Today, I was coming in to Hope to work a shift at my folks' restaurant and my back tire got shredded. I brought my car in the afternoon and they told me that I would get my car back the next day. I asked if there is any way to get the car back tonight since my parents moved to Chilliwack and I live in Vancouver so I'd be stranded In Hope. If you happen to be in the area and need an oil change (or perhaps have some car trouble whilst vacationing in nearby Harrison Hot Springs)... this is THE place to go. These guys go out of their way to fix your car, in record time, and they even give it a bath once their done. Not only are their prices killer (e.g., oil change, summer tire installation, break check, loose belt adjustment, fluid top up and car wash... for almost half the price of what I paid for a simple oil change at a typical "drive-in oil change" place in Vancouver). Sweet eh? I think the thing I love most about the folks here is that they point out stuff that honestly needs to be fixed and give you an estimated time of when fixing is actually needed (i.e., your timing belt and water pump are needing replacement - Mazda says next week, but honestly, you can go another 10K if you don't have the cash now).... all without actually expecting you to let them do the work. They simply care for you to know what your car needs to keep running smoothly. Weird eh??? (I simply can't handle places that do the work without consulting you and then expect that you'll be pleased they replaced half the stuff under your hood for a bill that's only triple of what you expected). Anyway, long and the short of it... I love this place. I plan my trips into the area around my oil change and tire rotation needs (seriously).

We have 2 Dodges, a Hemi Charger Daytona R/T, and Durango R/T, and both have been in his shop on a number of occasions. Not only has his work been top notch, but he has been able to swiftly trouble shoot problems and correct them all within his estimated quotes or better. Any suggestions he makes beyond the job at hand have been truly for my best interest, and not a cheap up-selling tactic. His office is retro styled with a jukebox and 50's diner flair, and the wall shows his incredible past as a Trophy winning circuit racer and lots of history at the old Langley Speedway - Ron knows cars! He has always finished a job by thanking me for bringing him business. Total class. We frantically called around on a Saturday late afternoon of the long weekend and Gerry's Automotive was the ONLY place that would check the diagnostic. Turns out we needed an alternator and it was 3:30pm when we arrived (they close at 5pm) We were extremely grateful they drove to parts store to pick up new alternator and installed it, we were gone by 5pm. If they wouldn't have gone out of their way for us, we would have have to stay in a hotel for another 2 nights, miss work and and school Monday to get our truck looked. They didn't give the rental car I was promised, even though I was assured, the day before, that it was booked. They promised my car would be ready on a Sunday. It wasn't. Unseen damage. Isnt that their job to see/estimate it? I went in the next day when it was promised again, but again, not ready. I called the next day and they had "run out of double sided tape". Finally I was told I could pick it up on Thu at noon, but again, it wasn't ready! To add to all those broken promises, I asked them to "buff out" the many little scratches on the paint. I had to pay $500. for it myself as it wasn't part of the claim. It was all clean and shiny, but the scrapes were still there. I felt ripped off.
