Happened to find out the only restaurant open on thanksgiving night...and boy were we glad to try out their take out service as we had cut close to their closing time. Great friendly service, spacious and ethnic ambience and our order was ready on time for pickup. Noticed fairly busy during this chilly night in Carmel. We ordered basket of fresh yummy variety of breads, paneer butter masala, plain rice, which were all very tasty- they also packed paper plates and advised neighboring options for a bottle of cab when inquired. Definitely bookmarked for our next visit to the beautiful Carmel!

Visiting Monterey and Carmel by the Sea for the weekend, we were craving a hot, late night meal after an entire day of exploration. We hit the jackpot with Aabha Indian Cuisine! With many other restaurants closed, this gem was still open and it was so quiet around we even thought they were closed. Glad we decided to step right on in. Food was simply delicious. Medium spice chicken Tikka masala made us feel right at home! Garlic naan was fresh out of the even and tasted superb. Every bite of the other dishes were incredible and we enjoyed every bit of the entire meal. Plenty of parking right out front, service was prompt and fantastic, place was cleaner, ambience is great for any occasion including families, and we were nicely seated right next to their fireplace on a cold, cold night. We were extremely happy to have found this Indian restaurant during our weekend visit to Monterey and will definitely return the next time we're in the area!

We were EXTREMELY happy to find this spot for a great lunch in the Carmel area. We stopped in for lunch and enjoyed their lunch buffet that was hot, fresh, and very affordable. There was a great selection of dishes including a Tofu Masala, butter chicken, Chicken biryani, some lentils, salad and rice dishes. The naan was delivered to your table and very tasty as well. The big hit for me was the dessert. They had a mango pudding that was out of this world. I may be calling the restaurant if they can give me a hint of how to make it.

The food here is delicious. The service was good. I was met with a professional, polite, and efficient attitude. The ambiance is inviting and calm, but the dialogue can get quite loud gradually while seated near a window. The paneer was fresh with delectable spices and delicate, subtle flavors that go hand-in-hand with the naan. The naan was cooked well without being burned or overly toasted and the spices were complementary to the dish. Well done. I enjoyed this place and am looking forward to returning.

Ordered to go but I should've just eaten there bc the restaurant is so cute. The entire shopping center is so cute. I love that cute Carmel ambiance. The veg biryani was loaded with veg! Large portion, it was 3 meals for me. With the raita it was pretty good. For my tastes i would've liked a little more spice. Samosa were just ok. I didn't like the salmon with mango glaze. Only bc I didn't realize it was in a batter. I think if it was grilled for pan fried i would have loved it.

The worst restaurant we have been to so far! The service was terrible, to make it worse the food was awful. They made us wait for 30minutes before giving us a seat. The food was uncooked and the kheer was spoilt. The final straw was the price! It's ridiculously expensive!!!! The only thing going for them is the ambiance. What can one do with ambiance when the food and the service is that bad! ‍

We visited on Sunday. They were open for buffet. More chicken, lamb, fish items. Less options for vegans. Even the three vegetarian dishes had cream: cheese. So we could not eat but it could be a good option if your food choices are not restricted. They are open on Sunday and plenty of parking around them.

Three years ago, I fell in love with this place. I told my fiancée the only reason I'd come back to Carmel was to eat here again. And finally, that moment arrived. My first stop? Aabha--where thankfully, not much has changed. It's still just as damn delicious. I even found a new favorite: the Coconut Prawn Curry. Easily a 10/10. The service? As great as ever. Tomorrow's my last day here... and guess who's coming back to grab some to take home to SF?

During our mini getaway to Carmel, we checked out this delicious Indian restaurant! Their menu was stacked with SO many choices, especially vegan & vegetarian options. We ordered more than enough food, had leftovers for the next few days! We started with samosas, crispy pastries filled with spices, potatoes, & green peas. They're always the first thing we order at an Indian restaurant because they never disappoint! Then we ordered chili garlic tofu tikka, hand pound garlic, chili, tofu, & kasoori methi (or dried fenugreek). It came with a side of veggies, a salad, & a side of rice, too. It had so much flavor! Just wish it was as spicy as they made it sound like it would be lol Of course we had to get some naan to eat with our food, so we picked the garlic naan, which also included rosemary in its ingredients. We also ordered some saag paneer, spinach, desi cheese, garlic, & fenugreek. Perfect for vegetarians, packed with lots of flavor, & overall, healthy! We finished off by ordering some lemon rice, Basmati rice, yellow lentils, lemon, & turmeric! We were seated immediately by welcoming staff, who were very attentive towards us. We got a table outside since it was so nice out, & their patio is beautiful! We would love to come back, should we ever take a drive through Carmel any time soon.

For lunch, I went with their Big Sur pizza on gluten free crust. The crust was impressive. Not my favorite I've ever had but still a really good job. The pizza was vegan with fried oyster mushrooms, baked white mushrooms, various veggies, and a red sauce with white sauce drizzle. Pizza was great. Really sold me on coming back the next day. As for brunch, they did not have the GF biscuits. The gravy was still vegan and they offered to serve it on GF focaccia bread. However, at $22, I couldn't do it. Besides, I would at least need to add a couple eggs for some protein and I wasn't about to spend all of that on brunch. So instead, I went with huevos rancheros. This was excellent. The poblano sauce was spicy and hearty, the tortillas nice and crisp, and the pinto beans an interesting change of pace. The potatoes were awesome. Place is plain and pretty basic. The outside seating is in the sun and facing a blacktop parking lot, so you don't come here for the ambiance. But the food and service were excellent. Great vegan meals.

So as someone who is not used to vegetarian or vegan food whatsoever, I have to say that HANDS DOWN this was the best pizza!! The waitresses were so kind and attentive! The building was clean and decorated so warmly and welcoming. I cannot wait to come back!

They have indoor and outdoor seating , we got their early so the seats were a little wet but Rita wiped down the seats and provided us with blanket covers so the seats were not cold and we had some warmth. She was beyond kind and it was very much appreciated. Also there are only a few parking in front so you may have to park a street or two over. Servicewas just outstanding... Rita checked on us often, brought out treats and water for our dogs and was just amazing. Food: The braised corn beef hash: was absolute perfection... I love corn beef hash and this take with the braised corned beef just spoils you with deliciousness. The poached egg was perfect, I have never braised corned beef but I'm going to learn to try and make a dish like this. My wife got the chicken and waffles, and she gave me some and it was perfect, the one thing that hit the most was the breading on the chicken was so delicious , they made sure the flavor complemented the sweetness of the waffle and syrup, the chicken was tender and with the waffle it was just something else. I also tried their biscuit and gravy and it was so good. The sausage in the gravy and the flavor was so delicious. Overall you can't for wrong here... the complement to the chef and the Rita... you truly have a hidden Gem that we are glad we found.

Oof... I hate to say it, but we had quite a poor experience here…read more I was with a group of four this past weekend for a Sunday brunch, hoping for a nice bite before we traveled back home from our Carmel weekend. We found Hidden Gem through Yelp, and arrived as a walk-in. While we would have loved to sit outside in the warm weather, the patio was full and we were seated inside the restaurant. For all the cute restaurants you can find in Carmel, Hidden Gem is... not one of them. It felt oddly stripped down and incomplete inside - almost like they were redoing the interior and hadn't finished the job yet (perhaps they are?). While the restaurant was relatively full, I wouldn't describe it as packed. But from the time we ordered our food to the time the last of us received our food, it was a full, legitimate, 1.5 HOURS (I timed it). During this time, not once did anyone from the staff ever come up to us to address the excruciating wait, apologize for the delay, or even provide any sort of update. We were left waiting with no clue what was happening. Even getting a refill on our water or coffee proved difficult - it was hard tracking anyone down, and it usually took at least two follow-ups for it to actually happen. And when we did finally receive our food, it was incredibly underwhelming. We ordered an eggs benedict, two breakfast sandwiches, french toast, and the skillet. Virtually all the meat - most notably the sausage and the bacon - was burnt, with a charred taste masking any potential for flavor. The potatoes were wet and undercooked. The french toast was soggy and flavorless. Sadly, the best part of our entire meal was the bread on the sandwich and the side of toast that came with the skillet. I'd also be remiss not to mention that every single one of us felt nauseous or unsettled, and some of us borderline sick, after the meal. Given how many positive reviews I see of this place, I'm thinking we must have come on a really, really bad day. This gives me hope that our brunch was simply a one-off and that it's not usually like this. But everything, from the ambiance, to the service, to the food, was incredibly disappointing.

It is a cute spot nestled in between buildings and has both patio and inside seating. We brought our pup and took patio seating. It was cold BUT they provided blankets and heaters! The vinaigrette was fantastic, the bread was soft inside and crispy outside with the perfect bread to butter ratio (we had extra butter left over). My husband got the lobster roll which was good (not the best) but the brioche roll was great and very filled. I got the King Ora salmon which had complex flavor with miso, pepper and the cabbage was fantastic. For dessert we shared the basque cheesecake which was amazing.
