Montessori School of Snohomish County Review (MSCC). After the Fall of 2022, it has been more like…read morea hostile takeover in comparison to the well-run Montessori School that we had been enrolled in for almost three years prior.   These are just a few documented situations I have seen in the past 18 months that have made me un-enroll and leave these reviews and reports to various groups.   1 Teacher turnover. There has been a concerning amount of teacher turnover, teachers who have been teaching for multiple years, had continued education and training in the Montessori world. They valued the education and structure they were giving and teaching to children. They left for lack of organization, and violations of children's safety (medicine mix-ups, observations of students being grabbed, put in restraint time outs, children being cut down for what they wore or were given to eat from home. False situations are being documented targeting children they don't want to work with anymore). They left because of not being paid correctly, not having the correct ratios or ages in the classroom, not being given adequate breaks, and being threatened by office employees that listen to conversations from the cameras throughout the buildings. These teachers are now being replaced with "walk-in applications" teachers with no experience. There has been no confirmation that background checks are even being done.   2 Communication on school closings, and fees. One minute they are a school and go according to the Everett Public School calendar for days off/snow days. One minute they are a care facility and want to do days off for conferences for two- and three-year-olds. They seem to change the way they run things based on what is convenient for them. There is no rhyme or reason. As a parent, you are just at the mercy of the poorly communicated, and illy timed messages from the app.   3 You will NEVER get a callback; three observed concerns were so concerning that the owner was called directly. All three times she answered her phone, she declared that the situation was concerning and did try to communicate her dedication to safety but yet... she continued to allow her office employees to make some major mistakes without real repercussions on them. She may be dedicated to safety by handing out money for new locks on a few doors but that is about all that is seen. There is never a call back on a true solution.   4 Not Montessori anymore. They may have 1-2 teachers that have previous Montessori backgrounds, or a little continuing education. But generally, outside of the materials and the "rug play" there are no Montessori foundations or accreditations. Just the Montessori payment monthly.   Care is hard to find but keep searching.

She loves Miss Mandy and Miss Alli, who are always kind, generous, willing to help her go through toddler things like learning to share, learning to act independently, potty training and so on. They always have fun activities, like Mr. Dave who comes in with his guitar to lead songs for the kids or other instruments to teach them about music. Stella often brings fun crafts home, makes friends there, and they always give us great notes and feedback on our girl. We know they are learning, growing, staying safe and being well cared for at Harbour Pointe Montessori and I'd recommend the school to anyone.

They did crafts and play learning, but he did not even learn the alphabet! most of the children at the school are preschoolers, so don't expect any traditional learning or development of social skills for older kids. He is starting first grade this year and is failing every subject! This school was a very expensive babysitter. I wish we had saved our money and sent him to public school kindergarten. Parents beware. There is little learning going on and if you plan on continuing to anything other than Montessori your child will be woefully behind.

5 Stars, Great educators, a safe environment, and a wonderful sense of community. I highly…read morerecommend this preschool!! I moved our little family from Hawaii 4 years ago when my children were 3 and 1 years old. My main concerns I was looking for in a school are a safe environment - where my child can feel safe and welcome at the school and with the teacher. Not familiar with the area and not knowing anyone in Lake Stevens, I was concerned with who was caring for my children. I am a stay-at-home mom and often have my children cling to me when we go to new places. I also wanted a place my children could learn to listen to another grown-up and socialize with other children. Sunnyside exceeded my expectations due to their wonderful staff; who have provided an environment of comfort and care. During the 4 years, my children were enrolled at Sunnyside, the school has gone through some major changes - from condensing into one campus, hiring new teachers, and new playgrounds - to maintain the growth of the school. But during that time, they did not lose the caring concern they had for each child attending. I am not one to measure my child's growth by academic standards at this age, I can only ask that the school teach my children social behaviors that display small levels of maturity for our little humans. I am proud to say I have two kids entering into grade school all thanks to the growth and development they have achieved at Sunnyside. Mrs. Cindy Brengman has established and maintained a wonderful place to care for our little ones. I'd like to personally recognize the amazing teachers we have had the pleasure to teach our kids: Ms. Leslie welcomed both of my children as their introduction to school. She is wonderfully patient with 3-year olds. As expected of the littlest students, most of the kids struggle with separation. Both of my kids cried, especially my youngest. But every time I picked him up he was happily playing with his friends and adored his teachers. Ms. Kendra had my daughter and she was wonderfully fun. She was engaging and attentive to their personalities. I loved the feedback I would get from Ms. Kendra ensuring that Abby's handwriting was normal and progressive even though it was backward. I was also impressed with how much my daughter retained the Spanish language she learned from Ms. Kendra. Finally, she helped be a familiar face once my son started to attend preschool and would often assist with the transition at drop off since he recognized her as big sis' teacher. Ms. Ana was a great transition to prepare into kindergarten for Abby. Structure and curriculum were important to Ms. Ana and following a schedule helped Abby prepare for Kindergarten. Ms. Brenda taught my son and is my favorite teacher for these little minds. Her knowledge and skills are invaluable. She is what every school needs 20 of. Her ability to encourage creativity and see the little shimmers of potential in these little hands and minds are extraordinary. I take extra time at home to teach my children basic kindergarten curriculum, so they have the tools and reinforcement at home. What I often forget is to just let them be and become whatever they need. That requires time spent creating. Ms. Brenda interpreted my son's drawings and helped him to develop the images and put value in a description. This is a great reminder to me and also helped him to feel confident in his creations. Being the younger sibling, he was becoming discouraged with his abilities compared to his sister. He is very smart, and I felt he was knowledgeable to test into kindergarten early, but I wasn't sure behavior-wise. By the end of the year, he had grown and matured so much. I am proud to say he passed the test and is headed into kindergarten next year. Ms. Brenda is wonderfully encouraging, and I could see how much my son loves her as he always drew pictures of her or of others who had "red glasses like Ms. Brenda."
