Went back to try again after some years. Unfortunately, they did it again and up charged me from laundered shirts to dry clean, doubling the price for all my shirts. Again without contacting me for up charge approval before doing the work. I should have clarified this at drop off. I was hoping it was a one off. But it wasn't. Was a customer for 30+ yrs, Memorial/Town & Country Location. In the fall of 2025 noticed my bill was 40% higher. Figured out A1 (without request or permission) was dry cleaning my 100% cotton dress shirts for an extra $2.00 each and not my standard 30 yr laundry/press. When confronted, was told A1 will no longer launder dress shirts bc they cannot get them clean and only will dry clean. So, for the last 30 yrs you're telling me you have not got my shirts clean!! Total BS and just an excuse for a money grab. Will never go back. Several of my neighbors noticed the same thing. read more

WORST customer service!!! I dropped a comforter & 2 shams for dry cleaning (2/10), I asked when it would be ready but the man taking the order seemed not sure with the computer system. The ticket says it would be ready later that same day. I returned the next morning (2/11), a lady looked up the ticket and said that it's not ready but would be that evening after 5pm. I returned the next morning (2/12), the SAME lady looked up the same ticket, said that she didn't realize that it was a comforter and it's not ready (what does the computer say?!! How did she not realize the day before when she looked it up? Why did she give me the incorrect return time?); that I should know that a comforter takes 3-4 days (I don't work in dry cleaning, no one told me on my multiple visits & that's not what the ticket says!) and that it will be ready that same evening after 5pm! 3 visits to pick up one ticket! I expressed my frustration & lack of communication by the staff. If the lady had given me an accurate return time then I would have been ok & understood. I work in customer service, if there is a miscommunication or mistake, the employee should take ownership, apologize & make a remedy! No offer of discount or any remedy offered and I as the customer was made to feel at fault!!! I will not take any further business there! read more

I decided to give A1 Cleaners a try since they are in my neighborhood. When I picked up my cleaning, I realized that they dry cleaned one of my husband's business shirts instead of laundering it. I was charged approximately $6 instead of the regular $2 rate. When I pointed the problem out to them, I was told that they wouldn't refund me the difference because they had already done the dry cleaning. I recently had an expensive shirt ruined here. I'll start by saying that I've been coming here consistently for six years ever since I moved to the area. Even after I moved away, I still continue coming here to support the local business. I recently took in a brand new shirt that I've only worn one time, black shirt, which I showed to the gentleman who took my clothes for dry cleaning, asking him if this was a material that they could dry clean. He asked that it was. MY POINT- WE INSPECTED THIS SHIRT TOGETHER. When I went to go pick up my dry cleaning last week, there was red tape all over my black shirt around orange bleach marks, and they told me that they wouldn't clean the shirt because of the bleach marks. The gentleman who I picked up the clothes from was different than the gentleman with whom I dropped off the clothes. No one bleaches a black shirt and I definitely didn't bring mine in bleached. so they ruined it and didn't take responsibility. My shirt is ruined and I will never be going back here. Since we're here, I should probably also mention that I took a rug to them two years ago to clean, and although it came back cleaned, it came back stained permanently with additional colors. Yikes. I recently used A-1 Cleaners for the first and last time. I dropped off a Queen comforter and two pillow covers. At the time of the drop off, the lady provided me a ticket with no price, just a pick up date so I wanted to be sure of the cost prior to me leaving. She advised me it would be $35 TOTAL (which I thought I was kinda high but okay). Today I went to pick it up, the same lady was at the front desk. She rung me up $51! I asked her how and we discussed $35. She told it is now $51. Seeing that I wanted my comforter back I went ahead and paid. But that is the last time I will do business with them. It wasn't about the money. She was rude and unapologetic about the price at pick up when I asked her about the $35. Never again! read more

A-1 Dry Cleaners is right down the road from where I live, and so I mentioned it to Stephen Y when he was looking for a dry cleaners. He brought in his suit, and they originally told him it would cost $20. When he went to pick it up, they only charged him $8.99 + tax, and he got his suit back within 2 days. He was pleasantly surprised....he took a quick look at his suit and none of the buttons were missing. Last time he went to Men's Wearhouse to get his suit dry cleaned, and they charged him $25 (he won't be going back there anymore). read more

I have been using these cleaners for over 2 years. The ownership of the store has changed recently. Not that I had any issues with the last owners, but they were not very welcoming or took criticism well. They were always right. I did not have too many choices to go elsewhere so I stuck around. Then the new owner took over the store. What a difference in service - night and day. If I could give zero stars, I would. Long ago, I went to this place because it was conveniently located on my route to work. I must've had unpleasant experiences because seven years later, I am now returning but obviously from sheer desperation. My regular dry cleaners flooded, I flooded, so only had a few items I was able to take with me, and was forgetful of the previous bad experiences before they moved locations. I now remember they shrunk a skirt and broke some buttons. But this review is 2017. Let's get back to my frustrating experience. I dropped off a good handful of items, work dresses and jackets. Hundreds of dollars later, I got one dressed returned saying they didn't clean because they spotted a snag which I never noticed before. It's been a few days since I examined the clothes that were cleaned, but picked out a dress only to find the ribbon neckline mangled. It is currently returned to their possession and awaiting management response. I'll update this as I have a verdict. I guess I wouldn't care so much if it weren't name brand dresses I didn't spend too much money on, but sadly, not the case. I chose to dry clean them. My choice to come here out of haste because my flooded house was nearby and I needed to consolidate my FEMA visit I waited almost a month to get. I even asked about a discount to help out since I had a good stash to be cleaned, but they said, nope, while they did not flood, their business was impacted as well. They couldn't extend me any discounts or promotions. I will choose to go somewhere more compassionate next time. Dry cleaning can be expensive, but if I choose to, I will find another place. I will find a business who helps their community in a time of duress and takes care of the few belongings I was able to rescue when flood waters took away most of my wardrobe and favorite things. They do a poor job on hemming jeans, it just doesn't look professional. I instructed them to keep the original hem on one of my jeans and they didn't do it. One star is because the staff is super kind. The other star is because they do return your clothes in their original condition, just 2 sizes smaller and a few inches shorter. I had been a customer for years but the past few times I've gone, my dresses have shrunk to the point that they are no longer appropriate to wear. As many reviewers have mentioned, this business is conveniently located from my house. But there is ZERO customer service. Employees and the owners are all unfriendly, they barely make eye contacts, there is no greeting, no smile, you'd think they are mad at you for coming into their store. Also, there is no pricing of their service listed and their fee is shady, I still don't know how much I am paying per garment. The receipt they generate also does not contain number of garments you drop off, and unless you count yourself, you will never know if you are getting all your stuff back. I know for a fact that they have lost a few shirts of mine. They have also given me someone else's clothes as well. But I continue to use this joint due to the convenience of the location, they should count that as their blessing. I have been using A-1 Cleaners for two years without incident. But over the last 5-6 months, my clothes come back with stains not removed, buttons missing, and yesterday, they returned one of my fine linen blouses ruined. I cannot wear it again--oh, sure, maybe for yard work. I picked it up last Friday, took it out to wear on Saturday and noticed 3 stains on the back of one of the sleeves--which were not there when I originally took it in. I immediately returned it to have it re cleaned. It was returned yesterday with the 3 stains still on the sleeve. I spoke with the man in there and he claimed he didn't know what happened and had the audacity to suggest the stains were there when I originally brought the garment in. He never apologized and never offered to compensate for a blouse I spent $100 for 3 months ago. All this after I have been a customer for 2 years. Never going back!! read more

The worst, they continued to destroy buttons on my shirts with no explanation/reimbursment, the straw the broke the camels back was yesterday they handed me a shirt that hand grease stains and water stains on it. They told me it was brought in this way. My argument was not so, it went from my body, to my hamper to my car and here. I have been going to this cleaners for quite sometime. It's in my neighborhood and convenient. For the last 2 years the quality has constantly gone in the wrong direction. I get clothes back with stains and have to request redo's all the time. Well just last week among $120 worth of clothes was a silk dress which is to be dry cleaned only. I got it back and it shrunk and had a redo label tagged in it. Obviously my Michael Kors dressed had been washed. I went in and told the owner I was very unhappy about this and gave her my business card with my name and address. I did not make a scene because other customers were there. She whispered we will take care of it. My business card had all my information on it, if she was interested in taking care of the horrible mistake. I've yet to hear from them. ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK.
