NO STORAGE WARS HERE! I just rented a unit here and I am so…read moreglad I chose this business! One reason: Don. Never mind the 24/7 alarm, drive-up service, or fenced parameter... I would have stored my stuff in a dirt hole if Don was working there. He was the most polite, most helpful, and most genuine associate I have dealt with in a long time! I am always saying: "what happened to customer service." Well I found it!

Extremely Disappointed -- Cockroach Infestation, Refund Refused, and Unreasonable Deadline…read more I purchased a storage unit through an auction hosted by Express Storage, paying $203 for the unit plus a $200 refundable cleaning deposit, with the requirement that all contents be removed within 72 hours. The moment I opened the unit, one of the first things I noticed was evidence of a cockroach infestation. This was completely unexpected, and had I known about the infestation beforehand, I would never have bid on or purchased this unit. This is not simply an inconvenience. Cockroaches present a legitimate health and sanitation concern, and removing potentially infested belongings creates the risk of transporting pests into my vehicle, home, or another property. I immediately began contacting the appropriate parties to report the condition and seek a resolution. Despite my attempts to address the situation, my request for a refund has been refused, and the facility continues to enforce the original 72-hour deadline. Let that sink in: I am being expected to remove potentially cockroach-infested contents within 72 hours, despite reporting the problem immediately, and I have been refused a refund. I have chosen not to touch or remove the contents because I am not willing to risk spreading an infestation to another location. I should not have to choose between potentially exposing myself and others to a pest problem or losing the money I paid for this purchase. The situation has been made even more frustrating by the lack of a reasonable resolution. I purchased this unit in good faith, and instead of a straightforward process for addressing a serious and unexpected problem, I am left dealing with a pest infestation, a ticking deadline, and a denied refund. I am requesting the return of my $203 purchase price and my $200 cleaning deposit. I am documenting the condition of the unit and preserving my communications and transaction records. I intend to pursue appropriate consumer complaints and any available legal remedies if this matter remains unresolved. I believe potential bidders deserve to know about my experience before spending their money. I strongly encourage anyone considering an auction purchase through this facility to ask specific questions about pest infestations, disclosure policies, and what happens when a serious problem is discovered immediately after opening a unit. This has been an extremely disappointing experience, and the refusal to refund my money while continuing to enforce the removal deadline has only made it worse.
