What a waste of time! We were given A-1 Plus Electrical name by Home Depot. When my husband called them, they gave us a timeframe of 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM. We confirmed the timeframe both by a call and an email. At 7:00 PM, we get a call saying they can't come because they're running behind. We were livid! We get that jobs can run over they allotted time but you can't make a call and let your next customer know that there's a problem? Very unprofessional! I contacted A1 Plus to get an estimate on some work. Carlos showed up right on time, listened to me explain what I needed, patiently answered all my questions, and gave me a quote. A few days later I contacted A1 Plus to set an appointment to have that work done. Again, right on time, Jeyson came and did the work and was done and gone in a very reasonable amount of time. AS AN UPDATE - THIS COMPANY HAS THREE FACEBOOK PAGES!! THAT ALONE SHOULD BE A WARNING TO POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS..Please don't be fooled by the "positive" ratings this company has! In our case, if you want to lose over $2000 and lose sleep over whether or not your house is safe or not, this is the company to use! From what started as a very simple request, install 10 LED lights to the front of our house and put up a ring security camera in the back, it has become an absolute sh**show! I completely agree with everyone on here saying that they will give you a window of when they will arrive then they will change it at least once! (in our case at 6am on the day), then fail to show up for that one, then finally arrive almost at the end of the day! One guy Matt came with the two non-English speaking guys, he does all of the talking and then leaves. When the guys got to work, a couple of hours later they came and told us they were going to lunch, anyway to cut a long story short, turned out that was a lie. In fact one of the guys cut his arm with the hole-saw he had been using! He ended up in hospital getting nine stitches. We had gone out but found out later the company sent a second crew to allegedly finish the job. The lights we were putting up were to be connected to an app, the Ring security cam was the same, however, again, unbeknown to us, they either did not, or could not read the instructions because they put the Ring light up without pressing the button to pair it (now 25 feet or so up on our house) and they never removed the battery pack to charge it BEFORE install. As for the LED's, they left that night without the lights working! They did not know anything about smart homes and could not get the lights to pair with the app, meaning the system was installed, but would not work. At that point the excuses started, first saying its not their job to make sure lights work!, only to install them!, they had also replaced a switch that day with a dimmer..we noticed that night that didn't work either! Then they told us our wifi wasn't strong enough (so we brought out Geek squad to check it who said we have complete coverage in the house and onto the Street level and with plenty of speed!, so we went back to A1 plus who again sent out Matthew, at this point we had already been sent their invoice on email twice and now Matt was asking if we would pay it cause he wasn't going to leave until the lights were all working! He gave us the whole story about how the office had completely messed up the bookings and that was why they had let us down four times (yep, that day they were supposed to be here first thing too, then in an hour..then oh they are on their way..all just more lies!) Anyway Matt started to look at the system and again he couldn't figure it out but again asked to be paid or he would be in trouble! We decided against our better judgement to pay the invoice of $2000, because at that point he had us convinced it was the lights themselves that must be the issue! That is when I told him I was hiring in an IT company to check our wifi, as soon as it was confirmed it was ok, I told Matt I was going to get a second opinion on the electrics because the IT guy told me it was a complete mess up in the attic and had I seen it? We didnt get any response from Matt, but after I put up my first review he got in touch with us telling us he had lost his phone! So we went ahead and asked two other electricians to come and see the work completed by A1 and to ask their help in finishing the jobs. When the electricians arrived they went up to the attic and took photos of what they saw, we could not believe the mess A1 plus had left our house in! They had made two large holes in our attic that led all the way to the outside! (Update, one hole now has a wasps nest built inside it), then they called us up and showed us all of the blood left behind by the A1 plus Technician over a week before! And finally the way the wiring had just been left dangling from the rafters, across our window! And not secured to the attic at all was just mind-blowing! This company knew their guy had had a serious accident in our attic, never told us!, admitted in an email later they should have told us and they should have had all of the blood cleaned up and finished the job we had paid them to do! I don't know what the law is regarding hiring fully qualified electricians to do electrical work, or if there are protections in place to make sure the guys have the correct training and protective gear when working with these power tools, but we will be looking into that side of things too. As for the state of the wiring, we are getting in touch with the appropriate Inspectors because we know this is out of code. Update: I was outside cutting grass and I noticed that the workers did not clean up after themselves. There were wires and cut pieces of materials outside in the grass. The workers cleaned up inside the house, I guess because I could see the mess, however left a mess outside. This is unprofessional behavior. It's as if there was no home training. Original post: The job was to install flood lights, new switches, and change an outside light. This company is very unorganized and the experience was awful, horrendous, long, and ridiculous!! They were asked to inform us of a date they could begin the work, after coming out for an estimate, and they called one morning at 7:30a stating they could do the work today. No scheduling! Everyone is supposed to drop everything they are doing to accommodate this company. Screw our jobs. No need to go b/c lights are being installed. They were told to give us a future date so we could properly plan. We were told the work would begin b/w 8-10a and they would call 30 minutes before arrival. GREAT! We receive a call before 7:30a stating they would arrive in 40 mins, however it was 2hrs before arrival. Upon arrival the 2 guys had no idea what the job entailed and wanted us to tell them. However these gentlemen could not speak English so how are we to discuss the job? I demanded someone English-speaking come to the house. Guess what guys show up to a job with no materials. They had to leave, shortly after arriving late, to buy the materials. They finally begin at about 11a only to work for an hour and take a lunch. When they return from lunch they ask for water. Hmm normally people who work outside carry an ice chest however I offer usually to service people who are professional and nice. The other thing is they could have picked up water when they were 2 hours late getting to my house, when they had to leave to buy materials, and when they went to lunch. They asked 3 times. Buy the third time they were leaving and they were told there was no cold water. There is a gas station around the corner and several down the street. You are getting into your car to leave and you still can't buy yourselves water? If it were me paying for the job they would have been fired before they started. They act like they are doing you a favor when they were being paid. Customer service and regard for people does not exist anymore. I will never hire them and they will never do any work for me. Lastly when the lights were initially installed they were haphazardly installed at the base of the light. There was a space between light and base and rubber hanging from the space. The light should have been installed where there should only have a seam showing. A call had to placed to the office so someone could call the works at my house to explain the lights need to properly installed. This was not a small job or a huge job however whatever you do should be done to the best of your ability. Everyone's time should be considered. read more

Upon scheduling the service through Amazon on a Wednesday, I requested the two available Saturday timeslots as preference 1 and 2, to prevent inconveniencing either my or my wife's schedule. I selected the following Monday afternoon (2-4 PM) as my third choice, which was the time slot that A-1 Plus confirmed later that day, meaning my wife or I would have to stay home that afternoon. I talked with A-1 Plus at 8:10 AM on Monday morning, and verified that they would be available during the time slot. I also asked if the 24' ceiling would be an issue, to which the lady responded, "I do not believe so, but I will check with the electrician and give you a call back." I also confirmed with the lady that there would not be any additional charge for the higher ceiling. After not receiving a call back, I called A-1 Plus at 11:38 AM to confirm that they would be able to perform the install. This time the lady asked for my name and looked up my appointment in the system. She placed me on a brief hold to confirm that the high ceiling would not be a problem, and came back on the line to tell me that all should be fine and they would perform the job on time as scheduled. After my wife stayed at home all afternoon waiting for their arrival, I received a call at 3:42 PM from A-1 Plus stating that they would not be able to perform the job that day because they would need a special ladder. She asked if they could reschedule for the next morning between 9 AM and 11 AM, at which time they would have the correct equipment for the install. Believing that they would be able to install the fan, we accepted the new time, and the fact that one of us would have to miss work again. A-1 Plus arrived shortly after 11:00 AM only to walk into the house and look up at the ceiling and state that they would not be able to install the fan on that height of ceiling. They then measured the ceiling height where the fan was to be swapped and stated that it was a 22' ceiling, which is 2 foot lower than what I had told the and repeatedly confirmed. So after two days of having to stay at home and several phone calls to confirm the details, A-1 Plus now says the best they can do is schedule yet another date for the install, for which they will charge at least $190.00. I used A-1 plus Electrical twice now. The first time through Amazon, the 2nd time I contacted them directly. I hired them twice to install ceiling fans. They arrived on time. They were very professional. I had no issues with the install of the fans. Afterward they cleaned up They also gave me a pretty good deal as I had a couple fans that I wanted installed. Scheduled for Tuesday 8/7 appointment for an estimate, no show no call; I've call to let him know no one shows up and their customer rep insist that I reschedule for the next day. call me at 9am the next day told me the car of technician broke down for the 8-10am appointment. Had already used them to replace kitchen light which was quoted at an affordable price ($129) Scheduled a date to start work and 2 men came and were right on time. Did not use their replacement part because I provided the part. One of the guys asked to use my downstairs rr which belongs to my kids. The 2 men did clean up the mess that was created in the kitchen. Everything was fine with that job. Called back 2 months later to get a quote for another light replacement, but this time outside (floodlight which I had already bought). I believe Justin came out this time and quoted $336 just to remove old floodlight and add new floodlight I had already purchased. So I called the main number to ask why the major price difference on the same type of job and the girl immediately said, "Victor isnt with us anymore" so she couldnt explain why the huge difference. Had she not lied, but took the time to THINK, she wouldve seen the google review which a customer made on Nov 3 (day before this encounter) stating "VICTOR did a great job". However, the new advisor or tech that came out this time was Justin and he was actually parked in front of the my home for a while and admitted to me that he had not approached the front door yet. He was just sitting there. Someone was in the home waiting for his arrival. The appointment timeframe was from 9:30am - 1pm and Justin arrived at 1pm, but never got out of the vehicle and I know this because I got the 30 min. window call and I also have surveillance cameras around the home. When I pulled up behind him, he got out and greeted me. Morally and ethically speaking, this business lacks certain qualities. To simply outright lie when I didnt even request the last electrician is very bold for a business. LoL! read more

Our breaker box went on the blitz causing us to loose AC in 100 degree weather. I called A1 on a Saturday at 5pm and David said he could be over between 6:00pm and 7:00pm. He arrived before 7:00pm and quickly fixed the problem at a reasonable cost. I was so impressed that I could get such response time and service on the weekend. Called to set up appt for estimate to get low voltage landscape lighting repaired, David came out next day, gave estimate of $795.00 saying would have to trouble shoot to diagnose, could be number of things, said would return next day between 8-10:00. Had to call did not show until after 11:30, no David, but very young tech. Even though I had shown David, location of lights etc, new tech did not know location, spent almost 4 hours trying to figure out configuration of wiring in transformer(of the four hours spent 1 1/2 hours at lunch and trip tp Home Depot because he did not have correct wiring in truck and to buy voltmeter, spent multiple minutes on phone with supervisor talking and taking pictures of transformer because he was not knowledgeable of system. When David showed up about 3:00 system was quickly fixed within a hour or so. Only parts used were 4-5 plastic connectors, a 10 ft strand of wire and a trench about 2 feet long and 4 inches deep was dug. I was charged $198.75 per hour and 1 1/2 hours were at lunch so my actual charge per hour was $318.00 per hour. I am retired on fixed income and can't afford that kind of money. The lady in the office of the company is a saint and even though I called her 3-4 times to complain about the young electricians ineptness and asking why David was not on the job, she was nice every time.
