The 30 amp connection was unsafe and two other campers came up to us to say they didn't have power and had been complaining for days about it. Lastly, they did not offer to move us and we had to go through a frustrating week and a half process to get a refund. I don't like leaving bad reviews that could potentially hurt business but if you have this many negative reviews and don't fix the problem then people need to be warned about they are driving into. ESPECIALLY if you tell people there are no refunds multiple times.

We booked a reservation at Applewood for three weeks and when we plugged into electric, it read as a danger code, so there was no electric. Two different neighbors came out and spoke with us that this park does not even support 30 amp electric for an entire day (which is part of my purchase) Applewood broke our contract numerous times so when we tried to cancel and get a refund, they made us go through the gambit. It took over a week and a half of continuous calls, they would not provide a paper trail or email me after asking for confirmation 3 times. RV Journey is to blame, but the front desk at Applewood is incompetent and should not be in this industry whatsoever. I was offered excuses and others being blamed for our issue. Secondly, the campsite itself is absolutely disgusting. The neighborhood is clean and a good neighborhood- there is no reason this park should be this unkempt. We didn't have a picnic table at our site (which also broke our agreement). The campground smelled like poop and cigarettes. The size of lots were barely enough to put our 3 slides out and stairs down (38 foot fifth wheel). The people in front of us told us they were only have trouble staying and were trying to get out of their stay. This is a terribly run park overall.

The shops were all very similar and touristy. The selection of restaurants wasn't too exciting either. Parking was challenging in the area. There was some free parking and some paid lots, but all options were full. I stopped by the Visitor's Center as well. Half the lot was reserved so parking here was a challenge also. They could use some *something* to make it more of an experience and a welcome to the town. Everyone was nice, but it felt empty and the amount of fliers for things felt too sell-y. I wanted to enjoy Golden so much, but it really felt like a tourist trap to me.

We drove from AZ to Albuquerque and stayed at Sandia for 2 nights, then off to Denver. Windy! Yes. The trip was longer than expected fighting the wind. When we arrived, the staff was friendly and helpful getting us in to space 79 (i think). There are a lot of full timers there including each side of us. Everyone in the park waved hello as they walked or drove by. The park was clean. Only the landscaping needed a little better attention. No trash except for the occasional napkin and such going by. Everyday maintenance employees in golf carts flying by and doing their jobs. I would highly recommend this place as a location for a week, a month, or even longer! 4 Star review only because of the grounds, which were not bad, just needs attention.

Something I didn't know about this park is that it is also an RV park and campground. The playground nearest the large bathroom area is maybe meant for a younger kids, and there's also a large grassy soccer field. If you go beyond the first playground area, there's a splash pad! This was a lifesaver on a hot day. Keep walking, and you'll get to a larger area where there's a zip line and larger playground for bigger kids to play. I wish we had discovered this playground first, as we spent more than half of our time on the small playground.
