We have been taking Marley, our weimaraner to Aardvarks since he was a pup. Marley is always eager to hit the front door and greet the workers. I get great updates from the staff when I pick him up and he always seems worn out and happy. We have had Marley boarded for as long as 2 weeks and never worried about him or his care. Marley has come home with Kennel cough on one occasion (he was current on Bordatella) so that is my only negative comment. I left my English bulldog Max aka "Chubs" there this past weekend while we took a trip to LA. Although he has been there many times for the day, This was his first time to stay overnight (3 nights) . I was a nervous wreck because as most people know, bulldogs are a little high maintenance and it was going to be pretty warm during the weekend. Not to mention this was his first time away from both my husband and I. When we picked him up today he was clean and well taken care of. They kept his folds clean, put his eye drops in daily and gave him a bath. Max is my baby , spoiled baby and I wouldn't just leave him anywhere. My puppy is completely deaf and when I took him there for the first time I was scared that he wasn't going to fit in. I explained to the staff there that I was so worried about that and they ease my worries. They told me that they would make sure he found a buddy that he would fit in. That no matter what make sure he had fun. Later they showed me pictures of him having a blast and I was really happy, made me feel way better . I love to take him there and I've been taking him there every time we go on vacation or just for him to have a fun day and he truly enjoys it. The staff there's kind to him they work with him. They don't treat him any different from the rest of the dogs. They love and baby all the dogs it's really sweet definitely a place to try out if you're looking for a place for your dog to feel comfortable while you're away. read more

This place is terrible! I called them because I needed my dog boarded and no one answered the phone so I left a message. Then I called the alternate # given on their machine and the same think happened. So that is a total of 2 messages leaving my phone # and asking for a call back and as of 2 weeks later, still no call! So I drive by the place today and see that they are indeed open so why don't they have the decency to call a customer back!! Great place. Stewie loves going here. They know he can be an "odd" pain in the ass pug, but they love him anyway. They will tell me how is day went and if he was sent to "time out" because the big dogs didn't want to play. Stewie goes to work with me everyday, so I send him here when we have clients in. We are from out of town and wanted to take the kids to six flags but had to make sure our puppy was having fun while we were out. So glad we found this place on Yelp. There were so welcoming and took very good care of our 4.5 month old sheepdog. We received a tour when we arrived and it looked great. Lots of outdoor space to run and play and an indoor area as well. There was a doggie birthday party while our puppy was there and she was given a goodie bag of treats when we picked her up - so cool. We will be bringing Pismo back next time we plan another Six Flags trip. read more

My brother in law found this place for us so I stopped by to get info. I wish I knew her name, but the front office lady was just so welcoming and very informative. This is our first dog and every time I tell people what kind of dog we have they are a bit hesitant. We needed help to make her a great addition to our family. So, we took our 4 month old German Shepard here for an evaluation the other day and she passed! In good time because we ended up needing her to do an overnight stay. I was at ease knowing we are happy with the staff here, so I had no worries. Anywho, this place and the staff made it an easy decision to bring our little (big) pup here. I wanted to update my post as Mokie has now done his first overnight stint at Aardvark's. I got exactly what I expected: a happy, well-exercised, and delightfully tired and contented dog when I picked him up the next morning. It didn't appear he missed me much as he was in no hurry to leave. He continues to go to daycare here once a week and I will be boarding him again within the next few weeks. In fact, I dropped him off this morning for daycare. He literally ran into the facility, and when Christina opened up the big white gate to let him in, he drug her into the playroom. He never once looked back at me. And this is how it goes every week when I drop him off... Prior to Aardvark's going 24/7, I had checked out most of the East Bay and Solano County daycare/boarding facilities and I truly feel Aardvark's is by far, the best. It's not just Janet's business, it's her passion. And, all you have to do to be convinced of this, is take your dog there for daycare a couple of times--then, just watch your dog's demeanor when he goes back. Amazing and genuine staff! I called Friday to ask if space was available for our goldendoodle. I wasn't aware that they would need to first meet your family pet before you can actually do drop offs,but Christina understood our situation that we were not from the area and came from LA for a family reunion just for the weekend. Our goldendoodle had an amazing time & made so many friends! I'm sure he played so much just like what Glenda told us cause he slept for a very long time the night we picked him up. First time to board my dog and she stayed here for 6 nights. They seemed to have everything covered and I was SOOOOO impressed with how the place is run and how clean it is! My dog came home well adjusted and even a little better behaved. They even let you pick up your dog up to 10pm, which really was convenient for me. Definitely a great place! read more

I take my three German Shepherds to Aardvark's and the whole staff there is fantastic!!! They absolutely love going there and get so excited as soon as we turn the corner headed to the facility. Given I have 3 Shepherds, this was the first doggie daycare for my pack and I was a little nervous to say the least. My pups went through an adjustment period but quickly fit right in. Each member of the staff takes the time and is patient to work with any dogs that may be a little anxious so they can experience a great place. I can't thank them enough for making my Bandit, Bravo and Princess feel welcomed each time they come. read more

I love this place! If I were to move away from Vallejo, I'd probably still take them here. I like that my babies get to hang out with other dogs and even have free roam when they stay overnight. It's a comfortable setting that somewhat eases the anxiety of my pets when they're away from home. I've worked at kennels and also currently work at a vet hospital, so I know how some pets can be when they are away from their parents. They are always honest about my pets behavior or mishaps that have happened during their stay, and I do appreciate that because I am not in denial about how difficult my pets can be at times. I also like that the employees here are familiar with dog training and use these methods with my pets to ensure they behave. Best place I have ever taken my pets to! read more

Never had a dog before, and take my little rescue Corgi's wealfare very seriously, and since he has been going to AArdvark's, he is a different dog. Everyone there expecially Janet the owner is so loving and caring to my little guy, and he has gained confidence, his social skills with all dogs are great, he has such a good time and looks forward to seeing all of his friends three days a week. He is never bored or mean, and is so well adjusted to all situations.The care that is given to my puppy is the best in the area, and everyone is so nice, and it makes me feel so good to know my puppy is happy when I am at work. The remarkable staff at Aardvarks Doggie Daycare saved my dog's life! Our black lab Rudy was staying overnight at their Mare Island location, when they noticed he was acting out of sorts. A member of the staff who was a trained veterinary assistant suspected he was suffering from bloat. They took him to Dr Laurie at the Animal Clinic of Benicia, she did emergency surgery, and Rudy is now in recovery. Dr Laurie said Rudy would have been dead in an hour if not for their quick action.Thank God for the folks at Aardvarks! read more

Judging by all the people who have asked me at the local dog park about my previous post, Yelp is really a good resource for people who love their pets. I felt I should post a follow up as my experience at Aardvarks really got worse. I did not realize the extent of my dog's injuries and trauma when I left the facility because I was not told the truth. I discovered the next day that it was not the cut on my pup's foot that gave him such pain it was because his TOENAIL HAD BEEN TORN OUT. I emailed the owner and three days later she told me 1) his toenail had been torn out when he tried to escape over a chain link fence (WHY?) and 2) my dog was not suitable to boarding (even though he has been boarded quite happily by a quality facility further away since he was seven months old). I know there was no attention paid to him in order for him to be so attacked that he would tear a nail out trying to escape. The fact that that had to be very painful and bled like crazy I have to let go of. What really freaks me out is that they LIED TO ME. No one shared the truth of his stay there and to this day I do not know what really happened other that he was dreadfully injured and traumatized by his stay there. The lack of integrity of this operation is appalling. If you take your beloved pet to this facility it is like taking your aged parent to a nursing home that is known for abusing the elderly. read more

I've taken my dog here 3 months ago for a month at least 2x a wk and noticed that every time he comes back to us, he always has cuts and wounds which later sent him to a vet and had to spend $150 to treat the infected wound.I asked them how he got the cuts and wounds, they just showed me a video on how my dog plays with another dog. Well ok, they're dogs. Then 2 wks later, I picked him up and they said he was isolated that day bec. He was coughing and blamed my dog for it when he was perfectly healthy and energetic when I took him there in the morning and days before that. That made me upset! Aside from another costly vet expense. My dog has always been indoors, very clean and not exposed with other dogs not until I started taking him to aardvarks. Well, I stopped taking him here but then after 3 months had decided to give it a try again. The owner said that he Does not know good manners and knocking out dogs. Hmm, That is weird and surprising for us. 3 days Before I took him here, I tried A daycare in Concord and even allowed us to watch him play and saw him socializing with other dogs without any problem. Well, now my dog is happier in Concord and mingles really well with other dogs in the dog park too. Aardvarks isn't the best place for my dog after all. read more
