It was late in the day because the original company I called was a no-show. Chicago Locksmiths said they could do it and gave me a same day time window. Excellent communication: The technician called me at the start of the time window to tell me he was on another job, but would be there within 2 hours. This allowed me to get on with my day rather than waiting by the window/the phone (as the other company had left me to do all day). The technician then called me when he had finished the previous job and gave me a time frame of when he would get to me. As it was quite late I decided to reschedule for the next day. The same evening Chicago Locksmiths called me to confirm a next day appointment time. On the morning of my appointment the new technician called to say he was on his way with an ETA for arrival and called when he reached me. The communication was excellent and meant I could do other things because I knew Chicago Locksmith was keeping me updated on the status of my appointment. For the appointment itself, the technician was great. Explained everything, gave me advice on one of the doors which was coming loose off the hinge. Re-keyed my lock quickly and cleaned up afterwards. I will certainly use Chicago Locksmiths again. Great service, and impeccable customer communication!

The air handler is in the attic above the garage. Peter DIDN'T EVEN GO INTO THE ATTIC to look at the air handler. He told me to call the hvac company I had out a couple days prior to ask what kind of power the air handler needs. The hvac company said there's a tag on the air handler so all this idiot needed to do was LOOK AT THE AIR HANDLER which is what I was paying him to do. He arbitrarily told me it would cost $2,500 to fix the issue and he DIDN'T EVEN LOOK AT THE AIR HANDLER TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH IT. Peter also told me I need to rewire my entire house and that it would cost $20k. He tried to pressure me into giving him a decision about the $20k on the spot stating his schedule is filling up - MASSIVE red flag. He also pointed out a number of other issues he wanted to charge me to fix that didn't need fixing. Instead, I hired an electrician who does the electrical work for a home builder who builds 400+ homes/year (they are a former client of a family member). Not only did the LOOK AT THE AIR HANDLER, but they fixed the electric AND the air conditioning and for a fraction of the cost of the arbitrary number Peter gave me. They also confirmed the tens of thousands of dollars Peter tried to get me to spend with him was utterly unnecessary. Peter is apparently the owner of this company - he is very young and inexperienced and VERY LAZY. BEWARE because HE IS A CON ARTIST so PLEASE DON'T GET TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF BY THIS GUY.
