I am sad to write this review. I've been going to this dentist for years and they've always been fair, but their new policy of charging me for ex-rays when I don't want them and don't have to get them is absolutely ridiculous. I just want my teeth cleaned. I was given the excuse that it's inflation, but of course, that inflation affects me too, and to charge me for something that I don't want and won't get to help their bottom line is clearly unfair and actually stealing from us. I hope they change their policy and when I told them to take me off their lists, I was practically hung up on. :( read more

I went in early Oct, major tooth pain. Need a root canal. Yeah. I've been to Abel several times before when I had money for Dental Care. Everything was fine in the visit, was referred to a specialist due to the nature of the tooth as they were unable to perform any major work, prescribed antibiotics for the infection. After the antibiotic regiment, the pain/infection didn't go away. If anything it got worse. I called as instructed, spoke with the front desk. Here's where it went bad. I told her the antibiotics didn't work. She went into a loop of "Are you Allergic? (no, I'm not allergic, the infection is resistant to the antibiotics prescribed), Do you want DRUGS?!?!?!? Are you looking for PAINKILLERS?!? (No, I wasn't asking for painkillers, she offered several times though. . .). After about 5ish mins of going back and forth trying to get it through her head THE ANTIBIOTICS DIDNT WORK, The infection is resistant. . . she said the Dentist would call back. If only there was a middle ground or other option besides, "Drug addict looking for a fix" and "Allergic reaction". . . No one called me back. I suffered in extreme pain for a whole month before I was able to see a specialist. Thank you for the experience and eating up 30% of my yearly Dental coverage. I will not be returning. We have been going to this office for years. Dr. Marchon is a good dentist and has always been so nice and explains things well. He was the only reason why we kept on coming here despite being unhappy and always having issues with the front desk. The reason for the 1 star is for the front office staff. There is constant mistakes and errors with the front desk with scheduling and billings in which they will never admit to or own up to. They constantly make excuses as if it's the patients fault or come up with excuses that is of no fault to them specifically Carmen. Although, one time there was one staff that did admit and apologize once for a canceling schedule error but of course once we brought that up to Carmen she tries to go back and say it was not an error. We're human, I get we make mistakes. Own up to your mistakes and error and apologize and fix it. Simple. This went on for years and it continue to happen until the last issue and we said that is enough. No point in complaining to anyone because there are no consequences as they'll have each other backs. So the error and mistakes will continue. Do your self a favor and find another dentist. You'll save the headache and frustration. No dentist is worth dealing with these front desk staff. read more

It's more than 10 + years and counting that Dr Marchan has taken care of all my various dental issues seamlessly . Their entire staff is very courteous and Pro active. Dr Marchan is super talented and will be there in situations you need to talk to him or get his advise too. Now , more than ever , in COVID situation that we are in , Dr Marchan and his staff take extreme precaution in each and every aspect when you go visit them . In my last visit earlier this month , They have fully adapted touch less equipment where required and also invested in extra machinery for air flow etc . Great Job All. I really appreciate it . I have this story that happened about 10 years ago. I was going to a family dentist that my family was going to since I was a teenager. I grew up, started a family and continued to go to that same dentist. Well one day I lost my job and had no insurance, so I spoke with the office manager to see if they could arrange a payment plan for my kids and I so that we could at least get our biyearly cleanings and even though I'd been a patient for over 17 years, they said they couldn't do that. So I began looking for a "temporary dentist ". I thought that once I had insurance again, I'd be back to my original dentist. I called at least three dental offices and explained my situation and found Dr. Villanueva and Dr. Marchan. The office immediately said that they would work with me to establish a payment plan, and their prices were even LESS! than my previous doctors! Fast forward to now and my kids and I am still with them! They are wonderful and caring doctors with a fantastic team and front office staff. My daughter recently require 4 teeth extraction as part of her braces procedure. She is not very comfortable but dr Roderick took time to address her concerns and even proposed a gradual extraction procedure. Again a dental office that dies not rush patients into making decision deserves a thumbs up and kudos to Dr Roderick ethical practice and behavior. Thank you !! Dr Roderick is excellent with kids. At first I think it will not work for mine as they do not hv movies to distract them. Dr Roderick took time to explain every step and why he had to do it. My kids enjoyed and felt very communicated and informed. They feel respected like adults and hence it was a great experience. In fact all the staffs in Abel dental are very supportive and friendly. Of course, they have gotten busy over the years as well and it's been a challenge trying to nab that weekend appt. I love Abel Dental Care! Dr. Marchan is great:). He always spends a lot of time educating me on what he's going to do, what i may need in the future and why, as well as what are my options given my needs. Before coming here I was going to a different Dentist (my family's dentist since I was a teen), but I decided to break away from him as he was extremely expensive (above and beyond the copays) and the service was half as good. Dr Marchan is a man with integrity. After bad experiences with other dentists who wanted me to have unnecessary, expensive procedures, I got his address from a friend. I will not look for another dentist since the first visit. My husband goes there too. With decency so rare in this line of work, he is a rare find. I also like his staff. I have been coming here for over ten years. The staff is great! Always friendly and each person is knowledgeable in their respective positions. I have referred all my friends and relatives here. Now that I have my own family, my hubby and two kids all get their dental work done here. Most of the staff have been working there for many years which says a lot about the way this establishment is run. The dentist is gentle and constantly asks if I am okay during visits. I have two kids and started their dental check ups here when then they were as young as 2. As a result, they actually like going to the dentist. Well, my 3 yo loves it because she gets a balloon, stickers, and little goodie bag toys after her cleaning. My 14 yo doesn't love it, but he isn't afraid of the dentist. The place is very clean and sanitary and has state of the art modern equipment. This will be my dentist for as long as they stay in business! read more
