We shut off electric via the main breaker. We waited awhile then turned our breaker back on and all our lights were blinking and our stove had an alarm that said "bad line". We turned the power back off and called Service Today & fire department. Service today said to call fire department and they needed to check house before Service Today could send someone. After the fire department cleared my house, I called Service Today while fire department was still in my living room. Service Today now stated they didn't have anyone to send today, next available day was Monday. Yesterday was Saturday and they couldn't send anyone until Monday. The irony in their company name, Service Today. The firemen told me to get back on google and find another electrician. So I did, and next name that showed was Mike's Electrical Co. I called Mike and explained my situation. He said I wished you called me 10 minutes earlier, I was just in Salisbury. He said he was on his way home to wife & kids. Without hesitation, he said I am on my way. He arrived within 20 minutes. Long story short, he came, checked the outlets, checked our breaker box, then checked the smart meter from Delmarva Power. He said the good news is, this is a Delmarva Power issue. On the meter it read 135 volts on one side and 103 on other side. He told me to call Delmarva Power and report an outage. We did and they sent an electrician from Delmarva Power. Our lines are underground and having discovered a break underground, he called the locator team to pinpoint the break. Seven hours later, having dug up the yard to repair our electricity, we have electricity. Thank you to Mike for being so kind, professional and caring during our time of confusion. Mike helped us quickly to determine the issue and how to resolve issue for free since it was a Delmarva Power issue and the house was not getting adequate power. I paid Mike for his time and will call him back this week to switch out some outlets. Thank you so much Mike!

I still think it's BS that they would do any work without giving an estimate first but at least the customer service was decent. They offered to refund but since they did the work we don't feel right taking the refund. We just would have appreciated being asked for approval to do the work in the first place. We asked Rays and Sons to come out for an estimate. They came out. Said they'd be back in a week. In that time we NEVER got an estimate so we thought they were coming back to look into it further/troubleshoot a problem and then give an estimate. Nope. They came back out (again, never gave an estimate), did some minor work that looked more like troubleshooting to find out what the work was going to be and then give an estimate. Instead we were hit with a $400 bill for barely any work! Absolutely ridiculous. No way in hell we will ever use them again. This is the second time we've called them for something. The first time seemed pricey but it was work we needed done immediately and didn't have time to look around for a better option. Listen to me when I say take the time and find someone else!

Now that I think of it, my first visit from them was my first day in this house. They were able to figure out why my water was not hot and repaired the water heater. Whew! Most of the work they've done for me has been similar, but all quick and easy. Then, as in subsequent repair visits, I was charged a minimal amount for a maximum output of work. These men are all obviously very good at what they do, especially when what they do is a bit of everything that you might need done.

They did excellent work, cleaned up, and even though I was told that I would need to repair siding outside the house when they were done, they took extra special care when doing the work, and I didn't have to have anything done on the siding at all. They have since come out to do more work and they never disappoint.

Billing was another issue--service call lasted 2 hrs and billed for 3 hrs (for both technicians)--so 6 hrs/$90 per for just under two hours work. When I contacted Dover office on whether hourly billing possibly included travel time, receptionist/manager stated 1-time service charge took care of that. She couldn't explain the extra hour(s) billed nor much else. Asked for mgmt to call me back--never heard from them. I recommend you find your electrical contractor elsewhere--I'll never use or refer anyone to this company again.
