The saleswoman in the store was very nice, knew her products, and showed me several products without pushing me to buy any specific product. I not only bought a new stove, but planned to go back for my husband's flatscreen and a new washer/dryer.
Delivery was awful. We had a water line valve leak at my home the morning of delivery, so had to turn our water off to the house. I was on my last clean baby bottle plus had a toddler. I had not gotten a delivery time, so I called soon after they opened, and was given a 4 hour delivery window. I explained our situation, and asked if it would be possible to know roughtly where I was at on the delivery list, to see if I had time to run to a family member's house to wash the bottles, clean up the boys and return before my husband took my car and left for work later that morning. I was told there was no way to do that, and I had to be able to sign for the delivery as soon as 45 minutes from the call. That was understandable, my water leak was not their problem.
At 3:30, more than 5 hours after my initial phone call and well outside of the very generous delivery timeframe, I called the store to see where the delivery was. At that time, I was told that they started 4 hours late and would arrive when they got to it. (According to this time frame, the store knew this during my morning phone call.) I asked the person on the phone line about getting a refund, I was transferred to a Manager, who said it was no problem to simply ask the driver where my delivery stood. I was immediately called back and advised there was one more delivery ahead of me, and they would be here withinin 45 minutes.
An hour and a half later, the delivery driver finally called to say if they hurried, they could be there in 45 minutes. There was apparently no hurry. An hour and fifteen minutes later they showed up. I had to stop them while I made sure the appliance was free of dents or major scratches, as my warranty pamhlet I had been given the day of purchase said any obvious condition problems should be written on the receipt when I signed for it. This check only took a few seconds, but I was advised to just call later if I found any, and the deliverymen were out the door.
Had there just been a quick phone call at sometime during the day to say there was a delay, it would have been fine. Knowing they were already 4 hours behind when I called from a home with two small children and no stove or water, and telling me they could not help me at all, them showing up 8 hours later with no apologies was unacceptable. Apart from the manager, the attitude was somewhat flippant. If I had not already had someone waiting in my home to hook up the stove, I would absolutely have just asked for a full refund. I will absolutely never return. read more
