I had three formal event gowns and only four days until we flew out at 6am so really only three days Angeles assured me she would have them ready. All three were not only completed, she had to cut so much off the bottom ( because we are short) she made us matching scrunchies for each dress. Due to my forgetfulness she could have over charged and I was willing to pay but she was a great value for this huge job. In my rush I had forgotten my sons pants She hemmed them in half an hour AND delivered them ( not really a device she offers ) but could see I was in a pickle. I can honestly say she did amazing work, everything was completed as requested and she went above and beyond! Thank you Angeles! I highly recommend her services and will most definitely be back. However, the experience my mother and I had at this establishment was so disappointing that I feel compelled to share it. My mother brought in the dress she planned to wear to my wedding for alterations. When we picked it up, we noticed several blue ink marks on the dress. I calmly said, "Oh my goodness, could you please take a look at these stains?" At that point, the man I believe to be Abel immediately began yelling at me, told me to "shut up," and insisted I was making a big deal out of the situation. He repeatedly used profanity while speaking to us. Throughout the interaction, I remained calm and chose not to argue or escalate the situation. His wife then came out with a wet cloth and attempted to remove the ink marks. While she was apologetic and made an effort to address the issue, the stains were not completely removed. Upon further inspection, we also noticed that the hem of the dress was uneven. We paid over $200 for these alterations and expected to receive quality workmanship and professional customer service. We were not asking for a favor--we were paying customers expecting the service we had paid for. My mother and I are hardworking people who make a conscious effort to support small businesses because we value the work they do. We also believe in treating others with respect, regardless of the circumstances. Unfortunately, that same respect was not extended to us. While I appreciate the wife's attempt to remedy the issue, the behavior we experienced was unacceptable and unprofessional. WE WERE NOT LOOKING FOR A DISCOUNT AND WE PAID THE FULL AMOUNT WE AGREED ON. Based on the quality of the work and, more importantly, the way we were treated, I cannot recommend this business. I will not be returning, and I hope this review helps others make an informed decision. What should have been a joyful and memorable part of preparing for my wedding with my mother was instead overshadowed by the way we were treated. Abel's behavior turned what should have been a special experience into a deeply upsetting one

Luis was incredibly thorough - he made sure that after I tried on each item of clothing and agreed on where to take in, that I was comfortable with the new sizing. He discussed the pricing on each garment UP FRONT and had all 7 items ready for me within a week (corduroy blazer from boden, tartan skirt from saint & sophia, number of jeans from j. crew/banana republic etc). When I came to pick them up, I tried every item on and they fit as expected! I was so delighted with the work that I just returned from my second drop off of 5 pairs of jeans, corduroy holiday pants and a dress. If you come to Luis (owner of Mike's Custom) you will have the chance to try on your items, talk through the alterations, discuss the pricing on each item and then show up within a week to pick up! He takes cash/check (which was easy to produce) and delivers incredible service!

When I tried it on in store for measuring, she continued to tell me it wasn't worth it to take in the waist because of how little excess there was, i had to ask 2 or 3 times before she finally agreed. There was also excess around the bust, and when i pointed this out, she instead just pulled the straps tighter. I wasn't sure this was best - but she's the tailor and she ignored me when i mentioned taking in the bust on the side. She gave me a date just a few days before the wedding - i said what if it's not right? she said there's no way, 100% guarantee it'll be right. okay... i come in to pick it up and she acted like i was insane for wanting to try it on to see if it fit right. insisted there was no way it could be wrong. made me pay before i went to the dressing room. i ended up trying on and not feeling comfortable enough to say anything. i brought it home, tried it on for family members and all agreed the straps and just look extremely tight and they feel very uncomfortable. i called the store and explained the problem and she said there's nothing i can do, laughed, said sorry and hung up the phone. i'll also mention, after the measurement appointment after she'd written out the ticket and price and i was literally walking out the door she mentioned she only takes cash. don't bring your clothes here. completely lazy work, intimidating behavior. i have a completely ruined dress that can't be fixed and looks and feels terrible.

What an unprofessional nightmare…read more Needed two nightgowns hemmed. Both were returned with crooked stitching and one in the wrong color from the original (black versus red) with an hole. In order to re-do the repair, the seamstress demanded that I purchase the thread. The spool was insufficient and the work remains incomplete. When contacted by phone the seamstress abruptly says she does not have time to purchase additional thread and disconnects the call. Full cash payment is required before work is performed.
