ABINGDON GRILL, by Target and Lowes is WORTH THE VISIT! I've seen some positive comments on here and I agree! They have a great Happy Hour 3-7. I got the Happy Hour Old Bay wings, they were delish. My hubby got the bourbon, also delish. I recommend dipping the old bay in the bourbon sauce ( chef kiss) the perfect sweet salty combo. Another great tip for wine drinkers. They carry Scarborough Sauvignon Blanc. It's impossible to find a Sauvignon Blanc unless you are dining at the likes of Mountain Branch, Bacco, latitudes or the other upscale $$$ restaurants in the area. The food is made for anyone between the ages of 50-80. I'm sure it's great for that audience. Atmosphere felt dead sadly, almost like a funeral home. Service was great people were very kind. Honestly just a shame the demographic was like that! read more

Perhaps it was just once and just my order...but: I Was there for an organizational Christmas party PROS: Well lit parking lot..location is tucked away from everything (just outside of BJs member warehouse) Casual dining (think buffet) and has a bar w TVs The private room allows closed doors away from the masses (also has a tv). booths, or the ability to have one "long table" in the middle. Yolanda, our server, was patient and accommodating, having to serve 25 or so ladies who were also trying to play holiday games, and eat, and exchange gifts! The bust-man, was smiling and helpful to her while we were wrapping up A couple of my friends really enjoyed their food and the pricing was average for seated service No auto-gratuity added for a group. This guarantees tip, but often less than what would be given otherwise. I ALWAYS give more if I'm with a group! CONS: The menu says gluten-free pasta can be substituted. But it doesn't warn you that they (seemingly) only have gluten-free Fusilli pasta. I pre-viewed the menu online and had been craving fettuccini/linguini. (NOT the same as fusilli at all! And they don't tell you when u order!) Pro-they allow salmon as an add on to the fettuccini, at the same price as the shrimp add-on,$23 Odd. And lacking Alfredo sauce Gluten free pasta does have a diff texture than wheat flour pasta...but that doesn't mean UNDONE I went to the kitchen and asked if they could simply make me some linguini quickly, and I'd add my salmon to it. He reconfirmed that I was ok w non-gluten free, and I was so hungry by then I said yes Went back to my seat and picked at my salmon as it got colder by the minute. After 20minutes I went back to the kitchen and said "just make my order to go for the party is nearing its end" When I returned to my seat, now my plate of salmon was gone!. So I started eating the only thing around...the bread, that had come out last (recall...gluten free = no eating bread. But I was starving having been there now for 2hrs) When my to-go box arrived...it was just pasta. I advised that my salmon had been taken-mid eaten, so I would need a piece of salmon with my pasta. So. Once again, I continued to eat bread. My to-go finally came, as we were removing table cloths and decore and taking final pictures Full of bread, and waiting on a ticket...the others had their tickets placed at their seat..., I got up and went to the line and stood waiting to pay, and was handed my $23 ticket Yes. I did get my food. But not originally what I wanted -gluten free linguini. Instead, I got hard as a rock fusilli A re-do of pasta should not take more than 20minutes and one would think they would have simply redone my entire dish if they realized they couldn't bring the pasta out immediately I was not able to enjoy my meal with my friends and colleagues, and though no one FORCED me to eat bread, there was no other food option while I waited for my entree (my body will make me pay) Not once did a manager come and ask about the scenario, apologize, nor offer consolation that my Christmas party dining experience ended up being bits of bread that I have an intolerance for So yes. I paid full price And still left a 25% tip (wasn't Yolanda's fault) Not sure I'll return...one bad experience might be an outlier...but I'm still a bit sore that management never broached me. The staff was friendly and attentive, gave our children a little gift baggy with all kinds of little toys/ coloring activities to keep them busy, then came later when our little one was crying and gave an additional rattle to make her smile. Food came out hot and quickly, mozzarella sticks were fresh and marinara sauce seemed house made. Drinks were nice, cheesecake was amazing! Prices were average for what we ordered. I can't believe this place has been around the corner from me for so long and I just decided to try it! I wasn't sure what to expect in this unassuming little restaurant. I got the Dijon and breadcrumb encrusted cod, a baked potato, and green beans. Everything tasted amazing! The green beans were slightly over cooked but otherwise very tasty. Our first experience was pretty poor. We had 4 diners. The French dip looked nothing like prime rib. The diner said it was "deli roast beef", over cooked and served with thick brown gravy, not au jus. One diner said the cod was "ok". Another diner liked the salmon, saying it was a good portion. They enjoyed the baked potato and veggies. I ordered a stacked prime rib sandwich with a 4 dollar up charge for a salad. The waitress asked how I like it cooked...medium. It was in the "burger" column on the menu, but I specifically asked if it was a burger and she said "no". It WAS a burger with overcooked deli roast beef on top!! I sent it back. The waitress apologized saying she was "new" and asked if I wanted something else. It took forever for food to come out as it was! Other tables came in, were served and were heading out before we got our food. My husband and I decided to share Tiramisu. It was frozen solid! Overall, a very poor experience. The restaurant only had 3 cars in the lot on a Saturday at 7pm. We decided to take a chance and go w our 2 children. The host sat us and gave our children the play packs which was very nice. It included coloring pages, stickers, small squishy and a pop it. The service was fine. Our server was prompt and kind. The food was mediocre. Pretzel bites were good. The cook delivered our food and dropped our fries by accident on the tray and made us new hot ones which was nice. I could tell that the employees wanted the customers to have a good experience and were good people. There was just no customers. You could hear everyone's conversation. The ambiance was so awkward it was sad. You could tell this restaurant used to be the place to go and has had a declining customer base. We will not be returning. read more

Went there last night, second time in quite a long while. Service was lightning fast, my mixed drink was strong, and my meal was fantastic. I had the chophouse burger with sautéed mushrooms on mashed potatoes with Demi glaze gravy with green beans. Green beans were fresh with lightly salted fresh garlic, potatoes were silky and honestly, the burger is one of the BEST I've had in a very long time! The meal was big enough that I had a light lunch today for leftovers and it was just as good! Too bad the table next to us had to whinge at every little thing, but some people are just like that. The manager came to check on our experience on the way over to their table, as they insisted on speaking with the manager, we had nothing but a great experience and meal. I will echo some of the other sentiments here in that the ambience is a little... flat. Can't quite put my finger on it, nothing terrible by any means, flat is the best that I can come up with. Stopped in to grab a drink and a bite before shopping. Was greeted at the door for seating but decided on the bar. Jon our bartender and server was very pleasant. Quiet out of the way place to go. Went on New Year's Eve and felt at home. Ordered meatballs and wings which were some of the best wings ever eaten. The meatballs could use more time on stove but very tasty. Wife ordered strip steak but they served her ribeye. Cooked a tad more than medium but still tender and very good taste. Only bad experience was waitress didn't own up to mistake of order and rectify but the owner not only checked on us a few times he also corrected bill. Been by this restaurant numerous times on the way to BJ's, first time we stopped in. The service was great, food was well plated and good. Let's give it another go! Abingdon Grill struggled a few months ago when they opened and closed less than 8 weeks later due to severe staffing issues. But the owners reopened recently and we couldn't be more happier! We realize it takes time to build a good business so we're here for it. The food was delicious! I had the Grilled Salmon Platter and my husband had the Buffalo Wings. Our server was great. Not too long of a wait for the food. It was about half full on a Saturday evening around 6pm. Stopped by last evening somewhat by accident. I missed the turn into Target and went to the end of the road to turn around where I discovered this place. Was hungry, so decided to give it a try. I sat at the bar and ordered a glass of wine for a very reasonable $6. I ordered the 12oz Prime Rib for $22.99 that included two sides. The (very helpful) bartender recommended the Mac n Cheese so I ordered it along with the mashed potatoes. The food arrived within 12 minutes. The prime rib was cooked a perfect medium as ordered. The bartender was also correct as the Mac n Cheese was outstanding. The meal was too much for me to finish. Portions were large, and my review says that this place offers tremendous food for a great value. I HIGHLY recommend!!!!!! read more

This is the first time we've been here and wanted something new for lunch. I started with cream of crab soup and buffalo shrimp. The cream of crab was way too watery and had an odd taste for cream of crab. It had flavor, just not cream of crab flavor. I will say there were a few chunks of crab in there though. The buffalo shrimp were fair. I'd have given them a higher rating but they were very mild for buffalo flavoring. For our main courses, my wife and I got Philly Steaks and my mother in law got a ribeye. The Philly Steak came with a choice of hot peppers or sweet peppers. I ordered sweet peppers. I got plain green peppers. Overall though, I liked the sandwich. My mother in law's steak was not good at all. First of all, it wasn't even close to the right temperature. She ordered medium and got well done. The steak itself was very dry, as were the mushrooms with it, and the steak was really a sandwich steak. It was about as thin as a McDonald's hamburger and incredibly small. Our server was fantastic! I believe her name was Heather, but I could be wrong. She was great though. On top of everything and very nice. They did comp my mother in law a dessert for the steak mess up but the damage had already been done. Hate to say it, but we likely won't be returning. read more

I was there for a baby shower today and it was wonderful. About 40 people. The food was great, the menu moderately priced (outside of the shower menu), and the waiter couldn't have been better. He worked that room for 4 hours straight and helped take out gifts to the cars. Genuinely friendly and helpful. Clean and well maintained restaurant. Ample parking and a little out of the way so it has a more cozy feel. Its next to BJ's on Constant Friendship. Skip the fast food and fast causal on Constant Friendship. Give this one a try.
