I was referred to this place by my friends listed below!…read more The name got me to start with. "Honest," yea right! Well, being from Vail Arizona and going to northern Tucson via I-10 to find an honest mechanic emblazoned my mind in very limited possibilities. Then, to drive up to a property on old La Cholla blvd not having quite reached the much improved part of town was another suspicious pre-conclusion. Even worse, half the lot was a used car sales lot and the other was Honest Auto Repair... However, I WAS WRONG WRONG WRONG. Then, the truth started growing: Clean office with a very helpful person at the front desk. Clearly informed me what the costs will be. Quickly took my vehicle to the unseen garage. Came back and told be the approximate time to repair. Listened to the outside calls to the office. Listened more than talked. (For the most part!) Family run business. Same owner for both businesses. Researched very high public ratings. (check it out yourself) Included a very nice surprise for active and retired military. Well now it's a WIN WIN WIN. Best surprise of it all? About 50% less cost than the alternatives! Thank you Gabby, Ted, John and Lucy for refering me!

Misogyny alert. Had an outright terrible experience. Came in for oil change, wanted to try these…read moreguys out. Omar rolled his eyes at my rebuffs of him trying to sell me things on top of the oil change. Same rolling of the eyes when I asked that the tires be pumped to 32 which is closer to the factory standard of 30 for my car "We do it at 35 here". I requested he print out the estimates for all the services he wanted to sell me. "Do you need me to actually print it out?" At the end, I pointed out the chauvinist attitude and was told "You're just difficult" and "God bless you!" which sounded like "F*@k you". The fee including tax for oil change had been quoted to me to be $75. I noticed I was charged $79.88. I approached a very nice staff member Tabor who took my receipt and said he would try to help. Out comes out Omar with his bullying attitude spitting out "Do you have a problem with the invoice?" I told him I would like to deal with his colleague. "Here! Out of my own pocket!" he fishes out a five dollar bill from his sweaty pocket and shoves it into my hand. And I get another "God bless you!" that has so much hatred in it. I go back to Tabor and ask him to take the bill and to give me a five out from the register. On the way home, I get a tire pressure sign which I have not seen for many months. I measure the tire pressure: 34.3, 33.7, 36.9 and 37.4. Not only was Omar rude, he was plain misogynist and unprofessional. Tabor mentioned this was not the first time a woman has complained of being treated in a hateful, misogynist way. Their boss Jerry is out on vacation. If I don't get my money back, I'll dispute the charge. Can't believe this just happened.

I took the car back, drove it for 10 minutes, all the lights came on, and it continued to run erratically. When I took it back, he had changed the ignition coils but not the spark plugs. He changed the spark plugs, and the shaking stopped, but when I used it again in the evening, the shaking continued. When I went back there, he blamed my car and recommended another mechanic, saying it was an electrical problem and he couldn't fix it. If you couldn't fix it, why did you take $486 from me? Then I went to another mechanic who fixed the shaking. He used German-made Bosch spark plugs that weren't suitable for my car. Since my car is a Honda, it should have had Japanese-made spark plugs specific to Hondas, but this guy was very arrogant. He thinks he's a good mechanic, but he's very good at taking money; his knowledge of car mechanics is terrible. Definitely don't go here.
