It was like a little shimmer. I take my camera out with the flash on and sure enough it's reflecting that light back at me. I tear off the piece and closely inspect it and I'm positive that I had a little shard or metal baked into my bread crust. I'm not saying it'll bar me from ever going back but it did make me uneasy enough to be done eating an otherwise good sub.

My husband and I chose to pop in to this location for a quick meal between tournament baseball…read moregames because we have come to realize that the quality of the food at Jersy Mikes is consistently good and,,, reasonably priced. The store on Ulmerton Rd. In Largo, FL proved us correct. The store was orderly and clean and full of customers enjoying their meals. The welcoming atmosphere apparently encouraged them to find a seat and relax a while. We are creatures of habit... I always order the Italian with extra ham and no spicy ham, and a scoop of sweet peppers from the grill. My husband orders the Club, Mike's way, with extra onions and light mayo. The meal was very satisfying, but that wasn't only due to the quality ingredients. The two young men behind the counter, Ethan and Ollie were engaging and friendly, making the customers feel right at home. They knew the menu, skillfully prepared our orders, and were able to answer questions about a specialty sub, the hot ham. I am sure our experience was similar to others customers', and i hope the store owner/ manager finds a way to let her employees know how impressed we were

I'm definitely a sucker for fun drinks so love when huts have a lot of options. I always try their monthly frappe specials which are always 20 oz for $7. Sometimes I even add a scoop of protein to the frappes. I also love their protein shakes. My favorite is the peanut butter banana one. They also have some really delicious and creative matcha drinks. They use a very good matcha and you can definitely taste the difference. They offer some fresh fruit options for fruit smoothies, which is a plus for my toddler. We usually stop for a smoothie once a week as a ritual after my son's gymnastics class. More often than not I opt to come here for our after class drinks! Customer service seems better from my observations (I'm usually the one in the passenger's seat so I'm not directly interacting with the baristas). Crunchy's is a new-ish restaurant in town…read more To visit Crunchy's you will need to come to a cool thrifty crafty store called ReMade on Old Seward past Huffman. In between Huffman and DeArmoun road on the right hand side. There is a communal kitchen attached to the left of the store. Sometimes there's more than one business cooking out of them, but Crunchy's is in this space Thursday-Sunday. He said he's there to stay too. I came on Saturday 10/26 around 1:30-2pm. Almost all the tables were occupied with people waiting. We scanned the menu using a QR code. You can order online too. A lady came to take our order. They are fairly new and they had just been featured in the newspaper so I think they had been super busy and not used to it. They handled it very well though. The menu consists of a couple burgers, a chicken sandwich, and some milkshakes. Not a huge menu. The chef is a young and ambitious guy who loves to cook. He is very nice and personable. He makes the buns by scratch, all ingredients are organic and healthy. I got the cheese burger. When the food came out it wasn't particularly hot, more warm. My mom got the chicken sandwich and she said hers was hot in temperature so maybe it was a timing thing. The burgers came with fries, and they were barely warm as well. But overall the food was good. The bun was more of a roll type with texture and taste. The patty was cooked well, some pink in the middle so it wasn't overcooked. Had pickles which is a plus, as well as mustard and ketchup. I said no onions please. Overall the food was very good. I wish I had had more fries, there was a small amount. And I would have liked the burger to be a bit hotter in temperature. I was impressed with the homemade bun and the price point was $13 for the burger and $11 for the chicken sandwich was pretty good considering he makes everything. The menu is changing and ingredients/ the looks of things change as he navigated running a restaurant. He is active on Facebook so look Crunchy's up or just stop by to see a current menu. Hours are changing but as of last I believe Thursday and Friday they are open 5-8pm Saturday 11-8pm Sunday?
