shop. Chris and Deborah are great. I called Friday am and was able to secure an appointment that same day thanks to a cancellation. Deborah was consistent and efficient with her communication throughout the entire process. Chris knows his stuff and went above and beyond after realizing I had attempted to roll down my non existent window after a break in. He worked diligently in an attempt to repair the extra damage that I had done. He could have easily made it easier on himself and just said I needed additional repairs. While admiring his mechanical skills, I mentioned that I was going to learn how to change out a fuse after my sunroof stopped working. On my way home, I realized my sunroof was working again! This is not a huge retail location. It's a small office and a couple of garage spaces. A huge variety of books, Netflix, videos, and water. My window is working beautifully 11 days later.
