Sadly, my food, I ordered chile relleno dinner, was OBVIOUSLY OVERCOOKED! All I asked was for it to be remade. An older man comes out, tries to force us to accept the dish, despite it being inedible to me. So you know, I have cancer and no teeth. So I can't chew. Period. Anyway, the man didn't seem to understand that it was basically burnt. After just being tired of the back and forth, I just told them I did not want it. I guess it pissed him off because they made us pay for it. Even worse, my son loves this place. I've chosen to no longer eat there, due to their shitty manager/owner/cook, or whoever he was. So I just sit, and enjoy my bottle of water. That I take in. Let's not forget the fire we were entertained with! Burning plastic!! The smell was "great." I have tried to like this place as there is not many places to eat in Whitney, but the food is just not very good. I don't understand why it's hard to season the food. The salsa is bland, the taco meat is bland. And the nachos have the most plastic cheese on them. They even forgot to put the meat on my pathetic nachos. Literally the best thing are the drinks. The have great crushed ice and the sodas are crisp. My family likes the chicken fajitas but everything else is mediocre.... And bland! read more

I had chicken quesadillas and my husband had burritos. The homemade salsa was excellent! The queso was average, but was hot and creamy, and better than the cheap nacho dip sometimes served at small joints. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and filling. The portions were generous. I was in Whitney for a camping trip with my local RV club staying at Lake Whitney State Park. I needed to run into the store to pick up a few supplies. While in town, I decided to stop in for lunch at Tres Hermanos. When I drove up to the restaurant, the parking lot was full. I figured if all the locals were there, it would be a good choice for me as well. I wasn't wrong in my decision. Lunch service was brisk and I was very happy with the experience at the restaurant. After munching on a basket of hot chips and excellent salsa, and looking over the menu, I ordered the Rio Verde plate. It consisted up a bean chalupa, a guacamole chalupa and a beef taco. My lunch plate was delivered to my table very quickly. YUMMY, the locals hadn't led me wrong. The food was really good, totally up to my TexMex standards. This family owned business has great food and service. It is quite popular and we try and visit around typical meal hours to make sure we get a table. This Mexican restaurant deserves credit for the great efforts it takes to succeed. Freshness is key. Why prepare a frozen dead nugget in grease when you have a complete kitchen to batter your own chicken, cut fresh tomatoes, lettuce from local farms, and have a cook that understands how to put it all together. The staff was very efficient and it seemed to run like clockwork. For a whole in the wall place, it was very tasty and worth the price . Good job guys! read more

I ordered the combination fajitas and my husband had a salad. The beef was super tender and flavorful and chicken was very good too. The only down side was that you have to pay extra for sour cream and cheese. They lost a star for the salad. It was good and flavorful, but only had shredded lettuce as the greens. It would have been more impressive with a variety of greens. To our amazement, the kids' chicken tenders were the star of the show. Each plate had a big pile of crispy french fries and two fried tenders the size of an entire chicken breast cut thin. It was plenty for an adult. Our 10-year-old was actually full when he finished, the 8-year-old only ate half of one tender and a quarter of the fries (she's a light eater), and the 6-year-old barely finished the chicken and had a few fries. We "helped" them finish the chicken and fries and it was hard to stop! The tenders were definitely tender, flavorful, juicy, and perfectly crispy. The fries were crispy, perfectly salted, and delicious! The gravy was perfect too. I may order the kid's chicken next time. :) read more

Totally fine and normal Tex-Mex restaurant. We were camping at Lake Whitney and wanted some dinner instead of cooking at the camp site. It was super close and easy to find. The parking lot is a little crazy with big potholes and gravel. The food was yummy and cheesy and hit the spot. Super affordable dinner less than $25 for two of us. They don't sell alcohol but you can bring your own. Overall, good for a small town. read more
