You know what they say. Never follow a large vehicle or truck too closely because you WILL get a rock chip on your windshield. I had to learn it the hard way wamp wamp :( So the first thing I did was go on yelp to look for a good repair shop. I stumbled across Able Auto Glass. I'm not going to lie, I was a bit doubtful because there weren't that many reviews. Lets just say, I will never doubt a business again based on the small amount of reviews. The owners Chris and Deb were awesome and they did an excellent job on the rock chip. Chris took his time and didn't rush things even though they were about to close. Super cute and nice couple. Made you feel very welcome in their little shop. Chris made sure that I had something to do during the wait and told me that I could watch something on their netflix account if I didn't want to watch boring old cable. How cool is that? I'm beyond satisfied with the quality of their work. And to think I almost settled for one of those tents on the side of the road? What was I thinking?! I'm so glad I came here. read more

Small businesses need to take a long hard look at Able Auto Glass because they are a shining example of what customer service should look like in any industry. I called and spoke immediately with to a representative, and she quoted me prices for replacement windows, providing details regarding the reasoning of the prices. Miraculously, the prices quoted to me on the phone were the same when I arrived with my car! That's when I knew I'd come to the right place. I briefly discussed the time table, details of the incident, total cost after taxes, and current state of the car so any scratches on the paint wouldn't be disputed by either party when the work was complete(something my technician was honest enough to initiate). The work was done in the 48 hour time table agreed upon, and the quality of the work was superb. Months later I have had no issue with my window despite driving through the 3-world country-esque roads of Montrose. Some time ago I had a shattered passenger side window replaced by Able Auto Glass. The prices were reasonable as I decided to just pay out of pocket since I had a $500 deductible for my insurance. So a little bit torn between 4 or 5 stars, but finally decided on 5. I'll start with the cons first: - The location is a little sketch. It took me a second to get out of my car when I looked around. But Chris walked up to my car and was so nice so I got out. - They have a cute little seating area with a TV inside that is attached to Deb's office. However, they have a little black cat running around and I am allergic so I spent the most of my time sneezing and rubbing my eyes. I would have walked outside, but it was like, 100 degrees. Pros: - The customer service was phenomenal. They are both just so nice and made me feel very comfortable. - The actual job itself was great as well. Chris was quick with the crack on my windshield, and you can't see a thing anymore. This is my second time here to repair my windshield. As the other reviewers have already mentioned, the owners are super nice and personable. They have a comfortable waiting room in the back with couches and a TV where you can chill. Most importantly they do excellent work. I would highly recommend them for all your windshield needs (from small chips all the way to full windshield replacements), especially those who live or work close to the med center. Don't trust some cheap, sketchy tent on the side of the road to fix your windshield! read more

It's easy to see why people love this little place run by Chris and Deborah. My car got the passenger window completely smashed, which also affected the actuator (it made an awful loud noise when locked). It had to stay for several days because the insurance adjuster took her time, but Deborah kept calling them and updating us. It's true the place is a bit hard to find, but it's close to the 610 and only 5 minutes from a nearby Enterprise car rental place (which I also recommend). I was very appreciative when Deborah gave me a ride back to the shop when I had to return the rental car. By then it was already dark and I had unfortunately misplaced my car key, but she quickly got me a flashlight to help me find the key. The job itself was perfectly done. Whenever I have to do anything with my car...I get nervous. It's hard to find the right people and trust them with your vehicle and hope that they communicate what they are doing. Well, tell you what--I work in Katy, live by Heights and I drove here several times and it's definitely not because of the convenience in location. These people know what they are doing and for that--I'll drive any where for a trusted professional to work on my car! It wasn't just the reviews on YELP that attracted me to them--it's that the staff have a collection of pictures and videos that show their work! I found a video on FJ Cruiser and was hooked! It's hard to find someone familiar with your vehicle and I've had such bad luck with people screwing up on my car, but they really, truly, blew me away! Came in to replace my windshield AND the top piece on my FJ Cruiser flew off a few days ago (long story) and well, while replacing the windshield, they helped me identify the part(s) I needed to get the car whole again! They didn't have to do that, but they did because they rock! They ALWAYS stayed in touch with me and would not continue working on my car unless they had my full consent to proceed (whenever there was something unexpected--I tell you, my car was a mess)! This is my second time visiting Able Glass and they always go out of their way to provide excellent service. The first time, my rear passenger window was busted and Chris gave me a quote that was significantly lower than the other place around me and was able to fit me in that same day, and Deborah generously gave me a ride home. The second time, the weather trim around my rear sliding window was ripped off and he was able to affix the trim and window back in place and didn't even charge me! Amazing customer service and they helped me get this done through my insurance (State Farm) that when I called them myself told me I'd have to pay out of pocket. I wouldn't have even minded if I had to, they offered such a reasonable price. Great service !! The repairs and replacements of windshields are always professionally done. They stand by their work.

Quality workmanship and installation for a windshield is a SAFETY factor as the passenger front and side airbag uses the windshield as a "backstop" prior to deployment and it also provides up to 60% of the structural integrity for the roof in the event of a rollover. With an improperly installed windshield, you don't know it until it's too late. I initially went to another auto glass stop but wasn't confident in their work so I called Able Auto Glass for a second opinion. They were able to fit me in immediately and put me at ease by providing updates step-by-step prior to the actual visit including the reasoning they used a certain urethane glue and the various pro/cons of the different windshields. Chris and Deborah are very committed to their business, use the best materials, and provide quality work that is the industry standard. They also took the time to show me some of the "shortcuts" the prior shop made on installing my old windshield such as not priming the pinchweld and places where the cheap urethane used was thin. The prices are very reasonable and fair and they go the extra step to make sure the customer is satisfied. Peace of mind is definitely something you will leave with.
