Wow. Just wow. Food…read moreis poor quality. It's like "apathy-on-a-plate". Very small portions, and it's clear not everything is from scratch. It looks nothing like the photos on their website. Now granted, I ordered delivery. I have not met the owners or experienced their in-house service. Maybe I just had a messed up order. It happens. But the only delivery option was SkipTheDishes. They delivered to the wrong house. I walked around in the rain from house to house, looking for our food. Skip refunded the order, but by the time I found it, my dinner was cold. The driver wasn't even in the same complex. Even adjusting for the delivery error, it's still the responsibly of the restaurant owner to see everything from the customer's standpoint. This failed on every measure except price, because it ended up being free. And it still wasn't worth it. I want new businesses to succeed, and I would like this one to as well. But you simply cannot be successful if you do not care.

We pulled into town and immediately saw a Syrian restuarant. I was in my element…read more This is home made, gently seasoned Syrian food (non spicy). It reminded me of trips to the Middle East and food I've had in the homes of Syrian friends. The lentil soup was dairy free, blended with warm, fragrant seasonings. Comfort food in a bowl. The lamb/beef kebabs done beautifully with creamy hummus, fresh salad and pita. Syrian coffee was original, as is served in the Middle East, with cardamon seeds. A pristinely clean restaurant and one of the finest Syrian meals I have had in my life. Shukran, Waeel!

Number 8 of our adventure - King Kabob Restaurant - May 1,…read more2021 Once again, we had to do a takeout for our latest culinary adventure. We have been concentrating on finding restaurants in the city of Abbotsford so we can limit our traveling, trying to keep safe during Covid. So, this time around it was Georgine's pick and she chose The King Kabob. This is a Persian restaurant that is very near to Georgine's place so we picked the food up and ate it at her place. This food was so fresh and healthy. Nothing is fried and everything was so tasty. We all found the fresh salad with the slightly sweet and wonderful yogurt dressing so refreshing. The meal portions were very generous. We ordered a side of Dolma's these were made with split peas, rice and herbs they were absolutely delicious. They would make a nice light lunch along with a salad. Sadie's choice was the Queen Kabob. This was a skewer of marinated and flame broiled top sirloin and skewer of marinated chicken (Bakhtiari). This came with fluffy basmati rice, salad, pita and humus. She was pleased with her meal. Deb chose the Koobeede Kabob with was two seasoned minced beef skewers along with the rice, salad, humus and pita. She did think that next time she would ask for the extra spicy version, although she enjoyed her meal very much, she wants to try the spicier version. We were given the choice of regular, medium spicy and extra spicy for all of our meals. Georgine chose the lamb shank that was falling off the bone tender and had a delicious perfectly seasoned gravy. This meal came with a salad and a basmati rice that was mixed with lima beans and dill that was so very flavorful. Georgine said she is going to try recreate this rice dish. This was an excellent restaurant and we all loved their food. Next time we go after the Covid restrictions we will know what to expect. So good! We all give the King Kabob a solid 5 out of 5 stars.

I will definitely be back whenever I'm in Abbotsford BC.

My husband had the kibbeh platter with the same accompaniments. We both loved our dishes. The staff were friendly. We returned a few nights later, but found we would have to do takeaway as seating was too limited. This time I tried the chicken platter with rice. While it was very tasty, the rice was quite oily and it repeated on me later, so I wouldn't buy this entree again. Overall though the food quality and taste is quite good. If I were to advise the owners, I would tell them to remove the large tables and place smaller ones. We would have been able to dine in if 2 large tables were replaced with 4 smaller ones.

Best fresh Shawarma in Langley!…read more Authentic Middle Eastern food and absolutely delicious every time. We just discovered this little gem of a restaurant when walking down the "One Way" portion of Fraser Highway. It is tucked in close to Salt Lane. We have visited several times now and each time the food and flavour profiles have been delicious and well presented. We have tried the shawarma, quozi (sp?). kanafe, falafel wraps, okra soup (served with rice) and Lamajeen (breakfast pizza of sorts). The portions sizes are good and the food comes out freshly prepared each time. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and are one of the first restaurants open in the mornings on the "one way". Shahzarad has options to satisfy most people (hallal meat, vegetarian choices, pasta or fries options (perhaps for kids whose palates may not be too adventurous yet ;). The service is friendly and polite. We were left with time to enjoy our meal and never felt rushed. If you are looking for great food in a casual dining environment, then this is for you. :) Free wifi and street parking. Update: you can also order on Uber, Skip and Door Dash

Saha poutine had tons of interesting toppings, from halloumi to tahini to fried onions. Very substantive and easy to pretend it's a bit healthier than most poutines. Service was quick and friendly, and the restaurant was clean and modern with a nice indoor/outdoor space. A more casual restaurant that's great for a laid back lunch or dinner.

Knowing that Lebanese food is my favorite of all this was one of our first stops in my two weeks stay. This is a family owned place with the owners behind the counter and working in the kitchen, they appear to be husband and wife, and they couldn't be more friendly or kind. They were so very nice to us and answered all of our silly questions. The food here is magnificent! I had never had tabouli fries before, that was the first. My buddy said their fries were excellent and they are, they are double fried and very crunchy. That is my favorite kind of fry. Pillowy soft on the inside too. The beef-lamb shawarma was special. We got the one with the hot sauce and added more. We are both also chilli heads. I will absolutely be bringing my wife here when we return to the island in the fall. Yalla is 5 stars all the way. Lots of locals in and out while we dined. They know this place is special.
