    The condition of the door after Abbott West replaced the latch after a break in.

    Pics attached are the door to my broken in and entered unit, and of the covered up security camera in the hallway. Do not ever rent out a unit or form a rehearsal space at Abbott West (3020 Charlotte Ave). I rent out a 10'x15' climate-controlled unit to hold band rehearsals, and received a call from the office on January 15th, telling me how our unit got broken into, along with approximately 50 other units. Having conspicuous cameras all around the campus and inside each climate controlled building, I figured that they could have used the footage and presented some evidence to the cops. I was wrong. Their outdoor cameras don't work, even though they advertise that they are a secure facility. Do you want to know how robbers were able to drive undetected into the facility and break into 50 different units? The front and only gate has been left open 24 hours a day, for MONTHS! I asked them about this concern before I moved in, and they stated how the gate company was behind on their repairs. This is where Abbott West feels their security responsibilities end. They keep the front gate in a fixed position all the way open, they do not hire security to post up at the entrance at night (often a time where bands are able to meet up and rehearse), their cameras do not work, and they overcharge you to occupy a "climate-controlled" unit! They keep their climate-controlled units at 54 degrees, telling me that any more than 60 degrees would cost them too much money. What a joke. The unit stayed at 54 degrees from the beginning of fall, until I called and asked them to bump it up at the end of December. 6 degrees was all they were able to spare. What an insult to someone who is paying $292 every thirty days. I have paid an estimated $4,236 to these people over the past two years (had a climate controlled unit for a year prior to covid), and apparently they feel that 54 degrees and no security is the "value" they bring to the table for that amount. When I asked what Abbott West was planning to do about the break-in, they told me they replaced the latch and lock on our unit, and that was all. I sent an email stating that I would like to see 3 months of free rent, they said no and that's all they could do about it. I went down to the office and asked for one free month of rent due to them not meeting their minimum responsibilities of being a "secure facility", and Dale said there's nothing they were willing to do about it, and if I don't like it, I could move out. I left and inspected my unit again before going back home, and I discovered that Abbott West STILL hasn't taken down the laminate piece of paper the robbers used to cover up the cameras!!! Refer to the pics I posted. The break-in happened January 14-15, and the pics were taken on 1/24. So here we are. I am moving out due to Abbott West's negligence of security, the treatment of their customers, and for major overall operational flaws in their business model. If you are in a band and feel that risking your personal safety while in a nighttime rehearsal is okay; or if you'd like to store your stuff in a facility with no gates and only a padlock on your door as the security, I highly recommend Abbott West. If you value your hard earned money and want a place that will provide adequate security and safety, go anywhere else.

    The staff was very willing to work with me! I had a very unexpected move that came up, and they helped me out of a very tight spot!

    The staff is very unprofessional and despite them bragging about improvements, it is still dark and nasty and freakin expensive!!!

I moved out of Extra Space Storage on Saturday, and the experience was terrible. The closest elevator, which, according to reviews has been out for months and they've done nothing about it, the elevator to my unit on the fourth floor was out of order, so everyone had to use one faraway elevator. That was not properly communicated ahead of time, and it made the move take twice as long as it should have. Because of that extra time and extensive walking, I had to pay around $400 to $450 more in moving costs. My veteran father was there helping me, but the walk was too far for him physically, so he had to sit outside in a chair because he could not keep walking back and forth. My 3-year-old granddaughter was also with me, and when the leasing agent left for an extended time without unlocking the bathroom, we had to go across the street to the fire station just to use the restroom. I emailed corporate and got no response, and I was told they are not going to do anything. This location should be held accountable for the inconvenience and cost they caused. I'm leaving this review so other people know not to just keep contacting corporate, but to also report issues to the Tennessee Attorney General's office.

I'm a federal employee directly impacted by the current government shutdown, which has left me without income through no fault of my own. I'm currently three months behind on payments due to financial difficulties, and the shutdown has made my situation even more dire. I contacted Erica hoping to arrange a payment plan and offered to make a good faith payment to demonstrate my commitment to settling my account once the government reopens and I receive back pay. Unfortunately, Extra Space Storage refused to work with me and plans to auction my unit on November 12th if I cannot pay in full--which is impossible given that I have no paycheck coming in during the shutdown. I'm struggling to afford groceries, let alone storage fees. It's disheartening that a national company would show zero compassion for federal workers caught in circumstances completely beyond their control. I understand businesses have policies, but the inability to offer any flexibility during a government shutdown affecting thousands of employees speaks volumes about their priorities. I hope potential customers consider how this company treats people during times of genuine crisis

I am extremely disappointed once again by another business that is basically a scam. Once upon a time I was extremely grateful to find this place, but now it is now one of my deepest regrets.

AJ, a female "manager" at this company is horrific. Truly. We ended up cancelling and moving out of a large unit that we rented just two days after move-in due to the harassing and unprofessional nature that AJ carried herself with. When my girlfriend and I were moving things in, she immediately targeted her. Unsure on if it was motivated by a "bad day" or some other prejudice. She was way too interested in the contents of what we were storing... why would an employee be so interested in what you are leaving unattended? Spoiler alert: it was tools and materials that wouldn't fit in our garage. Kind of the exact reason storage units exist. Next came the name calling and her aggressive conversation. It seemed an awful lot like she wanted to pick a fight. The final straw was meeting another customer who had a unit on the same floor as us. He said he had similar hostile interactions with AJ. He said that she has repeatedly yelled at him, sometimes with a microphone, and that apparently its a commonly known issue at this location. Rod - I hope whoever owns this locations sees this and puts you in a stronger position over there. Whoever is deciding to keep AJ employed.... mistake.
