I have owed A-1 this review for a while, but that it's taken me this long to write this may be more helpful in the end. Because by now I've had the chance to live with the work A-1 has done for some time and I while was ecstatic with the job when it was finished, I'm honestly even happier with it now. Originally, I reached out to A-1 to do the countertops and backsplash of a kitchen renovation. As you can see in the pictures, the backsplash is a mosaic tile and that can be somewhat difficult to work with. But this was no problem at all for A-1. Their attention to detail on both the countertops and backsplash was superb and they turned out amazing. The backsplash is the highlight of the kitchen and everyone who sees it compliments it without fail. Meanwhile, the countertops are perfect, excellent quality, durable, and the perfect choice for the room. My experience with the kitchen tile and stone was so good, I came back to A-1 for a guest bathroom remodel. Again, as you can see from the pictures, this involved a lot of tile. It also involved removing a tub, a door, installing an entirely new sink, and reworking the entire shower. A-1 handled every facet of the job from the planning and install of the shower and all the tile, to bringing in the sub-contractors for the plumbing, drywall, and electrical. And just like those working for A-1, their subcontractors were all professional, highly skilled, and budget conscious. Everything in this bathroom was re-done, the floor, the walls, the toilet, the sink, And from the shampoo box that is now the centerpiece of the room, to framing out the new LED medicine cabinet, the marble tile has turned what was a dark, cramped guest bath into something that is now inviting, open, and a subtle highlight of my home. But best of all, it's functional. I know this because since these jobs were completed near the end of 2022, I have come back to A-1 once again to now remodel my entire master bath. And as that has been going on, I have been living out of this guest bathroom. To me, that's the real test. Not just how it looks in the pictures, but how it lives day to day. And the functionality, especially in such a small space, has really paid off. I cannot recommend A-1 highly enough. Issac has put together a great team and they are one of the unsung gems in town when it comes to all things stone and tile. From helping with the design, to making sure the materials are quality, to securing trustworthy subcontractors, to their attention to detail, I cannot recommend A-1 Design Stone highly enough. We don't know if there are guardian angels, but we've learned there are guardian contractors by working with Isaac at A1 Design Stone! We've worked with them twice now after leaks led to surprise remodeling projects. Isaac and his team at A1 Stone did an incredible job installing our shower, and they did an exquisite transformation of our kitchen. Isaac listened to our design ideas, helped us refine them, and executed them with superb craftsmanship. He was here every day of the project, either working with his crew or checking on their progress. When we needed to work with other trades, he helped us coordinate them in the right order, and the contractors he recommended for that work were also uniformly excellent. Issac and his crew did a shower remodel for our master bathroom. The attention to detail was excellent and A1 Design took the time to deliver a first rate product. Each tile was meticulously installed right down to the millimeter using a laser level. Surprisingly, the basket weave tile pattern on the drain was arranged to match the surrounding tile design. Wow! While only time will tell as to how long the shower will last, so far it looks great. Issac was very responsive and he takes great pride in his work. read more

Our project was constructing a shower in the space in our second floor bath that used to be a tub. We did demo ourselves, and Isaac and Louis along with another worker whose name I never caught came in to make the shower pan, put up backer board, pour the floor, and tile the entire thing. Pros: I went back and forth with Isaac over options as we demod for probably 4 months, and he was always prompt with a reply. We also didn't like any of the tile from his preferred vendor, and he was happy to give us square footage estimates so we could buy the tile ourselves. Isaac came by and checked almost every day of the work and answered any questions I had, and by the time they were done, they left zero mess in the house or outside. Cons: It might not be important to anyone who doesn't have to take time off work, but for those who do, it was just two guys doing the work, and it wasn't always planned out well, so it took 11 days to complete, some of them being just 2 hours of work in the morning that could have been done the day before and saved a trip out. The other worker managed to break a lamp and knock three pictures off the wall next to the stairs and never said a word, if I hadn't been there I suspect no one would have told me it happened. They threw out boxes from the tile as they used them, which was nice, but we ended up with multiple open partial boxes when they were done, thankfully Floor & Decor was willing to take back unboxed pieces. Overall, it looks amazing, and Isaac was always willing to make changes as we went when things didn't work out. I would definitely recommend them with the caveat of making sure you know how long they expect the project to take ahead of time! read more

Isaac and his team were amazing redoing our kitchen! Replacing all the granite, all new tile backsplash and everything came out amazing. A complex job with saving copper sinks, cabinets in difficult places, a huge double oven range that had to be moved and much more. We checked with all the top rated vendors in Las Vegas and while Isaac was not the cheapest he clearly knew what he was doing and his team does amazing work. Never cut any corners and went above and beyond so many times. I was even out of town most of the job and he handled everything and kept me updated. I highly recommend using Isaac for granite, tile and whatever else you need. Bonus that he helped with getting great pricing on the granite stone. read more

I designed my shower and sought bids from four companies. A1 Design Stone was not the most nor the least expensive, and my primary reasons for choosing them were because Isaac, the owner, displayed confidence and professionalism, he had good online reviews and he could provide recommendations on a plumber, a glass company, an electrician and a company to fabricate quartz. I checked out his business license and those of the other licensed companies he recommended and all were free of issues. He also made excellent recommendations on where to shop for quartz. When the guys showed up to start the work, Isaac introduced Luis, his 'best guy', who would be building my shower. I was impressed to have the best guy, because this was a fairly small project. As can be expected, we discovered a few challenges during the demo that required me to alter my design. No problem. Isaac was easy to work with in finding solutions and making recommendations plus, the major concept of my design remained intact. Isaac's wife even identified a missing piece of hardware and I'm thankful for her set of eyes, because the piece could have delayed our timeline. Isaac helped me in other ways, too. For example, he picked up the quartz slab and delivered it to the fabricator and he installed hardware on the vanity. In the end, the shower looks quite good - in my humble opinion. That's the excellent part. The not so excellent is ... On the first day of work, the best guy showed up, dropped off the helper and disappeared. Reporting this to Isaac did not prevent this from happening again on the following Saturday. Porcelain tile has a pattern, which means the tile needs to be installed randomly. Unfortunately, three tiles in a row, more than four feet of the eight-foot high rear wall, are the same tile/pattern. When I brought this to Isaac's attention, he apologized and said Luis might have been tired and that they would learn from the mistake. It was too late to do anything about it for my shower though. I also brought to Isaac's attention that the shower seat and the curb do not drain properly; water remains on the horizontal surfaces until it dries on its own, unless I take a squeegee to it. Isaac saw this and said the drainage grade is to code. I don't know what code is or how to measure grade, but what I do know is that these horizontal surfaces don't drain properly, whether they are built to code or not. The shower has a niche and the horizontal surface of the niche drains properly. My original design was for an open shower with no door, but because of this drainage problem, I had to add a door to prevent water flowing off the curb onto the bathroom floor. The shower floor has puddling and inconsistent spacing between the tiles, as you may see in one of the photos I included, which was taken three hours after the shower. There were other problems, albeit minor, and one that I'm still dealing with after five weeks, but they result from the plumber and glass company and not a direct result of the work of A1 Design Stone. Isaac and I seem to disagree on the drainage grade and I consider it a deficit. His reaction to my disagreement made me a bit uncomfortable. I found his reaction quite out of sync with my other interactions with him. As a result, I did not bring other issues to his attention. In the end, I am happy with the shower remodel and I love the look of it. My rating here reflects my overall experience with A1 Design Stone and the finished product. read more

Issac did my home's marble floor and fireplaces about 8 years ago, and we worked together all the way from the design stage to picking out the stone. Having him on the job was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. About a week ago, I was in a bit of rush and made the unwise decision to have my handyman try repairing some recent damage to my floor. Bad call. The marble got all screwed up and even more damaged that it had been to begin with. I then remembered Isaac and what a great job he had done the last time I worked with him. Called him up, and despite it being very short notice he was able to send a crew out. They did a truly wonderful job with the marble repair and replacement, just like the last time. We decided to upgrade our kitchen (floors, counter-tops, back-splash, cabinets, appliances) and bathroom (counter-tops, sinks, cabinets) and were nervous about the process since we have never done a house improvement project this complex or expensive. We found A1 through an internet search and decided to get a quote from them based on the reviews. I wanted to use one contractor for the entire job (A1 does not do plumbing or cabinet work), but his price quote was fair and I got a good impression from the owner (Isaac) when he came to our house to review our requirements. I am fortunate to say we made the right decision because our three-week project (one week to pick materials and plan, two weeks for demo and install) just completed and we are very happy with the output. Through the experience I found Isaac to be extremely trustworthy, responsive and dedicated to deliver quality results. His team was also highly skilled and hard-working, staying late and working on weekends to complete the job in a timely manner. They all kept a great attention to detail and kept our house as clean as they could throughout the project. We did not have a detailed timeline that showed what would take place every day for the duration of the project, but we did connect with Isaac daily to understand what was completed for the day and what was on the agenda for the next. I bought my retirement home knowing it would need renovation. First on the agenda was the master bath. The original plan was to completely tile the shower area. We found some really pretty marble at a discount price and decided to do the whole window wall of the shower and the vanity top with the same stone. I hired a contractor who introduced me to Isaac to do the stone work. One of the things we liked about the marble was the veining. We wanted to try and keep the veins running in the same direction on all the pieces that were cut. Isaac worked with us and added a shower seat and half wall on the shower door side from the same marble and all cut to follow the veining in the marble. Isaac and his crew did a great job. The veins run from piece to piece making the marble look thicker and allowing the marble to flow from piece to piece. They did such a great job that several years later we had lost his phone number and hunted him down to do our new kitchen island slab. When we got Isaac to our house turned out he knew our contractor and they too had lost touch over the years. Our contractor had more jobs that he was thrilled to have Isaac back to do. Our new kitchen slab is roughly 10 ft by 6 ft with an angled cut at one end and again we wanted the stone to look thicker and the patterning to flow over the edges to look natural and Isaac and his workers pulled it off. Isaac also installed a manufactured stone on our counters and fireplace hearth to compliment the granite island slab. We are very happy with the results.
