I called, had a great phone conversation, and made an appointment. I was present at the correct day and time, and was sitting in the waiting room when another couple came in for an appointment. When he came out to usher me back to his cube, the receptionist told him he had another appointment. He then brushed me off, gave me his card, and told me to come back later or another day! He also said he did not remember our phone conversation. Uh-huh, sure. I'll find another agent that can keep appointments, thank you.

Unfortunately, I really wanted to give him a…read morechance to work with him professionally & believe in his integrity as a insurance agent, but he proved to be involved insomuch as it was about making more money off my family. What kind of human being tries to sell you life insurance for you and your loved ones, after we confide our father had just passed away (he was the policyholder, engaging with Dan for years prior to his passing). It's mind boggling that Dan saw that as an opportunity for a sales pitch & went through the contact info under our policy asking each member under our family policy if they wanted life insurance. To add insult to injury, there were some errors on our policy account that I tried to rectify & was met with resistance on Dan's staff (Maria) & Dan himself for issuing credit where credit was ethically, and legally appropriate. Because my father passed away & we inherited all his affairs, trying to sort through it, we tried to be as diligent as possible to make sure all accounts were accurately aligned, and Dan was dismissive unless I called Consumer Affairs (not to complain about him but to find resolution & an explanation of the process of changing policy information) & some other manager with greater oversight pressured him to respond. I felt absolutely no empathy, no sincerity, & no genuine effort to help us organize the mess of our account he oversaw for years, easily collecting large payments, but incredibly difficult to remain in correspondence for answers to questions, inquiries, or general confusion about our account once my father died. It seemed convenient to be an agent when collecting financially was involved but a laborious task when he actually had to interact with the policyholders & address concerns we had. Especially after our father had just passed a month prior. Unbelievable. If you are seeking professionalism, human decency, integrity, I would strongly encourage you to seek elsewhere. Daniel Ciro is not someone you want as an insurance agent when your family goes through a vulnerable time. It's a pretty big moral failing to deflect responsibility for something you are at fault for, & to compound the difficulty for family members grieving & sifting through the chaos left behind by their loved ones. Exploitation of others is reprehensible. American Family Insurance as a company is excellent (99% of the staff at corporate, consumer affairs, customer service etc.. were exceptionally kind, understanding, supportive, & tried to genuinely help us). Daniel Ciro as your insurance agent would be a costly risk to you & your family going through some type of life travesty where you would need compassion & integrity- he's simply not equipped.
