Pretty typical, right? The odd thing is that on their website the lower rate is still there. We're vacating the unit but I think this game is common among storage rental facilities. We live in a society where price gouging happens everywhere. Go to any grocery store or clothing store, heck, go to a thrift store and price gouging happens everywhere but a storage unit? There's no customer service to speak to, everytime i call the national numbers it redirects me to the property manager who either denied the call or picked up only hang up in my face. And I've never had an issue getting in or out. The dude downstairs is always helpful when I forget the number of my unit (I know, sorry). But he's really cool and willing to assist and overall I feel safe here, which is nice, because visiting a storage unit alone almost always feels akin to a scene from a horror movie. "Why are you going in there alone?" "Why are you turning down that dark scary hallway?" The elevator is kind of scary and old and the flickering fluorescent lights are a bit unnerving, but all seems relatively well and safe here. Sure, I'm used to living in the suburbs. But I still feel like it's not terribly convenient to have a storage unit off a big busy street with meter parking (maybe you get a spot right out front, maybe not) when you're trying to pick up heavy boxes of stuff and get them to your car. They have dollys and all, but it's still odd to me to be wheeling personal items down Broadway to your car. Keep in mind they have standard biz hours so you can't make any late night stops!
