So I have to agree with the overwhelming majority of horrible reviews. I have been dealing with trying to get my lemon of an ice maker needs replacement. Not only have they not followed through with what was promised, but the service rep on the phone spoke to me in such a disrespectful way as if I were an idiot. Needless to say we are about to embark on buying all new appliances for a large home and at least we learned through our rental home that we will NEVER buy anything from AAA appliance. I do not recommend the service department at AAA! A repairman from AAA came over to look at my fridge water dispenser which was not working. He told me he needed to order a part for me and they called back to schedule an appointment to install it with a three hour window (from 1-4). At around 4:15 I called to find out where they were, and I was told that they were running late, and I would have to reschedule. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and reschedule and the same exact thing happened. Now I have wasted 2 afternoons waiting for them, and my fridge is still broken. They did honor my previous quote. Was told they'd be delivered between 1 and 5pm. at 4:55 they called to say they couldn't make it! They said they were sorry but I am sure they knew well before that, that they couldn't make it. Being a local JP resident, I wanted to make sure to support a local business however they just didn't seem to want my business. When I was first purchased my condo a couple of years ago, I went to AAA to shop for a washer and dryer. When I walked in the saleslady was with one couple and she never even acknowledged my presence. When I finally got her attention, she harshly let me know she was busy. I promptly walked out of the store and never purchased anything. Recently I needed someone to come repair an appliance at my house and, silly me, I once again wanted to try someone local. I called and left a voicemail...waited...no one returned my call. I called again a few weeks later and when I asked to schedule an appointment, the man on the phone grumpily said, "I don't do that! So and So does that. Call back Monday!" Ummm, excuse me? What? This is how you speak to customers, AAA? Quality! No matter how desperate I am, AAA will never hear from me again. read more

Terrible Service and Useless Extended Warranty: Less than two years ago I purchased a refrigerator and 5-year extended warranty. When the refrigerator failed, groceries rotting, I called at 8:45 on a Wednesday morning and was immediately told by the person answering the phone that there were no appointments until the following Wednesday. After explaining the 5-year warranty and the severity of the problem, she said there was nothing she could do but have the manager call me. When I explained I was waiting to leave for work until he called, she said he'd call when he was available. 30 minutes later I called again, same story. 45 minutes later, I called again, same story. 30 minutes later, I'm told he might be available and was put on hold for a full 10 minutes before I hung up. I call back and finally reach the manager, Gary. Gary is rude and defensive, and after I describe the problem he immediately says he knows exactly what the problem is-- essentially it's my fault that I have not defrosted a frost-free freezer/refrigerator and some sort of frost has backed up in some line. He says I must shut down the whole refrigerator/freezer and let everything thaw. When I protest that this is a frost-free refrigerator and I need a service person to check it out before I ruin everything in the freezer, he rudely says there's no service available until Wednesday. It doesn't matter that I have a warranty or that food is spoiling. He will do nothing to see if a sooner appointment is possible. When I tell him that I will find service elsewhere and expect a refund of my extended warranty, he claims he will need to call me back after he locates me in the computer. Meanwhile, although they are also booked, Yale Electric responds by making a serious effort to squeeze me in and then , when I fortuitously pass a Yale Electric service truck in my neighborhood, agrees to dispatch that technician. Lo and behold, the problem is not that I have failed to de-frost my frost-free freezer. It is a failed freezer fan which is necessary to circulate cold to the refrigerator. Although a part must be obtained from Connecticut, they find room on the schedule to complete the repair as soon as the part arrives. When Gary calls back, he insists he can't simply credit my credit card, but will send a check. On Thursday, I get a call that there has been a cancellation. No thank you. I am waiting to see if my refund check arrives in the mail. read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE. We bought an entire house's worth of appliances from them back in 2011: stove, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer. I found the purchasing experience fine. Nothing special---no particularly friendly or welcoming service, but fine. Then our salesman forgot to place part of the the order. Three months later, on the day they were supposed to arrive (we were in the midst of a renovation and everything had to be coordinated), they were scrambling to find replacements in their warehouse to fulfill the order. That was a fiasco, but I was still inclined to give them a break because I like the idea of supporting local businesses and they tried to offer competitive prices. But now that we've been living with these appliances I can report that EVERY.SINGLE.ONE has needed repairs. This is in just 3 years!! The refrigerator has needed 4 service calls, the dishwasher one, the stove two, the washer and dryer one. I find myself longing for the days when we went to Sears for our first house and bought much cheaper appliances, had great customer service, and only needed two repair calls (one for the dishwasher and one for the washer) over the course of 8 years. With every new problem, I find myself getting angrier and angrier that we wasted our money shopping at AAA. read more

I just purchased an LG washer and dryer from AAA Appliance. It was being installed in a space that had not previously had a washer dryer installed. We knew it would be a tight fit to get a full size unit in the small closet space. However, I did not want a stackable unit since they are inefficient. the washers in a stackable are top loadng which uses more water. Also, stackables are a poor long term investment. If one part dies, the whole unit must be trashed. AAA came out and measured in advance to make sure that the washer/dryer would fit I ordered on a Thursday afternoon. The washer and dryer were delivered Friday (the next day) and installed at the same time. Same day delivery and installation sure beats Best Buy. When we ordered a dishwasher from Best Buy, they delivered the new machine. Then we waited one week to have the old one hauled away. Then we waited another week for the new one to be installed!! AAA applaince excells with difficult installation situations. Their service is prompt. And the prices on the units were less than Best Buy However, even if the prices were higher, this company excels in ways that the big box stores like Best Buy could never match. I would have paid much more to get the skill of the installer. Now we have a big washer dryer in a small space. I could not be happier. The installer, Paul, was a miracle worker. I needed a new range hood and decided I would visit two stores to compare. Anymore than that and my head would explode. First, I opted for the big Y store. That was all shiny and pricey, but not for me. Next, my friend recommended AAA Appliances in JP saying they are really friendly and had helped her with a stove. That and realizing they were next to my favorite hat store, I had to go. I found the sales guys low pressure. I was not approached, but they were available. Once I was ready to talk to someone, I found Andy. He was easy to work with and new his stuff. I got a great deal on a floor model unit. They couldn't find the box right then, it was Sunday, but promised they would find it. I needed the instructions and mounting hardware. Sure enough, when I got home a PDF of the manual and installation instructions was in my email. The next day there was a follow up phone call and another email. They had found the box and would deliver it to me, by hand, no charge. The next day I was called again by Alex setting up a delivery schedule. The delivery guy John called me two or three times providing updates, and when they arrived they were the two nicest delivery guys and I had ever met. I would never have gotten this level of customer service from a big box store. AAA Appliance did this all for a $250 range hood. Thank you! read more

This was at one time a good old fashioned company with excellent customer service. That is no longer true. I recently was in desperate need of a dehumidifier, and called them to find one. Their personnel took my credit card number and information, and went through all of the conversation that should have produced the correct item for delivery to their store the very next day. I was to receive a call when it arrived. No call came, and I figured something must have been backordered since it was peak demand time for the item, and it was the most popular on the market. However, after a week longer, I called to see what the lead time would be. The answer I got was, "who did you talk to?". Apparently, someone in their employ was allowed to take all of my information including my credit card, and do God Knows What with it - and come to find out, the unit I need is not within their reach. They actually went so far as to ask me if I wanted two smaller units insufficient to do the job, to run simultaneously - this from personnel who did not start the job last week and should certainly know the proper installation. Seriously shoddy response to a situation that just shows even a nice old company can go down the tubes. I always go the extra mile to support old businesses that still survive in the area - but this is a shameless excuse for what these little stores used to be. If they cannot do it right, they should let someone else take over. The proper equipment was delivered within 48 hours from clear across the country through an online order, and is now happily doing the job it should have been doing for a long time. read more

I am very disappointed with their service department. I scheduled to have them repair my dryer twice. Both times they didn't come or call. Granted we have had absurd amounts of snow. None-the-less when I called the service department they told me they were too busy to do the repair despite the fact that it had been scheduled for two weeks. No apology, but just pure defensiveness. They missed the original delivery date, and rescheduled twice, but only after I called each time to figure out why they didn't show. They were late even when they finally showed up, a month later. They didn't seem to care. They dropped the fridge twice before they even got it into the house. They chipped paint off the walls, dented the fridge, and lost parts of it during the installation process. Possibly the most incompetent appliance movers/installation 'specialists' ever. We chose to buy our appliances here rather than Yale Electric when we renovated our kitchen to support smaller local businesses. Also, this appliance store was recommended to us by our architect. What a mistake! Our sales associate, Andy, misinformed us on the appliances we bought, provided us with outdated useless rebate papers, and most disturbingly accepted $500 for an extended services/warranty contract, but NEVER SIGNED US UP. Instead, AA has been sending their own incompetent/unqualified plumbers and other repair people who have NOT FIXED our new Kitchaid dishwasher and refrigerator lemons over the past 3 years. True, they will match prices, but do not go here if you expect installation/repair services that are available at larger stores like Yale Electric. Believe the bad reviews on this site...I wish I had read them before wasting so much money here. We are in the process of filing consumer complaints with the BBB among others. read more

On October 17, 2012, my wife and I visited AAA, to buy a new gas stove. We found the salesperson (Donna) to be very helpful. We purchased a stove, with arrangements to have the stove delivered and installed the next day (for a fee). The delivery guys (Paul)and his partner) were promptly on time and did a great job taking the old stove out and putting the new one in. A couple of hours after they left I wanted to use the oven. The oven would not work, it would not get out of preheat. After reading the manual several times, trying to get the oven to work, i became very frustrated. We were getting rid of the old stove because the oven didnt work, so here we were a brand new stove and still no working oven. I called AAA and spoke with Gary. At one point during the conversation he intimated that it was probably operator error. I took offense to this. He stated that they would have a technician come out Wednesday, this being in 6 days. Needless to say this did not make me happy considering we payed to have the set the stove up and they wouldnt make arrangements for anyone to look at it for 6 days. Gary's answer to my dilemma was giving me the number of Whirlpool and speak to them; I must say, while in the store their customer service was very good, resulting in a sale. Apparently once they got payment for the stove that was the end of their customer service. We specifically try to shop at local businesses to support them, with the hopes that they would be receptive to good customer service to keep customers coming back. We could have been treated like this from one of the big chain stores. Too bad they do not value customers, with good customer services. Very disappointed after having great service from them several years ago. This transaction was handled over the phone as there was no reason to go in. Dean was our salesman in the past but for whatever reason, passed us off to Alex this time. We were looking for a washing machine and told Alex exactly what we wanted. He gave us limited number of options, leaving out several Whirlpool models that met out needs and after telling him we preferred Whirlpool. Their price was NOT the lowest (by appx $50) on an item costing less than $500 and we had to ask for price match. Alex was not very helpful over the phone and sent rude unprofessional emails in response to our feedback. Delivery was also a problem. They scheduled without first clearing date with their service. Delivery company came through at great inconvenience saying it wasn't the first time this happened. I was relying on past experiences but will not use them again. Left multiple messages for Dean to call (so we could discuss our disappointment with Alex) yet we never heard from him. Judging from recent reviews, we are not alone. read more

The never return calls and refuse to service anything outside of my work hours. Despite the fact that they are located a mile from my house , I needed to get service from Yale Appliance. Three times I've called for repair service and all three times they've managed to screw it up - claiming they'd called me to switch a date or time, not getting to me on time, etc. Worst of all is the horribly stupid person who runs the repair aspect of the store. Apparently she's either too dumb to call the repair guy and get an time estimate or she's too obnoxious to do it. I wish I could say that using your local store was a good plan, but in this case it isn't. I am committed to trying to shop local whenever possible, so I went to AAA. They were happy to take my $$ to purchase a gas range, but when it came to delivery they were the worst business I have ever dealt with ---seriously !!! Of course, THEY don't deliver and have an independent contractor do that-- no complaints about him, but I try to get a commitment of when the stove will be delivered and installed --so that I can make plans--because we all have a whole day to just sit around waiting in case it happens--- but AAA cannot/won't tell me when it will be delivered to the store for the contractor to get it!! We chose to purchase a stove from AAA Appliances over large box stores to support a local business. BIG MISTAKE! Except for the delivery being on time, the rest of our experience was far below acceptable. The gas stove that was delivered had a gas leak. This was observed by a certified plumber we hired to install the stove. When we called the store to inform them of the problem, they did not believe us and challenged the plumbers' findings. They never apologized and refused to pay for most of the cost for plumber to come back and install the 2nd new stove. The manager was rude and hostile on the telephone. We know that sometimes products are defective, and it is not always the stores fault but to treat customers in such a disrespectful way is not acceptable. Shame on them! read more

Save yourself time and $$ - go somewhere else for appliance repair!! We called for oven repair and the initial visit happened promptly. The problem was "diagnosed", and then we had to make several calls before anyone reappeared with the part to fix. As soon as the repairman left the house, I tried the oven and the problem was EXACTLY THE SAME. I called back immediately, and then had to continue to call for two more weeks before anyone returned to look at the oven again. However, he said that he was "just there to look, the guy that can fix it couldn't come." He assured me he now knew what the problem was and the person who could fix the oven would "call tomorrow." No call ensued, and my calls were not returned. Now, another week later, I've given up, kissed the $350 I spent goodbye and called another repair company becuase I NEED MY OVEN! The crew sent to deliver and install our kitchen appliances was not capable of installing. They also refused to uninstall the existing appliances. We figured we would go with a local shop to get our Jennaire stove fixed in late November. Long story short...we needed a new electronic panel ($300) and one of the stove ignitors wasn't working--we had to use a match, so we wanted that fixed. And we wanted to convert it to propane to bring it to another house. Repair guy came and said he would order the parts and fix it in a few weeks, so I gave him 50%, or $250 deposit. He came back but hadn't ordered the propane kit saying I didn't tell him to. Then he said he didn't have a drill (!?!) so couldn't remove the screws since they were stripped, so couldn't replace the cracked flint ignitor on the burner. BUT he left it for us to do ourselves--assuring me that it was no biggie if we had a drill (yet he couldn't do it?!). He asked for the other 50% and added another $50 for the propane kit since he said that wasn't in the original quote. Like a sucker, I paid in full thinking, ok, I guess we can fix the ignitor ourselves and we'll go pick up the conversion kit and do that ourselves too. THEN, what I didn't notice until he left was that he installed the stove top handle panels on incorrectly...so the big burner says it is the small one, etc. Total botch job. He charged me nonetheless as if he actually fixed everything and for the propane conversion kit and then he AGAIN NEVER ORDERED IT. So we finally got the kit and did it ourselves, but we still need to use matches to light the burner and the handles will forever be on backwards. So...after MULTIPLE calls to get a refund for installing things he never installed and for the propane kit, they rudely just now FIVE MONTHS LATER agreed to send us a check for $50. Lame, lazy and unprofessional all around. NEVER NEVER go to them for anything. Mid to high end appliances--go to Yale only! read more
