My expectations were surpassed by the quality of workmanship and dedication each member of there crew's performance. The attention to detail was amazing. From covering my inground pool with plastic sheet to prevent possible cement falling to the bottom, covering the house with plastic sheet to prevent cement splash from hitting my siding to covering the base of my 6 x6 upper deck support beams with tar based post sleeves. Most importantly, I took down two sections of fence so equipment would be able to access my back yard. I went outside to dig a hole for a new fence post that needed replacing. As I began to dig, one of the workers, on his lunch break, came to me and volunteered to dig the hole for me. These are workers that take pride in there job and are happy to be working for this company. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner and his wife and completely understand why this is such a successful company. Please give them a try on your next project.

The first project involved repointing our heavily deteriorated front porch brick steps. The patio now looks fantastic and is level, clean, and professionally finished. Throughout both projects, the team was reliable, hardworking, detail oriented, and respectful of our property. The stairs also had to correct a serious water runoff issue. The work was exceptional. The Mottern team knew what they were doing and finished on schedule. We are so over the top pleased with the business exchanges we've had with the owner, Jeff Mottern,…read moreas well as with his office manager and the entire crew. Our slate walk was replaced four years ago by Mottern and the crew. Our porch did not match the vibrancy of the walk that Mottern put down. That had been done a good 25 years ago by another company. It was a flat gray, and it was fading and developing unsightly pivots, it was not attractive. Jeff came over to access something on the walk, because he really does honor his five year warranty, and we started talking about the porch rehab, and from there the magic began. As you can see Jeff ordered the same bluestone slates that were used on the walk. Now the porch matches the walk and entire area glows with a new vibrancy that thrills me every time I look at it. On dealing with the company. Jeff is the most responsive company owner I have ever dealt with. Honestly, email him, and the next second he is responding. A totally rare and unparalleled quality in a company today. He is friendly, listens to what the customer is saying, and uses his years of experience and design skill to come up with the perfect plan to execute what the customer has in mind. The Crew: I can't say enough about the crew. They always arrive with a smile and good cheer, a commitment to focusing on the project as if it were their own home. The commitment to detail is astonishing. Each crew member has the skill set to execute the project to perfection, even throwing in some well received advice that the customer might not have thought about. Most of the crew has been with Jeff for years. Some for over 20 years. They are savvy, honest and keep the work site clean and tidy at the end of each day. I enjoyed peeking outside to watch their progress. They were able to install our new porch without damaging our existing siding or the support columns. This left us with no repair work! That was a bonus! A footnote here: Four years ago when we did our front walk, we also had Mottern provide us a back patio. Jeff designed it with creative curves and appeal, instead of a simple square design. We used the stamped concrete method on the patio, which is still beautiful and we use it every day!!! The stamped concrete was made to mimic slate. Mottern can also mimic brick, but we wanted to reflect the front walk.

We found them to be a low quality company with poor sales and customer service.

We had some drainage/waterproofing issues that needed addressed, and when I found out the scope of their skills, we also hired them for a laundry list of things I had on my wish list since moving in a few years ago. These folks did it all for us! For starters, they repaired a brick wall in our front yard, installed a new sump pump drain pipe and exit, re-worked some existing exterior waterproofing that had been done sloppily in the past, and added a new concrete pad and drain by our back door. They even helped us track down an underground gutter leak and replaced the broken pipe. The showpiece job, however, is the stunning stone retaining wall, that they meticulously built by hand, across the back yard along with the new cement parking pad and stamped concrete border tapering it to our existing drive. The pictures don't do it justice (attached is a "before" photo for reference). Everything was done with great care and precision, using high-quality materials. The owner of the company, Deborah, was a gem to work with. She is super-passionate about the environment and the quality of work her company does. We worked with Gerardo and he was also fantastic. He had great ideas and suggestions in terms of practicality and design. He was also flexible with a few adjustments along the way.
