I want to share my experience so other customers know to carefully review any additional services…read morebeing offered at this location. I ordered Spectrum home internet online and selected in-store pickup for my equipment. During my first visit, I was assisted by Steph. After reviewing my order, she told me I was picking up a modem, router, and a mobile hotspot. I explained that I had only ordered home internet and was not expecting or requesting a mobile hotspot. Despite my clarification, she repeatedly insisted that the hotspot was included with my plan. I became concerned when she asked to access the settings on my personal phone, stating that she needed my phone's serial number to activate the hotspot. I declined because I did not understand why my personal phone was needed to complete a home internet equipment pickup. At that point, I was told I would need to contact Spectrum and have my equipment shipped instead. Immediately after leaving the store, I called Spectrum Customer Care to verify what I had been told. The representative advised me that they were unfamiliar with the process described at the store and said my phone's serial number was not required to pick up or activate my home internet equipment. I returned to the store a second time and was assisted by Andrew. I explained what had happened during my previous visit. He initially told me that he would also have to set me up with a mobile hotspot. I then asked to speak with the store manager. Andrew responded that there was no manager available. When I asked for the manager's name, contact information, or when they would be working, he said he would try reaching another manager through the company's internal chat. After a brief exchange through the chat system, Andrew clicked a few buttons on his computer and handed me exactly what I had originally ordered--a modem and router, without a mobile hotspot. This demonstrated that the additional service was not required for me to receive my internet equipment. Based on my experience, I encourage customers to carefully review their orders and question any additional products or services they did not request. In my case, politely declining the unwanted service and asking to speak with a manager resulted in me receiving only the equipment I had originally ordered. I hope Spectrum reviews the sales practices at this location to ensure customers receive accurate information and are not pressured into accepting services they did not request.

When my name was finally called (after waiting for 15-20 minutes), the Spectrum Representative, Carlos, assisted me with my purchase. Carlos, whom I have dealt with on numerous visits here, was super friendly, very knowledgeable, and professional. Carlos always provides GREAT customer service, and I truly appreciate his dedication to assuring that other customers and I leave the store happy with whatever they were here to do. Be it with cable or internet service, the purchase, or issues with cell phones and/or equipment returns, Carlos and all the other employees will always do their absolute best. The store is always clean and well-organized, with displays of a few of their products. Thank you for another positive shopping experience.

I arrived 15 min early and a minute later after checking in with their link, I got a text to go inside the store. Once inside, they took care of me immediately and the equipment return took less than 5 minutes. Fast and easy experience with no funny business! Unrelated to the particular store but I wanna rant about Spectrum: Was a Spectrum family previously at my old house and for 8 more years on my own account after I moved since that was the only good service available in my new home area at the time. Canceling my service took longer than I felt should on the phone... the agent on the phone kept talking to me and did all the typical sales guy talk to get me to stay. I hung up feeling extremely annoyed after successfully canceling.

I wanted to cancel my service but never knew the begin date of the next billing cycle. I called to cancel my service and returned my equipment 2 days after the billing cycle started. I have not used the services for a whole month before I turned in my equipment. I am now obligated to may for the previous month and the month ahead. I asked if they could check if I had used their services or anything plugged in that indicated that. They could always send signal to restart my cable box. Why couldn't they see that it was plugged in or not. They couldn't back date the charges just for a few days but offered to sign me up or continue my services with a bigger discount. The discount was $30 credit. I renewed at this discount pricing so I could get the credit and cancelled the services again. I was told fiber is in my area so it should be much faster. The line comes from the telephone pole in my backyard. I didn't know fiber was above ground. Which I know is a lie.

Anyone thinking about switching to Frontier (by Verizon)? Do yourself a favor and don't…read more We switched to Frontier (by Verizon). What's mess. Worked for several months. Then out of the blue, zero services - no Internet (we have jobs and kids who need access for school) and since TV came over the line, none of that either. Every morning, noon and evening I'd get a text saying restoration of service by X (i.e. 4pm the same day). After a day or two that showed itself to be a straight lie. No human to talk to on the phone, either. This baiting fraud went on for two weeks until we switched back to Spectrum. They owed me $7.01 per their recurring bill and kept it for months and months instead of just sending me a check. Eventually they sent a prepaid MasterCard I never requested containing my $7.01 which, if I activated, screwed me over with annual fees, etc. I finally got in touch with someone in the Philippines who said they'd send me a check; haven't gotten it yet - been about a week. Frontier is about the worst company with which i've had the displeasure of doing business. Shady and unfair business practices at every turn, in my view. Stay always unless you're a masochistic glutton for punishment. Consider yourself warned.

Based on customer feedback and local reviews covering both the retail store (834 E Valley Blvd) and…read moreresidential service in the Alhambra area, Spectrum's key areas for improvement fall into four primary categories: 1. In-Store Queue Management & Equipment Returns * Streamline Quick Drop-offs: Customers frequently report long wait times at the local store just to return modems or TV boxes. Implementing a dedicated, self-service drop-off kiosk or express return line would prevent routine returns from backing up behind lengthy sales consultations. * Reduce Kiosk Bottlenecks: Mandating detailed account sign-ins on store tablets before acknowledging waiting customers creates unnecessary friction, especially when staff availability is visible. 2. Network Consistency & Weekend Reliability * Peak-Hour Stability: Local residents report recurring speed throttles, intermittent packet loss, and service dropouts during evenings and weekends. * Symmetrical Speeds: With more users working from home in the San Gabriel Valley, standard cable upload speeds (typically 10-20 Mbps) struggle to keep up with increasing demand compared to emerging local fiber options. 3. Billing Transparency & Promo Expirations * Predictable Long-Term Pricing: Customers frequently cite steep price hikes once 12-to-24-month promotional rates expire. Spectrum could improve trust by clearly communicating scheduled rate step-ups in advance rather than surprising subscribers with sudden increases. * Less Friction on Retention/Disconnections: Ending service or adjusting packages often requires navigating high-pressure retention scripts and upsells rather than straightforward, respectful account adjustments. 4. Localized Support & Communication * Multilingual Staffing: Given Alhambra's demographic diversity, expanding bilingual customer service options (especially Mandarin, Cantonese, and Spanish) across in-store staff and phone lines ensures clearer communication regarding contracts and troubleshooting. * Proactive Outage Alerts: More accurate, automated text updates during neighborhood maintenance or localized outages to prevent unnecessary technician appointments and store visits.

The last time I went to the shop, I waited about 2 hours. I would suggest to make a appointment for the day you're planning to visit the shop. Background On Visit: Came to the shop to return my old modem instead of returning through UPS. The reason for that was because I wanted to know for sure that I returned it. Ambiance/Decor: Ambiance is nice with limited amount of seats Service: Service was snail place when I last went to the shop last week. They were understaffed where there would be 2 - 3 reps working at one time when there is a total of 5 workstations. Recommendations: It would be nice if they had a express line for pickup and drop off of equipment. Something simple like that shouldn't take two hours to return.
