Thankfully, Yelp absolutely came through clutch (as it usually does) and led us to Our Breakfast Place. We intentionally tried to time things to beat the post-church crowd and I think we mostly succeeded... though there was still a little bit of a wait. Thankfully, this place is absolutely worth the wait! The restaurant was bustling and busy but still had a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere. The menu was extensive with tons of tempting breakfast options, the prices were very reasonable to me, and the service was excellent from start to finish. Our waitress was so kind and friendly and even the women seated nearby struck up conversation with us while we waited for our food. It just had that warm, community-oriented breakfast spot vibe. I ordered the blueberry lemon pancakes which were a seasonal special and wow, they were fantastic. Sweet but not overly so, fluffy, flavorful, and the combo also came with an egg and I chose two slices of bacon. All delicious and certainly plenty filling. The coffee was strong too, which I greatly appreciated. All in all, this was a five-star breakfast experience and the kind of local spot I love discovering while traveling. If I'm ever back in Waco, I'd happily return.

The place was at the end of a shopping strip. The restaurant was bright and typical to any breakfast restaurant Our waiter was nice and answered our questions. I like that they have smaller portions and regular portions. I order the small french toast and with poached egg and sausage. It was just enough since I cutting back, you may need regular portion for a big appetite. Overall it was decent. The food came out quickly and the price was good. I forgot to take pics.

We took the old highways home to Fort Worth from Austin today and found ourselves visiting Oma…read moreLeen's a second time, this time for lunch. So glad we did! The menu here is not expansive but it offers a very nice selection of tantalizing dishes. We opted for the fried chicken tacos. Being old timers with small appetites we customarily share an entree, but when I learned that an order consists of two, not the customary three tacos, I ordered a plate for each of us. Big mistake! Hahaha. These tacos are humongous! I'm afraid I totally failed to fulfill my duties as a responsible Yelper and take a photo of the presented plate. Attached is a pic of one, but the pic does not adequately provide for you a sense of the taco's actual size. We each had to work to finish one each. This creation is a work of taco art. A taco masterpiece. The tortilla appears to be house-made. The large pieces of chicken breast, perfectly seasoned and breaded; and crisply fried rest on a bed of some of the tastiest cole slaw ever. The fried chicken is then topped with a couple sauces that sing with the chicken and finished with house made hot honey. This taco is worth the drive to Hico from FTW for lunch. Service was once again very pleasant and attentive. And as I think I said in my previous review, Owners/Chefs Austin and Shannon have done a wonderful job of curating a welcoming, warm and authentic ambiance in this historic building.

This place is a true gem and absolutely worth the trip. We'll definitely keep coming back.

Nestled in downtown Corsicana in a building dating back to the early 1900s, Mita's exudes a trendy yet nostalgic vibe with a fantastic menu to match. We ordered the Chai Tea Latte and the Apple Christmas Tea. They offer several seating areas perfect for conversation, relaxation, or hanging out. A standout feature is their book section, which highlights local authors and adds a unique charm to the space. My wife loved her Chai Tea Latte, calling it delicious, while my Apple Christmas Tea was hands down the best cup of tea I've ever had. We ended up staying for lunch because of doing some remote work. I had the Bacon and Spinach quiche which was amazing! Cristina had the Chicken salad that came with a cucumber salad. She said it was awesome! I would come back just to the cucumber salad! You don't just visit Mita's--you experience it. Well done! If you're ever in Corsicana, Mita's Coffee House is a must-stop destination.

They have a designated parking lot making it super easy to visit here. They brought us to our table right away, which was this beautiful large family table set in its own alcove, so it felt very special and away from the main hustle and bustle of the restaurant. The vibe was like a modern upgraded diner. I had struggled deciding between going at brunch time or for the dinner menu, but I am super happy that we decided to do brunch because we got to enjoy the famous Jo's Buttermilk Biscuits with the flight of butters. All of the butter was great, but I especially loved the blackberry butter. The biscuits were so good though, that you didn't even need butter at all, they were just so light and fluffy. Not dry like your typical biscuit that you'd get at any other restaurant! For the main meal, I picked the crunchy French toast, which was perfectly crispy on the outside but nice and custardy on the inside. I love the use of the cornflake cereal on the outside, I don't think I can go back to any regular French toast after that! They have some seasonal drinks available, so make sure you ask your server. On our particular visit, we tried the 1905 latte which had a toasted marshmallow syrup inside and surprisingly was not too sweet despite being marshmallow. The restaurant is connected to the little merch area/market where you can buy a lot of of the Magnolia merch if you can't make it over to the Silos. The decor and feel inside is so beautiful, as expected if you're familiar with Joanna's work! What a treat to be able to visit here and may they last for a long time!

On top of that, the air conditioning vent was blowing directly onto our table the entire time. After being seated, we watched several employees standing around chatting while we waited nearly 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. No one greeted us, offered coffee or water, or even said hello. Eventually, our server arrived, and she was wonderful and very friendly. I ordered the Kind Breakfast, and my husband ordered the breakfast tacos. The presentation was beautiful, and the food looked delicious. Unfortunately, both of our meals were served cold. My eggs, bacon, and toast were all cold. Thankfully, my plate included a fresh salad and tomatoes, which tasted great because they were meant to be served cold. Overall, it felt like the focus was more on being a popular tourist destination than on providing attentive service and ensuring the food was served at the proper temperature. I had expected a much better experience.
