Unacceptable Service - No Work Done, Just a Baseless Opinion The plumber dispatched to my home through American Home Shield was completely unprofessional and unhelpful. He did not inspect, test, or even attempt to diagnose the plumbing issue I was experiencing. Instead, he took one look and claimed it was a broken pipe--without using any tools or performing any kind of assessment. Asked for an invoice he sent me a text with a picture of a yellow invoice stating a broken pipe and it's gonna cost 7000 to 9000 dollars pulled the fee and diagnosed it out his ass!!!! I called another plumber paid out of pocket for the clean up resolve and further inspection!!! I asked for a detailed invoice of the issue as I want it resolved they sent me an invoice picture via text message --how professional!!! This conclusion was based on a previous visit, not on the actual issue I called about. He was in and out in minutes, offering no help and leaving me with no answers. Because of the urgency of the situation, I had to hire my own licensed plumber, who came out, actually diagnosed the problem, and fixed it--something this contractor should have done in the first place. This kind of careless behavior is dangerous and a waste of customers' time and money. If you're working with this company, be warned: you may get a shrug and an excuse instead of real help. We hired Aaron's plumbing to unclog a pipe so the toilet could flush. Zecharah Perez from Aaron's plumbing partially cleared the pipe so that the toilet flushes. Then told us that we had a broken pipe and gave us a quote for $5000 to fix it, which does not include digging the 15 ft trench. Including the trench, it would cost between $12,000 to $15,000. He said during the hydrostatic test, the water holds. But since there is still debris in the pipe, which is very close to the toilet but he chose not to bother to take them out, he can't "pass" the hydrostatic test. We need a passing hydro static test for the foundation repair company's warranty to take effect. So we hired another plumbing company. The master plumber Mark from Silverback Plumbing and Drain did the hydrostatic test. Once the test was done, all the debris was gone and the hydrostatic test did pass. And mark took out a piece of the flange which was in the pipe. And he only charged us about $500 including the hydrostatic test and using the auger to take out the piece of flange while Zeck charged us $500 to partially clear the pipe. I asked him to refund the money. But he refused claiming that he did what he was hired to do. But the pipe was not cleared and if someone uses the bathroom with number two and with enough toilet paper, it would have clogged again immediately. Furthermore, had we trusted his judgement that there was a broken pipe, would would have unnecessarily wasted at least $12,000 and cost a lot of inconvenience to the tenants and perhaps would have caused structural damage to the foundation. read more

Good luck contact them. American Home Shield will set them up to go out and repair your home. There's no way to contact them. They use a call center to handle their calls. The call center has no access to what's going on with your service request, and will only "pass on your message". Aaron's Plumbing never gets back to you. You're stuck dealing with a middle man and never getting through the actual company or a technician. Worst experience ever. I guess there's no need for quality when you've got AHS paying your bills. Edit: After further communication with AHS, Aaron's Plumbing is NOT open on weekends. I was very skeptical about using this company because of all the bad reviews they have but I decided to give them a try instead of calling AHS back to request another contractor. To my amazement it was a very good experience that deserves 5 stars and here's why. Patty called me the same day I put in the service request to schedule the appointment, and on the day of the appointment Ray called to let me know he was headed my way. When he and Josh arrived I showed them the leak from the toilet and he said it was the wax ring. Ray & Josh went to work on replacing the wax ring which took about 30 minutes and cleaned up when they were done. Aaron Plumbing finally called me Sunday evening around 430pm and said they could be at my house the following day, Monday between 10am and 1pm. No call, no show. Aaron's plumbing did a horrible job in replacing a copper water pipe that had a small leak. I spoke to Pat and Jerry the serviceman and told them the water was still coming through the pipe as the pipe ends were not saudered and Jerry put a clamp on the pipe ends instead. The plumber said he had over 30 years of experience; however the issue still is not fixed. Jerry called and said he was on his way and never showed up. Aaron's is a shitty contractor. The bigger problem is American Home Shield still using them and trying to push them on customers. I requested service and they were the ones that came up. When I called AHS and told them I had issues in the past with Aaron's, they told me that was the only contractor for "my area". I did not like the wat that sounded. I told AHS to get someone else or cancel my AHS contract. I just canceled on another residence and did not have a problem cancelling this one either. They scheduled another contractor, but only after this unnecessary teeth pulling exercise with the service rep. I'm eventually going to dump AHS. They are charging more every year and providing less with more restrictions. Then you have crappy contractors to boot. Not worth it. read more

Highly unprofessional. They came once for an assessment, took their money and left the kitchen sink with lower pressure than when they started. They claimed they came to our place for a follow up appointment but in fact they just never showed up. My wife called them twice with water issues (we have American Home Shield) and the experience was so negative that she quickly did a Yelp search. Fortunately we skipped having them come out at all and just took the phone calls as an omen. Aaron did a major project for us. He replaced all of the waste pipes and the main sewer line. The work involved removing concrete, digging deep trenches and replacing all of the plumbing. He spent extra time ensuring that the slope of the gravity fed wast and sewer lines was perfect. If the slope is incorrect your waste pipes will never work as well as they should. The plumbing was installed perfectly. The cement was replaced to match the existing cement. The cement work was top quality - as good as a cement contractor. The holes in the stucco were perfectly patched. Aaron is the best plumber I have ever had! read more

Hate to pile on, but I'm piling on. Usually, I give companies the benefit of the doubt, but not this time. Aaron's Plumbing was assigned to me, like everyone else, by American Home Shield. They reached out to me ONCE and left a message, and I returned their phone call and left a message as well. Then I waited. And waited. About three days later, still no call back. So I called them again. And left ANOTHER message. And again, I waited for another couple of days. No call back. So I decided to log on to my AHS account to see if there was anything going on. Sure enough, Aaron's had marked that they were unable to reach me and were canceling the service call, which was totally ridiculous as this was completely untrue. I called AHS and told them that I still had the issue, but that I wanted a new contractor assigned to my case based on all of the reviews and my experience with Aaron's, which they happily obliged. Whoever the old, grumpy person Aaron's Plumbing sent to fix my bathroom sink was horrible, unprofessional and very rude. He continuously dropped his heavy tools on my ceramic floor even after I asked him not to do it. He was supposed to replace the missing stopper and I ended up with a leak under the sink. He did not clean up and left his shoe marks on my newly installed bathroom doors, left splotches of whatever he was using to install the stopper all over the sink and walls and the base of the vanity was soaking wet. He did not fix the other issue with the tub which was the stopper didn't work, He couldn't fix it and told me that if I am not using the stopper then why fix it and to keep taking a shower. This was a vendor from American Home Shield, so if you call them for a plumbing issue, make sure they don't send anyone from Aaron's Plumbing. read more

Worst experience in my life. I initially called American Home Shield. I had a previous tenant staying there and my plumbing was clogged. i wanted to know what was covered by AHS, and what I could hire the plumbing crew to do. AHS said they needed to come and do an assessment. Jerry cam e to my house and before even going in said my scheme will not work. Telling me i bought a home warranty and then renovated my home which is none of his concern. He then refused to give me an assessment and spoke over me. Rudest man I ever met. As a woman, i was deeply disrespected by the lack of regard to information provided to me. He was so very unprofessional and proceeded to send me threatening text messages about calling the City and having someone inspect my place. Basically, everything that everyone else said. Someone should tell American Home Shield about a company called yelp where they can actually vet plumbers before contracting wth them. This was one of two plumbers contacted through AHS that were unable to correctly diagnose the issue and propose a legitimate solution. The answering service lady was fully more concerned with the beaurocratic details of how and when the insurance would pay for the visit than the actual fixing of the problem. This plumber told us a valve was broken in our shower and we would have to bust through tile to fix the issue. I give 2 stars instead of 1 for being slightly less incompetent than the second plumber who came and claimed that there was no water running trough the pipes. Save your time and effort and call Apex plumbing, the company that sent the 3rd plumber that fixed the issue fully in 2 hours (no tile breaking necessary). read more

Like other reviewers, I scheduled Aaron's Plumbing through my home warranty provider AHS. On two separate occasions I was given a window of 9AM - 11AM for them to show up. The first time, the plumber arrived around 1PM (so, two hours late), spent 10 minutes looking at the problem, and said he couldn't help. So that's $75 and half a day lost. Ended up calling Blanton Plumbing, who came and fixed the problem. Much more expensive but at least they showed up and got it done. The second time, the plumber called at 11:30 (already half an hour late) to say he would be there in "about an hour." We just gave up and cancelled in favor of using Blanton again. Don't waste your time with Aaron's Plumbing. Side note: I won't be renewing with American Home Shield, either, based on the obviously poor quality of the contractors they choose to work with. read more

This company was contracted through American Home Shield and they are the WORST. My garbage disposal was not working which was causing other issues. I placed a service request via AHS, they assigned me Aaron's Plumbing. They came out on July 22 and ended up replacing the garbage disposal. Fast forward to last week out of nowhere the thing started leaking a ton of water. I have been calling to get someone back out and have been getting the runaround. As an American Home Shield customer (not for long) I also had the displeasure of an Aaron's plumbing visit for my broken water heater. I had already had it independently inspected by a friend in the business, but when the Aaron's plumbing guy (Sam) came by, he reported to AHS that there would be $600 of "Special Modifications" needed for my job that AHS wouldn't cover. This is the most straightforward job, replacing a standard 50 gallon tank residential water heater, and they were trying to bilk me for (I quote) a "power modification" at $300 (presumably this charge is to plug in the exhaust fan), a "hot 'n cold modification" at $149 (I only need the hot, I've got plenty of cold water right now) and a "temperature and pressure modification" at $149 (somehow the temperature modification is separate from the hot 'n cold modification... but I digress). I called American Home Shield, and they said they couldn't do anything about the extra charges, that they were things that weren't covered under section D4B of my contract. This is the most vile business experience I've had in a good while, and I hope that this brief rant steers other would-be customers away from doing business with the criminals at Aaron's Plumbing, and American Home Shield. read more

American Home Shield sent a plumber out to take a look at my tank, and he spent probably a grand total of 30 seconds in my home to go ahead and determine that my issue was due to me bumping the tank (nope) or humidity levels changing (nope again). He basically ran out the door as I was still asking questions, and the coverage was denied. I received a second opinion from a different plumber (Done With Pride Plumbing), who fixed it THAT DAY within a few hours and his assessment of the toilet led us to having it covered by the insurance. So please, use literally ANY other plumber than Aarons Plumbing. read more

The guy could not repair it but ended up breaking something on the tank and water was everywhere in my basement. If I could give negative stars then I would. I was given this plumbing Company by American home shield as everyone else has been. The first time that I call for my whirlpool tub the technician stated that it was a simple fix by just resetting the GFCI outlet. The GFCI outlet was set but it still did not work he then stated that the motor had to be repaired. He took a picture of the motor and then left he also stated that within two days he will be back with the new motor he never came back. I then contacted America home shield again this time stating that I did not want that company back because they did not do anything. What is the American home shield sent them again this time it was another plumber that stated that he did not have the right tools for the job so he stated that he would by the correct tools which was a common Wrench that all plumbers should have. He stated that he will be back two days later he never came back I contacted the company again and stated that they never returned. American home shield contacted them yet again to tell them to return to fix the problem. They then came back with an empty box stating that the box contained the motor. I kicked the box to the side and found out it was empty. He then pulled the old motor out and stated that he had the wrong motor. I told him to put everything back so that we can still use the tub. He stated OK and my wife watched him put the motor back in but he did not connect anything unknown to my wife. He then stated that he had to remove tile from the side to connect a clamp. The clamp should not of been removed. He stated that he will be back in two days but he never showed yet again. I have contacted Better Business Bureau I will also contact the state of Illinois Attorney General to have their license pulled read more

YELPER BEWARE!!! If you value your life, STAY AWAY!! We had a water heater leak and this dreadful company was assigned to us from our home insurance company. The water heater was installed but they did not close the valves properly that was connected to the water heater. When we tried to reach out to them to fix it. They sent someone out and they said they did't smell the gas. We tried to get them to come back on the same day and they were not having it. The gas company ended up coming over to turn off our gas. Peoples Gas also discovered that when Aarons took off the dryer gas line they reinstalled it in a twisted fashion that caused more leaking gas. We then hired a professional and licensed company the next day to get the job done right. read more

Got stuck with Aaron's through my home warranty company. First day they were scheduled to come out they never showed up and never called. Dispatcher said they were running behind and they forgot to call. That wasted my day waiting for them. Second appointment (same issue) the plumber showed up VERY late, and without what he needed to do the job, even though I gave a complete and thorough explanation. Third call saw a competent plumber show up and accomplish what was needed, although it wasn't a repair - just an assessment of what needed to be repaired. So I thought this ordeal was behind me, only to fine Aaron's never had a record of me paying them the required deductable, even though they cashed the check I handed the plumber on the day he was there. While they did correct that oversight, contacting them was never easy. I have since asked that this Aaron's be removed from the list of contractors assigned by my warranty company. read more

This company is a scam. They wanted an additional payment of $497 to put in a water heater. Their own plumber said it was a routine slide in without additional charge. Have witness to prove it. Then I received the call from a rude woman who said modifications needed. In my opinion, they are scam artists. They did not come when they said and refused to answer calls for 3 days. I called AHS and received a new plumber who installed the hot water on a Sunday with no modification charges. Put in just to prove my point. TERRIBLE. My lame home warranty company, American Home Shield, sent these people out to fix a leaking sink. The 'plumber' asked me to take cell phone photos and email to them so they could locate the part, since his phone doesn't take pictures. Maybe I should just perform the repair myself? Even after doing all the leg work, I had to chase them down to come back and finish the repair. Although that was done, the faucet still leaked. Had to set up a third appointment. Same guy told me that he didn't know how to remove the handle! He reported to AHS that THE ENTIRE SINK NEEDS TO BE REMOVED so that he can access the pipes beneath. RIDICULOUS! I ultimately hired my own contractor to come by and with a single allen wrench, he removed the handle, exchanged the cartridge inside, and all was fixed in about 10 minutes. Aarons wanted me to rip the sink out because this incompetent not-a-skilled-plumber, had NO IDEA what he was doing. read more
