Well where to start? My boyfriend used to work for Aaron's in NY as a Sales Manager, so I knew generally what I was getting into before I started. Aaron's furniture quality is generally crappy; couches are stapled, ya know..that sorta thing. So anyway we just moved to Alaska and didn't take any furniture so we decided to get an entertainment center and a TV that was pretty solid. The TV we were told was used, which was fine. However, the entertainment center was supposed to be new. Before signing the agreement I gave it a quick look over, the doors all seemed to be in place and everything looked alright. So we got it.
Upon delivery I watched the PT's unload the pieces of the entertainment center and saw one knock it into the side of their truck, which left a nice sized scratch. (This is a 4 piece, wood, entertainment center keep in mind.) When they assembled the pieces the PT then took out one of those wood colored marker filler things, sorry I'm not sure what they're actually called, and filled in that scratch and one I didn't notice before. Awesome! When they finished setting it up I noticed the backboard piece was popping off badly, it was stapled in, and asked them if they had a staple gun. They of course didn't.
So after they left I decided to do a more thourough inspection of the piece. Not only were there the 2 scratches that were filled in. At some point, either taking it down from the show room or putting it together in my home, they screwed one of the screws too tight and split the wood. And the major problem above all of that was one of the bottom doors the hinge was coming out and splitting the wood even more, completely ruining the cheap panel that constitutes as the front of the door.
So my boyfriend and I gave them a call a few weeks to a month later and let them know what was going on. They promised to send someone out to take a look. After not hearing from them for about 3 weeks we gave them a call again and were told they would have someone out within the next few days. Finally someone came. They were pleasant enough but informed me that the PT was fired, not for that but for poor performance, and that they'll order the pieces. Now another month later, still waiting on the pieces. I called last week and was told that the delivery truck wouldn't be here until this week. Now this week has come and gone and still nothing. This Monday they'll get their final chance then it's time to call corp.
Meanwhile I've had this piece for 4 months, paying for a new entertainment stand in used condition...All of my payments have been on time, except one was a day or 2 late, and they made sure to get a hold of me for that....so what's the problem here? read more
