One of the first prep "to do's" was to find a reliable window washing co with consistent, stellar, customer reviews, and I found that when I contacted Patrick, the Owner of Green Window Cleaning! Patrick patiently answered all my questions and then texted me a list of days & times. My appt landed the day before Thanksgiving & Edwin showed up. At first, I was taken aback because I thought it would be a crew of 3, but with Thanksgiving travel, Edwin cheerfully & confidently was my guy! He set about cleaning the very dirty solar panels, then began cleaning the screens, taking them off of the windows + the extra screens we had. He then diligently worked on all the outside windows, replaced the screens before coming in to clean the inside windows. Throughout, when he finished one portion, like the solar panels, he let me know, but I occasionally checked and he was diligently working away. We chit-chatted a bit before he tackled the basement windows. He even scrubbed the front door w/out me even thinking to ask for that. He encouraged me to let him know if I saw something to be redone. Two windows on the first floor had a few streaks, which he promptly addressed. Their company uses ionized water which meant there were no spots. Because it was just him, it took about 7+ hrs as opposed to the typical 4 hr window w/a full crew. In the end? I got what I paid for and became their next satisfied customer! The price was as quoted, no upsell + the quoted $ per solar panel. Payment was easy through Venmo. I elected to tip him w/cash, but tips can be added in Venmo. About tipping. I'm not a fan of the auto-tip grab. That being said, this guy got to work, didn't take a break (that I saw, but would have been okay with a lunch break), so I happily tipped him. Not only did they clean it, they took it apart and got under the track to remove construction sawdust from 8-9 years ago when my apartment building was constructed.
