I had my F350 serviced by AAA Ridgecrest. They gave me a fair estimate for the repairs. The work was done in a timely manner and Derek took the time to explain everything. In the end, it took less time to do the repair and it cost me several hundred less than estimated. They also have a new location, with a shop and office that is clean, neat, and organized. Our van broke down inside Great Smoky Mountain National Park. When we called AAA, it was Ridgecrest Towing that showed up and since we didn't know of other shops in the area, we had them tow it to Ridgecrest Auto in Sylva. We took a cab on to our destination in Tennessee and hoped for the best. The shop was communicative and helpful as we diagnosed and approved the necessary work. They completed the work quickly and at a fair price in time for us to pick up the car at the end of our vacation and drive it back to FL. They were honest and reasonable, and we were grateful as we were stuck in a bind and depending on them to come through for us. Would recommend Ridgecrest or use them again if f we get stuck in a nearby national park again! read more

Our tire had been punctured by a nail and we could not get the tire off to put on the donut spare. We are from out of town and were at the hotel stranded with no way to even get to a place to get it fixed or replaced. AAA Ridgecrest saved the day after hours when no one else could help us and was able to get the tire off and the spare on. They also gave us recommendation on where to go to get it replaced (tire was too damaged to plug) in the morning. They were refreshingly friendly, honest and helpful. I highly recommend. read more

I never leave bad reviews but this was a nightmare. Please be aware that they lied about taking a towing fee off if I took my car to be serviced with them because I had a flat tire. I have other car insurance but thought this was a great deal. When I went to pay, they refused to believe that they had told me about the free tow. I could have gone to someone else if I had known this. After I left a review on google, they tried to backtrack by lying about recording the conversation. This was not true or else it would be illegal and I could press chargers. I just moved to the area and am really disappointed with how they treated us and others, please go somewhere else. read more

A tire exploded on our travel trailer while traveling through the area on a Sunday. Called our roadside assistance service (Coach-Net) who was not sure they could find someone in the area on a Sunday or how long it might take but they did. They found Ridgecrest. They worked with the dispatcher, Derek, who sent a tech, James, to our location on the side of a divided highway. James was efficient and skilled, he had the tire changed quickly for us under not the best circumstances where we were stopped. Fortunately we had our own spare so that helped. But, Ridgecrest came to our rescue and we were on our way in less than 2 hours. Cannot say enough good things here. Great people, great service, even on a beautiful spring Sunday. read more

Beware of this Towing service. Yes, they offer 24 hour service, good.They have great equipment. They are the "GO TO" service for this area's AAA coverage. I have AAA. I had a lock-out service request. I asked dispatch to have the driver call me, he tried but service was too poor from where He was, thus unable to give him directions. (They use some navigational tool.) I was waiting for them on our road, heard them coming and stepped out behind them, waving and calling but they were going SO FAST that they didn't see or hear me. They were in a towing truck with full bed for hauling off vehicles, not appropriate for a lock out! With 3 homes in view they never even slowed down to see any home numbers or me. He blasted up our hill with excessive speed. Our road is a circle, fairly steep and posted as suggested 4x4 and ONE WAY; 10 MPH signs are frequent. I was waiting for them to return from the circle when they came back the same way they went up -ie wrong way - and also very fast, once again passing my house. They did finally stop. Mike, the driver, got out and immediately began to shout at me about an encounter with a neighbor who ran after them to slow them down, but when they approached the downhill side, they stopped, backed up into an upper driveway to turn around. They nocked down a reflector as he drove over a water culvert, which with a heavy truck was flattened. (I didn't know this at the time). He called my neighbor a drunk maniac. I explained to him that my neighbor is responsible for our road maintenance and the way Mike was driving was defininately not acceptable. I asked why they didn't stop to look at home numbers but Mike continued to RANT about my neighbor. I asked to to please not give me poor service because of something that I didn't do. His co-worker did unlock my car and hardly spoke a word, just did all the work to unlock my car while Mike did the paperwork. Mike asked me to sign his paper work and I asked him to be sure that the car was unlocked before he shut the door. My car was in a tight area, so when he was done, I was standing at the back end of the car, he did NOT hand me my keys. (Remember, I specifically asked him were the doors unlocked before he shut the door.) I walked with them back to their truck. He then started saying that he'd be right back with the sheriff or police, to confront my neighbor. I was very upset about his continued verbal comdination of my neighbor - (who DOES NOT DRINK, ever )- calling him a drunk ape,etc. I asked him to please relax about it, even telling him that he acts like this he will be a likely candidate for a stroke or heart attack! I was VERY upset by this continued anger & spewing, staying very calm. But, It never stopped until he left. He then ZOOMED off, ignoring my request for him to go slow. Later that afternoon I went to get in my car, it was TOTALLY LOCKED! Unbelievable! I was very upset. I waited until the next day to call again to AAA. I also spoke with AAA Customer service to report the incident as discribed. I requested to not have Mike come out. This time the person who came was in a regular truck, but did the same with driving fast, passing our house, going all the way up until, once again, turned around to return. Why? But, she was apologic for Mike, she had heard the story and said "He's not usually that way, he's usually calm." She did her job quickly and efficiently, handing me the keys - which she said was their standard procedure. Shortly after these encounters, a concrete truck had an accident on our bridge, RidgeCrest came and did their work without any issues. Good job! Now, last night a young lady came to take a neighbor from up the hill to the hospital, but on her way up, she slid in a ditch. She came to our house and called AAA for towing service. (We couldn't get her out with our truck). When the towing service called her back and got directions they asked if this is a private road; we told them that it is a private road. The driver then said that AAA doesn't cover private roads over 50 feet from a state maintained road. I verified this with customer service, though I had never head of this rule. So, Interesting that RidgeCrest has been on our road numerous times, but now has singled out our road to not service when it's not convient? I've also know plenty of other occasions when AAA towing service has serviced areas more than 50 feet from a state maintained road. Do they really verify this every time someone calls? I don't think so. But, I guess it's useful to enforce when they don't want to come out at 11pm or have been reported for ugly behavior. I'm disappointed by the this situation, and other need to know. I would give 0 starts if I could. I brought my car in in November because my ignition system went out. They told me they ordered a new part and installed it. Fast forward to a couple months later and my ignition system went out again. I brought it to a different repair place and they discovered that they had just took my old part, tapped it together, and installed back into my car. They lied to me and said they put in a new part and charged me $280! When all they really did was tap my old part back together. I am a 20 year old girl that does not know much about cars and they took advantage of me. Terrible business!! . read more

My neighbor came to visit and her car went dead in my driveway. She called AAA who sent a huge tow truck, only to find out the battery was dead. The driver charged it and advised my friend to call AAA to send out a battery truck, which they did and they told her the battery was fine. Next day she barely got it started and went into town to buy a new one. Terrible service. read more

Came out to the area for a wedding on Labor Day weekend, and on trying to get up some crazy dirt/gravel roads to an Airbnb, my car's CV joint snapped right off my axle. All I knew at the time was that it stopped moving at all, losing all power to move either forwards or backwards. Ridgecrest came out and towed my car to their facility on Sunday, and spoke with me on Monday (the holiday) to discuss what they thought was wrong with it. They contacted me on Tuesday to let me know about the CV joint, quoted me a price, and stuck to it nearly exactly - done in the same day. We drove out and picked it up on Wednesday. Super nice staff, great communication throughout, and based on some price-checking they were really reasonable with me and even better than some of the quotes I would have gotten in my city. Really came off feeling like they were solidly helpful, friendly, and didn't take advantage of me. Highly recommended. read more

Great shop. We broke down in our RV on a Friday night. They towed us back to their lot, let us stay keep our RV there for the night, and worked us into their schedule on Saturday since we were from out of town so we could get back on the road. It was at a fair price too. Good guys read more

Our car broke down about 30 minutes from our rented cabin. They were super efficient to come and tow our vehicle to the shop. However, our vehicle took over four hours to be looked at and we had no assistance in finding a rental company. After they looked at it they said it was just a line leak, but our vehicle still wasn't running properly and they assumed it was our transmission, but they wouldn't be able to do anything until late Monday or Tuesday (we were supposed to leave Monday morning). There information says 24 hour service, but doesn't specify that it's just for towing until you call. read more

We had the unfortunate need to be towed yesterday afternoon from Robbinsville NC to Harriman, TN thank goodness for AAA. The driver (Queen?) that showed up was GREAT!! He was extremely professional and easy to talk to and had a great personality, especially for the length of the drive and having to encounter the Dragon in the process. He knows the road great, and when go out of it on the TN side, there was a motorcycle broken down in the lane of traffic, he stopped his rollback and acted a a blocker so nobody would run over the bike rider as he finished his repair, something he did not need to do, but acted to ensure the safety of another human being out of his moral consciousness. We made it to the house safely, and was grateful for everything he has done. You have a great person there working for you!! Thank you again! read more
