10/5 Stars! Best Upholstery Shop Around! I found A1 Auto Upholstery thanks to Paulo at D&G Auto Repair in Watertown. He told me that A1 Upholstery and Vatche the owner were perfection! It's only about a mile away from D&G Auto Repair in Watertown. He was absolutely right! From the first phone call, Vatche (the owner) was incredibly helpful. He gave me clear directions to his shop, making it super easy to find. Once I arrived, he kindly offered me a ride to a local place while he worked on my car for a couple of hours. He dropped me off at the nearby library and picked me up 90 minutes later, talk about superb customer service! When I returned, I was thrilled to see my 2017 Subaru Outback wagon driver seat looking brand new. Vatche took the time to explain the repair process, showed me the part he removed, and even gave me a quick tour of his shop. A1 Auto Upholstery can truly handle anything from collectible luxury cars to boats and all kinds of leather work. The turnaround time was fast, the quality top-notch, and the price fair. Calling him at 2:00 PM on a Friday in August and getting the work done immediately felt like a miracle. Vatche is a rare find: professional, kind, and incredibly generous. I only wish I could give more than 5 stars. If you need upholstery work done, don't look anywhere else! read more

My driver's seat in a Cadillac CTS V had somehow developed a major frame crack and became, well, a rocking chair! Vatche, A1, and the crew to the rescue! In just four hours, they removed the seat from the car, disassembled it, isolated the broken frame weld, re-welded it, then reassembled and reinstalled the seat. Good to go! Now all is super solid and at a very reasonable price. Thank you, A1! read more

They replaced the sunroof on my car super quickly and for a very reasonable price. 10/10 service

I highly recommend going to A1 auto upholstery for your repairs. I needed two different seats, which they completed in one day. I'm amazed that you can't tell the difference and their pricing is fair and reasonable. I would give A1 auto upholstery six stars if that were possible. read more

I stopped by today to see about a repair to the driver's side front seat, 2019 Subaru Outback. The left side of the 'leather' seat was all cracked and torn- I think from kneeling on it when it was cold. The dealer had quoted me $900 for the part - basically the entire seat bottom replacement. I felt this should be a Subaru recall issue even before A1 told me they have done more than 100 of these. In any event, they had space in the schedule and did the work same day. It is beautiful work, basically a reconstruction of one side of the seat. It is indistinguishable from the other side and you would never know it was repaired. This for a very small fraction of the cost and a tiny fraction of the aggravation I'd experience working with the dealer. Highly recommend!!! read more

Fantastic job on the replacement of the seat cushion on my Escalade. Vatche and his crew are true professionals.

The zipper on my Jeep Wrangler soft top broke - and it's very difficult to find places that either have the right zipper, or will repair soft tops. A-1 does all sorts of car interior repairs/customizations - and they were able to order and install a new zipper for me within about 3 days. Fast, polite, and reasonable pricing. read more

These guys did a great job repairing a ripped seat in our BMW. They had the leather in stock AND got it done in just a few hours. Plus, they were able to install a new stereo as well. Jacks of all trades, friendly, top-quality work. read more

Had a beloved old leather recliner with a tear and some worn spots... checked furniture repair businesses and found that they either don't know how to handle leather or they cost a fortune. So I thought about giving these guys a try, and I'm very glad I did. They did a wonderful job with a one day turn-around for a fraction of the price of the other quotes. You work directly with the boss... this is a locally owned community business and it's run that way with good service, expert work and very fair prices. I would certainly work with them again. read more

I brought my Jeep to the shop because the back zipper on my soft-top broke. Within the day it was completed and better than new. It is not easy to find someone able to do a zipper replacement, but he did an excellent job at a reasonable price. read more

I spoke to Mr. Sarkissian via phone in regard to boat cushions which were 30 years old. He suggested I stop bye anytime and he would offer suggestions, options, and prices. When I visited his shop it was spotless. His prices on full replacement were fair and I gave him the job. He completed the job in one week even though he was very busy and they look AMAZING! The shop is very professional, no runaround, and real craftsman. I will use this shop again. read more

I took my otherwise flawless 2008 Acura TL Type-S in for repairs to drying and cracking perforated leather on the front seats. A-1 did an amazing job of matching the specialized color and repairing the seats like new. They also completed the job in one day. Highly recommend. read more

Top quality convertible roof replacement. Friendly and helpful. Very pleased with results!

I am super picky and I TOTALLY recommend this place. Vatche is a really good guy and did a great job. I had them replace a headliner in my Jaguar XF and it looks amazing. I had called some other place and the guy didn't want to help me. The other guy went on on about how he hates Jaguars and won't work on them (same with Porsche). Not Vatche...he was totally receptive, told me just what he need to do, and did it exactly as he said he would. And, it looks great! The funny thing is that he was recommended to me by a friend who had a custom glass put into his Porsche Boxter convertible top. He too was told by other people that it couldn't be done but Vatche did it and that came out great too. Certain Boxters came with a plastic back window that gets cloudy from wear. I like to go out of my way to review if someone does a good job and this place is GREAT.... read more

A-1 repaired a small tear inside the door of my one month old Subaru Crosstrek. I wasn't sure if it could be fixed, but the work and service were great and the tear is essentially invisible now! And the price was reasonable too! read more

A1 was extremely unprofessional, rude and deceitful. They deliberately misquoted the job to make it seem like a reasonable cost, and after I had given them a down-payment and was therefore committed to using them, they over-charged me on parts and significantly increased the amount of labor expense. Another words, once they knew they had the job, they took full advantage of the customer. The workman was arrogant and unscrupulous. He even threatened me by refusing to return my car unless I paid him in cash - which was a lot of money for a job poorly done. It is understandable why they are not approved by the Better Business Bureau. read more

After more than ten years of use, my Lexus driver's seat had a significant tear in the leather upholstery. I brought it to A-1. Mr. Sarkissian did an outstanding job to make it as good as new. The seat repair is flawless and was finished on time. They even cleaned the carpets! What a pleasure to have the work done so professionally. He is a nice man as well and deservedly takes pride in his work. Thank you A1 !! read more

The interior surface of my car's rear door experienced a 1 inch tear. I looked at six qualified repair shops specializing in this type of interior repair work and selected A-1 Boston in Waltham, MA. The work they did was amazing. You cannot tell there was any damage to the door originally. The two-person staff handled my request quickly, scheduled me for a repair within two days and completed the work in an hour. I was able to drop my car off at 8:30 AM, went down the street to the local Dunkin Donuts and by 9:30 they called my cell to let me know the repair was done. I was very impressed with their professional approach and high quality of work. You can tell by past clients that have high end sports and luxury cars that they probably have a demanding clientele with high standards. Also, the cost of the repair was very reasonable and the original quote was the same as another reputable repair company in an adjacent town. I would highly recommend this specialized company for future work. read more
