Updating this review to a solid 4.5. Given other dim sum places and how dirty they look, this place deserves more credit. This place is much cleaner than other places. The prices are reasonable too. The quality of the food is up there as one of the best. The quality of the ingredients are top notch. The flavors of some of the dimsum might be a bit blander (hence missing the elusive solid 5 stars) than other dimsum places but you still cannot go wrong with any of the dishes here. The place gets busy, so I recommend making reservations (24 hour notice) or coming early. read more

Yes, you can order in Chinese or verbally, too. Tips: it's in the Marriot Hotel and park in the garage. The restaurant will validate parking. Walk in through the sliding doors of the hotel, make a sharp left to find the golden door with the restaurant name on it. Pull the door open and you will be greeted by the traditional dim sum restaurant ambiance. No carts to keep the food warm and high-pitched voices calling out the cart contents, but you get the dishes as fresh as it can be. They made the beef rolls as we waited. The ordering system just relies on you scanning the QR code and it immediately knows your table number and keeps a tally of your order once you submit it. You can keep submitting multiple rounds of food or add to your order. If you have trouble the wait staff will help you put in the order. The food comes out staggered so it's not a long wait. Someone is always checking the printout of your order (they print a copy and tick off the items as they bring it to your table). It's a very efficient system. I came here with my family and my parents. Upon walking in, I saw that they put up plastic barriers between tables--which is a good thing. Once seated, they don't tell you that you have to place your order using the QR code to get to the menu. So while I was waiting for someone to come take my order, I was hoping to get some level of service. You won't get it unless you know to order the food online. The food quality is not bad, but not great. The dim sum is average and they charge you for crispy noodles which is what they once used to place on your table at no cost. I'm. So. Full. Fat and happy. I checked into my hotel this evening and I happened to catch a glimpse of the Aberdeen entrance...which is right in the lobby. Decision made immediately; you had me at Dim Sum. Based on my conversation with one of the owners or managers, I learned that the full dim sum experience happens during lunch. One of the folks at the hotel desk also said that the place gets crazy busy on the weekends. I understand why. Did I mention that I'm full? I wanted to try all of the dim sum...like....all of it....but sadly I dined alone this evening. Nobody to share with. But.... they have a dim sum sampler! Check. Oh...a separate order of steamed vegetable dumplings? Check. Ohhhh....clams Hong Kong style? Check. Oh...what the heck...some Chinese Broccoli with oyster sauce? Twist my arm. And....check. Complimentary sweet, crunchy and tangy cabbage with a perfectly brewed pot of tea starts off the meal. Two lovely orange slices and a fortune cookie finish it up. The in between? I'm so full. Here's why: The dumplings are off the hook. All of them. But my favorite? The green, gummy and extraordinarily satisfying vegetable dumplings. The other dumplings were fantastic as well...and the Hong Kong style clams were perfectly spicy with plenty of those wonderful salty black beans scattered throughout. By the time I got to the Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce I was pushing maximum density...but I took one for the team and explored the outer limits of my bulging belly. I love this place. We came here for Dim Sum on the weekend and it turns out this is a very authenticate Cantonese restaurant. We had varieties of Dim Sum and several regular dishes: plain sauteed shrimp, streamed chicken with ginger & scallion sauce, crispy stuffed tofu, snow pea leaf, and E-Fu noodle with mushroom. They were all very delicious! I can't wait to try other dishes on their menu and I would definitely come back here every time I am in town. read more

You'll find a variety of dimsum from well made shrimp dumplings(hai gaw), steamed rice rolls, and quality noodle dishes like haw fun and singapore rice noodles. Service was pretty good and be aware there is usually a wait as it's very popular. Parking garage is under the hotel and your ticket should be validated by the cashier for free parking. The restaurant is on level D and you need to pressed a phone at the door and someone will unlock the door for you. The restaurant is quite spacious. There are separation between tables for COVID safety. The ordering is very easy. You scan QR code which is specifically assigned to your table. You order online and the order is sent directly to the kitchen. You can order more at anytime without having to ask the waiters. The food came out very quickly. I really like the chive dumplings and chicken feet. The shrimp shumai is okay. The shrimp noodle crepes are amazing. I order the fried squid with salt garlic pepper and was not very satisfied. It was not bad. It would be nicer if they seasoned it more. The price is very reasonable. The waiters were eager to service and the table was very clean. I love dim sum, but the food is here is average and the customer service left a very bad taste in my mouth. Hands down the worst service I've experienced at a restaurant. We ordered more $200 worth of food, and then they charged us for condiments that are normally served with food for free. The server was annoyed that I requested more than a single packet of mustard, and instead of communicating with me she went to get the manager. The manager was not accommodating, and said if we want more mustard, it is 80 cents per package. I expressed my disappointment, and the manager said too bad if you don't like it leave. In a weird location inside a hotel with mostly locals patrons and the place fills up quickly with long wait time. It is not a huge restaurants with hotel or street parking. If you are visiting or coming by Uber, you are better off going to a larger Asian community with multiple restaurants in close vicinity for alternate plans. You will need your smart phone to scan and order your dim sum. Food is half way decent, forget the congee, ours had some strange smell, the mango dessert is artificially sweet. Service is so so and on the rush side. Like most Chinese restaurants, it is noisy. May be dinner will be less crowded and hopefully better. It is the only Chinese dim sum restaurant in White Plains. Located within a Marriott and across the street from a Chinese market, this place is a good option for dim sum and Chinese food. If you come during lunchtime, you may have to wait for a table. We were told 25 minutes, and that was pretty accurate for 2 pm on a Saturday. They had one cart that kept revolving around with the staples but if you wanted something that wasn't appearing, you just asked and they'd whip it up. For some reason, none of the plates really stood out today but I typically like their stir-fried turnip cake, eggplant and various dumplings. Their dim sum dishes aren't cheap - the small is $3.95 and it goes up by $1 for each size bigger. We also ordered the seafood noodles ($19.95), which had a good portion of seafood (shrimp, scallop, vegetable, and squid). We've also had traditional Chinese dinners here in the past and I always enjoy their dishes. They only have one bathroom stall each for men and women, but there's also a restroom in the lobby of the Marriott that's pretty clean. There are plenty of servers walking around that you can usually get someone's attention or have empty plates taken away. Overall, I've always preferred Aberdeen to Central Seafood, though both aren't bad. read more

The food and service here was spectacular. I came here for lunch/dim sum and all the dishes that came to our table were hot and fresh. Unlike the traditional restaurants, there were no dim sum carts being pushed around, which isn't a deal breaker. Order what you want and cut right to the point instead of dim sum carts being pushed around does save a lot of time. The staff and owner of the restaurant were all very welcoming. If you need to have your dim sum fix and you're in the area, this is the place to visit in the White Plains area. When you live in Central Connecticut, Dim Sum is at least an hour away. When you crave Dim Sum it's just terrible since nobody feels like driving an hour just to come back. Aberdeen in White Plains, NY is one of the closest and most popular options for me a Central Connecticut native who just happened to be in the area. Let me be pleased to say that it is certainly a great one. This restaurant looks just like any other Chinese Dim Sum restaurant I've been to, and yes Aberdeen passes them around in those steaming carts. Oh man its been so long and let me tell you this, when that cart filled of steaming hot Dim Sum pulls up to your table you just get the biggest smile on your face. They have great options for their weekend 11:00 to 3:00 Dim Sum service. The one thing I haven't seen in any of the other places I've been to was the Eggplant stuffed with Shrimp which was delicious and full of flavor. But your traditional Shrimp and Pork Shumai, Shrimp Dumplings, Chicken Feet and Spare Ribs are there along with even more options I wasn't able to try. Oh yeah and can't forget about the Beef Tripe which was very nice as well. Most of their options run at about $4.95 each which is not bad at all considering some other options were only $3.95. Oh my God I forgot about their Chinese Pork Buns that they have too, they're amazing as always! The staff here is very friendly and you can tell there are lots of regulars here as many seem to know the staff by name and the staff knows the customer's name. Seems like the old lady working here (trust me if you come here you'll know who I'm talking about) is like a grandmother figure to some of the regulars. Glad to see connections between staff and customers here. After all the food, my Dim Sum crave was over. They have successfully satisfied me and I even got a couple orders of fresh Sesame Balls to go. Very solid and traditional Dim Sum spot here in White Plains but please remember Dim Sum is only until 2:30 or 3:00 depending when you come here. You can also order things off their menu during this time like fried rice, chow fun, (etc.) And their normal dinner menu is availiable when they re-open at 5:00. I'll definitely make this my go-to Dim Sum spot when I come around White Plains. I reccomend you do too and to those who haven't experienced Dim Sum yet, you are definitely missing out on something very special. Aberdeen is now the closest spot to my new CT residence for dim sum and I am so glad it is there! I would literally die if I had to drive farther than White Plains to satisfy my frequent dim sum cravings. The restaurant is located in a hotel and the entrance may appear to be a bit strange as it resembles a big, metal door, which is accessed through the hotel lobby. Although there aren't many carts around the floor and service may not be the most friendly, I am pleased with the food. I was utterly surprised that the dim sum was good and pretty fresh, based on its location and customer base. I've tried the rice rolls, siu mai, chicken feet, egg tarts, etc. and was gratified by every taste. We also had dinner one night with family and the meal was equally satisfying. We were all still hungry after eating this small portion so we called and asked for a half refund and they refused and told me it was because my daughter shook up the tray. Came for Dim Sum today with my girls. Based on the reviews, we tried our best to get there when they first opened at 11AM but alas, life doesn't always work the way we'd like and we got there by 1130 and had a fifteen minute wait. By 1145, it started getting congested with patrons so, I would definitely say to try to arrive as soon as they open. We sat, were offered and served hot tea and water and proceeded to order our plates. On the upside, this restaurant is way more organized than those in Chinatown. You don't have to yell for people to come to your table even though that is a big part of the fun; the bustle of the busy and energetic dining room adds to the excitement of dim sum in the city. The downside of Aberdeen is that the food was meh. While you're dealing with the craziness of those Chinatown spots, you're also eating loads of super fresh made food. There's a big difference. We were seated right where the food comes out so, it was almost as if we had first dibs on everything from the kitchen. There was a lady with her cart by us and whenever we wanted something, we would just ask her so it was convenient. She gave us a little tude that we shrugged off; we asked about short ribs, that in the past, has been served at every dim sum spot we've ever visited, but Aberdeen, and she seemed annoyed about our inquiry. My friends started off with their Sticky Rice which they liked a lot. We had Har Gow (Shrimp Dumplings), Cheung Fun (Beef Rice Noodle Roll), Har Cheung Fun (Shrimp Rice Noodle Roll), Shrmp/Chive Dumplings, Shrimp/Scallop Dumplings, Shrimp w/Peppers, Chicken Feet, Veggie Dumplings, Sesame Balls, Seafood Shumai and Shrimp Rolls. Everything tasted good. My faves would have to be the Rice Noodle Rolls and the Shrimp/Chive Dumplings. The Chicken Feet were good also; I like the fact that they cut them up so you're not sucking on a whole foot. They cut up the rice noodles also and it made them not seem so huge. We were a little disappointed with the Sesame Balls. They are always our go-to for dessert after our dim sum brunches but these were dry AF. They were obviously not fresh and seemed to have been cooked before and reheated. Unfortunate. The Shrimp Shumai seemed a little off as well. All in all, the food tasted ok but you could tell that it wasn't exactly fresh and it's obvious when compared to the restaurants in Queens, Brooklyn and Manhattan. Those places are packed for the whole day and they have ridiculous turnover so there's no way you're getting served something that is questionable. However was never told when the kitchen was open but we started noticing tables next to us got kitchen food. Hidden inside the hotel, this restaurant has the best dim sum in Westchester. Although not many dim sum restaurants to compare, I could say that it is authentic at a reasonable price. They had limited varieties of dim sum, but it is hard to get dim sum in Westchester. There are three dim sum restaurants near by and I think this one was best one. I tried 12 different dim sum dishes and I enjoyed them, except for sticky rice and the shaolin bao. Both dishes were dry and hard to eat. We tried 4 different steamed dumplings dishes: shrimp, vegetarian, shaolin bao and chicken dumpling. Shrimp and vegetarian were my favorite. They offered free parking lot on the side and they would validate your ticket. They opened for brunch at 11:30 am and it got very busy starting at 12 pm. Dim sum were 4-6 dollars each and they have noodles a la carte. It was nice to see they were traditional dim sum restaurant with cart. They also had a menu with pics. Food was good, ordered dim sum. Service was scant. First you order from your phone which is off putting with little interaction with servers whose attention is hard to get. Ordered a regular sized bottle of Tsingtao beer that was late in appearing (had to remind the server) and was charged $10.00 for it which is absolutely ridiculous. Beer was not posted on e-menu that I could find. My bad for not asking the price but it honestly never occurred to me that it would be that much.
