I drove from SoCal to get a car from Abel Chevrolet. Chris was amazing to deal with- honest, helpful and so pleasant. Buying cars is t my favorite activity but Chris made the process easy and fun. Highly recommend this family owned business! read more

I had ANOTHER great experience at Abel. Chris Harding once again helped me find the exact vehicle I wanted in tip-top shape at a fair price with excellent customer service and attention-to-detail. If you are looking for your next vehicle ask for Chris! read more

I got my smog service here and the employees were friendly, and the service was quick. If you Need yo wait, they have a nice waiting room.

First time buying from Abel Chevrolet. One of the smoothest and best dealership experiences I've ever had. My finance situation is not ideal. I didn't feel judged by them at all. Chris really knocked it out of the park with decent financing, not to mention working right up to closing and then some to get me all squared away. I know most dealerships are great experiences when buying and not so much later but this was good enough to trust with a good review. Amazing service. read more

Great service team. Tony and the team did a great job. Tony was great in communication and helping set up an appointment.

This is THE place to go to for your Corvette needs. Sure, it's a bit of a haul to get out there but they have the best Vette techs, with lots of experience with performance modifications and track prep. Many guys been there for a LONG time, which also tells you a lot about that dealership. I wouldn't take my Vette anywhere else. They know what they're doing and are a good, honest crew. read more

I bought a used car from them and was lied to about a "new" battery that died after 2 weeks. It had balding tires with worn lug nuts and needed new wiper blades. The only good thing about my experience was a fantastic sales person named Duane. read more

It's hard to find a dealership that's as loyal & honest as Abel. Great service all around for sales & service.

This is a dealership I truly wanted to like. Instead, I found them to be old school, and not in a good way. Deceptive sales tactics, complete lack of any ethical or moral compass and little shame when called out. I negotiated a price over the phone for a car. Followed it up with an email exchange agreeing on the price. To put down a deposit, I drove two hours to the dealership. When I got there and looked at the car, the salesman said "I have to tell you, we have another interested party and if you want the car you're going to have to come up another $1k. I shook his hand and walked away. A week or two later I noticed the car was still available a decided (against my better judgment to up my offer a few hundred dollars and they agreed. They took a $2k deposit and that evening the car said "sold" on their website with our agreed price reflected on the website. I was paying cash but they needed a credit check as a formality, yah ok whatever. Opened up the pdf and they adjusted the price by $1k up, and I couldn't believe it. So I spoke to Derek Able because I was livid and he apologized for any misunderstanding but said sorry, we just sold the car. Technically we had a deal, an agreed upon price and verbal contract. The car was mine. Nope they sold it out from under me. Absolute scum bags. This behavior and deceptive practices are what gives "the dealer experience" everyone hates. I have all the documentation to prove this but suing isn't my thing but warning other certainly is. STAY AWAY!!!! read more

Chris was fair, honest, helpful, and patient. The entire process was seamless there was no hassle no tricks. He was well spoken, professional and honestly felt more like a friend than a car salesman. There were dogs in the show room that were sweet and kind and it felt like you were walking into your home and not a battle ground like most car dealerships. I will never purchase a Chevrolet from any other dealer and salesperson. If you dont go to Abel in Rio Vista then you are doing it all wrong. Trust me as someone who worked in the car industry for 4 years, this was the antithesis of what I was accustomed to. Thank you Chris! We eneded up with a 2024 Chevrolet Suburban RST. I just had my transmission serviced on my C8 corvette, and I was very impressed with the service department here. John quoted me a price hundreds less than any bay area dealer that I called, so after reading other reviews I decided to drive an hour a 1/2 to try them out. Very happy I did! They got me in and out very fast! So fast that I had to stick around a few minutes to finish talking with everyone before I left. I learned more about my C8 from these guys than the dealer I got it from. Very friendly, Corvette knowledgeable service department, and I will definitely be going back that 1 1/2 drive for any and all work on my Corvette! read more

7 comebacks and a huge service that never fixed the problems, I have all of the repair orders to prove it.

Chevy / Chevrolet Corvette C6 full engine replacement review. I was referred to Able by 2 separate Corvette owners as the best of the best in the whole bay area/NorCal. I worked with Rich - the Director of parts and sales. When I got there, there was a line of vettes outside of the install bay. I knew I went to the right place. Rich was over the top knowledgeable, and his pricing was fair. Everything went smoothly on such a big job and I was back on the road. After this, I had an unrelated problem. I went to another Chevy dealer only because it was closer to me (I won't mention which one) They had my vette for over a week and could not figure out the problem. I called Rich and explained the issue. He knew what the problem was before even looking at the car. Able has the most experienced mechanics in the industry. For all Corvettes and Chevy this is hands down the best shop. read more

I was shopping around for a C7 on a Saturday, driving city to city to check out cars. I got a late update from car gurus on an available one at Abel Chevrolet and called to see if the car was available. Spoke to Luis and told him I would be by after late lunch. I found out later Luis actually waited for me after hours to show me the car. He wasn't pushy, answered all my questions, and was very patient. Highly recommend Luis at this dealership. Bought tires for my BMW online at tires.com, had them shipped to Able. They worked with me on a schedule to install them and also took care of disposing old tires. Can't say enough about their cooperation since this was not even a GM car. This gave me an opportunity to spec tires to my need as an Engineer rather than buy something off the shelf that doesn't completely suit me. read more

Fantastic place to get your corvette serviced. It's a pleasure to have a business that knows exactly what they're doing when it comes to your vehicle (unlike other Chevrolet dealerships I've encountered). I have been going to Abel for many years for my car's maintenance and repair needs. I recently had an issue with my extended warranty. Seems there was some ambiguous language in the contract as to what was exactly covered or not and Rich, the operations manager, stepped up and made it right. They have a great support staff and a huge friendly dog. What more could you ask for? read more

My truck had been leaking water inside the doors with all the recent rain. Still under warranty so I decided to bring it here. John Fleming was unwilling to see this as an issue and said it was a normal thing for water to leak inside a door and pool up. I asked him if it's normal to drive around with water in your door and he was unwilling to face my questions head on. He instead said that there was no issue. I asked him to document the findings (he told me over the phone he observed water in the door) however was unwilling to document this and when the service report was provided. I would look elsewhere for a place that actually is willing to live in reality. Very shady example of customer service. Forced to escalate the issue until it's resolved. read more

Can't speak about other Chevrolet models but if you have a Corvette, do yourself a favor and take it here for service and avoid frustration from other Bay Area dealerships. Sure, it may be a long drive from where you're at and you may have to sit it traffic, but I promise you, it will be worth it. Had multiple issues that could not be resolved by other Bay Area Chevrolet dealerships. Abel service team fixed both problems in 10 days despite having limited service tech staff. This is a review about their service department, but just from sitting in the waiting lounge, I can tell their sales dept looks just as good. Quick story: Own a 2017 Camaro SS 1LE have had a major problem over the last 6-8months that caused the car to turn off ABS, traction control, stability, etc all off at once under braking or fast corners and would say "Service Stabilitrak". took it to Fremont Chevrolet and they were running in circles trying to figure out what was wrong. This resulted in 5 visits 5 different repairs with no success. Frustrated with the result, and on the brink of getting an attorney to help with claiming it as a lemon, a friend said to give Abel Chevrolet a shot before following through. So I did... I drove all the way from Fremont to Rio Vista hopeful, and wow what a night and day difference in service I received when I got there. My service advisor was Will and he had a loaner car ready for me when I got there, Will asked to recreate the problem, I did, and they went to work. Will kept me updated on what they were doing and what the mechanics were testing, trying, etc. A week and a half of them diagnosing my car, they ended up fixing my Camaro's issue on its very first visit. (Fremonts visits were 1.5-2weeks each as well). Needless to say I'll make the trip out here again. They clearly know what they're doing because if you take a look into their garage, there's a lot of corvettes in the shop (they have a good reputation on the forum) and the employees at Abel also track their car. Needless to say look no further than getting your GM car serviced at Abel for any maintenance/problem you need fixed. UPDATE: Had just as good of a experience taking the girlfriend's ATS-V in for a recall. Donnell helped me and had it done while waiting in the lounge + got a track alignment done while they were at it. I'll be back for any other maintenance or issues that's for sure. read more

Bring your business to this dealership! My salesman was Ken Jones. He was fantastic to work with. Ken made me feel comfortable and the transaction was completely transparent. No hidden charges, no surprises. Just honest business. Ken was able to accommodate me the day of, being that I was coming from almost an hour and a half away. He made sure the car I was interested in was available and pulled up in front. Ken gave me a great deal with my trade in and in regards to the car I wanted it was more than a fair price. He was diligent in finding me the best lender. He was even able to get me a low APR at 4.09%. The entire experience was pleasant. I felt comfortable and was kept in the loop the entire time. He even made sure I was covered with a great warranty. There are a lot of hardball dealerships out there that just want to sell you on a car, bully you into paying an inflated price, take their commission and call it a day. But not this place. I can only speak for Ken Jones since he's the only one I interacted with and he is in no way a vulture. He put my needs first and accommodated my terms. All around great experience. I left happy and without buyers remorse. If you want a great deal, hassle-free go in and ask for Ken Jones. read more

This dealership is the bees knees! I needed work done on my car and the timing of it all just wasn't working out. I needed a place where I'd be able to work and Rio Vista isn't exactly easily accessible when asking for a ride home while you leave your car for a few days. They offered to pick my car up! Yes! I said that, they offered to pick it up! Both drivers were very kind and courteous and I felt comfortable with them driving my car such a long distance. It's the first time a dealership has ever offered to do such a thing! The driver on the way back was even really honest with me when he told me the tire pressure sensor came on on his ride back. An ongoing issue that had nothing to do with him, but I appreciated the honest gesture for sure! Now, to the work. I was kept in the loop by Don, one of the Service Techs the entire time. He called to ask about a few issues, clarify them, formulate a plan going forward and arrange to get the car back for follow up service. Very impressive. I was a little skeptical when I saw most of the reviews for this dealership were for Corvettes (I don't have a Corvette), but also impressed because customers drive from long distances to use Abel and I totally understand why. They service all makes and models of Chevys, they just have a cult Corvette following! Absolutely FIVE STAR service here. And my bill was pitiful, how could such a fantastic place be so affordable? Go to Abel. Tell Don he is my favorite! read more

Oooo-weee. These people are shady! I have no idea how they have such good reviews. Did my Dad dirty. Sold a car from under him, didn't tell him, and then scheduled an appointment to meet him and show him the SOLD car. Turns out that he decided to drive down anyway and already saw the car had a big red sold sign. After that, manager calls to apologize, "blah-blah third party, didn't realize." OVER IT. I sold cars. Your rep didn't want to get kinked and told him not to come because she wasn't gonna be there. Then you tried to get him out there under false pretenses to try and sell him some other car? Man... the only reason you got TWO stars was because you called back. Fail at every other opportunity. read more

This review is about Rich Willhoff and his staff in the service department. It's rare to find a dealer willing to work on non-stock vehicles - so when I heard they could support my 80%-track Z06 Corvette I was very surprised. As great as my BMW motorsport techs are, they just don't know this platform like Rich & team. The Abel team un-bungled the ride height adjustments made by me, and got me the right setup. Had the best experience today getting my car serviced! After I ran out of my free oil change with my original dealership (which I'm not a fan by the way) I was looking for the best place to start taking my car! From start to end I was greeted with smiling faces and upfront quote at Abel Chevrolet and Buick! They were super fast (homegirl is busy and doesn't have time to wait 2 hours at a dealership) and did an amazing job taking care of my baby I mean... they even have a dog there?? What else can a girl ask for? I was walked to the waiting area where coffee, chocolate and water awaits for you! I highly recommend taking the beautiful drive to see them, you'll be very well taken care of and extremely satisfied! Honestly one of the best dealerships I have gone to get to get my car serviced I have a 2003 Corvette and I just truly fell in love when they said they were able to fix my car and help me service it for a very reasonable price. I called ahead of time and spoke with John and he told me that I was able to get my code cleared that was storing on my dash on the Corvette and the day I had to go in John was at the front desk and he made me feel so welcomed and made sure I was getting the understanding of what was going to happen to the car how long it'll take what are the necessary steps. Overall I just love the way John made me feel welcomed and how the service department fix my car within a matter of 30 minutes highly recommend everyone going to this Chevrolet place read more
