They were incredibly helpful and also understanding when we showed up 30 minutes late. This vet is over 30 minutes from my home; and now I am going to bring MY three dogs to see this vet at Britt Animal Hospital because of the positive attitude of the staff. They were incredibly caring about how poorly my friends dog was feeling. The doctor's and veterinary assistant's compassion and "bedside manner" is TOP NOTCH!

This is a very personal review. I love my dog dearly. His name is Otis Redding. He is a French…read moreBull Dog that is three years old. Otis reactive which means, he gets really excited when he meets human's and other dogs. He is also very protective of my wife and I to whom he spends most of his time with. I have hired several trainers and behaviorists to help us with Otis. Let me be clear, Otis is the best dog we have ever had 95% of the time. It is the other 5% that we want to improve. I also wanted Otis to have a place to be boarded so my family can go on a cruise next year. That is the foundation of my needs and story. I purchased a package for Otis at Creative Dog Training for 20 days of "Interactive Dog Day Care". In addition, I hired them for for sessions of dog training with my wife and I. Please remember, this is not my first rodeo on dog training. Otis has gone for close to 20 visits, Monday through Friday every week. He has made both human and dog friends. Some days, the owner of "Creative Dog Training" sends me a short video on Otis progress. Other days, Otis gets kind of a report card of how he is doing. Brining him from Down Town Birmingham to the Summit area every day has been no fun at all. I choose to do it because it was the only way I could give Otis a deep dose of acclimating him to everyone. Today we did our first session with the owner/trainer. Once Otis walks in the door of CDT, he a zero issues with other dogs and is open to new human friends. The training session is about 1/2 and gave my wife and me so very easy hints on working with my dog at home. CDT is not cheap however anything in life that is worth having has a cost to it. I know have a place to board my dog and a better dog at home. We still have huge improvement needed. However, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Hope this helps anyone who reads this review.

I wish we had come here sooner, as our pet's life might have been extended, or at least had a better quality of life, during the last year or two. As it was, I could tell a noticeable difference once we swapped here from other, nearby vet clinics. They never minded questions and always took such good care of him. And when it was time to go to the Rainbow Bridge, they handled it with a lot of compassion, love, and kindness. I know they knew it was a delicate time, and that we were going through a lot. They helped us make that decision, helped us spend those last precious moments, and helped us with what to do afterwards in regards to cremation, burial, etc. Whenever we do decide to get another family pet, I know we'll be coming back here for his or her care.

I am beyond alarmed by my experience with Magnolia Mutts. I brought my dog in for a temperament…read moreevaluation--a controlled, basic service required before boarding--and during that process, they lost my dog. This is not a minor mistake. It reflects a serious failure in supervision, handling protocols, and basic duty of care. When a business accepts responsibility for an animal, there is an expectation that proper safety measures, secure containment, and trained staff are in place at all times. The emotional distress this has caused my 7yr old daughter cannot be overstated. Pet owners trust facilities like this with members of their family. Losing a dog under your care demonstrates negligence that should concern anyone considering their services. I strongly advise others to carefully evaluate whether this is a safe environment for their pets and to ask detailed questions about their safety procedures, staff training, and incident response protocols.

Summary: My dogs behaviors were not corrected and were in fact made worse. Trainer cancelled…read moreappointments multiple times, sometimes even on the same day. Said he would refund us and did not and is now ghosting us.* I feel like others should be made aware of my experience. I contacted Ben about a small breed dog that I rescued just before the pandemic. This dog has a huge fear of strangers that we have been unable to make progress with on our own. Anytime he sees a stranger or hears a noise he associates with a stranger he has fits of shaking and uncontrollable barking/ growling. I was apprehensive about Ben being able to help us but when he met with us he said he was completely certain he could help our dog and that "he would be like a whole new dog" when he was done. Ben also said that if we were unhappy with our dogs training that we would not pay the second installment of $625. Due to this, I agreed for our dog to stay with him for the two weeks of training. When we arrived on the agreed upon day and time to drop our dog off, Ben wasn't expecting us. He still agreed to take him but said he had to meet another client in 15 minutes so our farewells were rushed. By the end of the two weeks Ben told us he wanted just one more day with our dog several times and cancelled drop off on us once so our dog actually stayed with him 3 weeks. It got to the point I was afraid something had happened to him and he didn't want to tell us. When he did bring our dog back, the barking remained largely unchanged. He even had a complete come apart when the school bus came while Ben was with us. It was at that time that Ben offered to do some additional lessons in our home because he said he thought our dog was close but not quite there yet. He then left our home but came back shortly to request the other half of the payment. I thought this was odd because I had assumed we would discuss that after the additional lessons since the dogs behavior was still so unchanged. I felt a bit pressured so I did pay him the other half but stressed my concerns with him and he assured us with a few additional lessons that the barking behavior would be gone. After having our dog back home it was apparent the barking was completely unchanged and were in fact now even worse. Now he was even barking at us when we came in from another room or got up off the couch. The extra lessons never happened. He cancelled multiple times for various reasons sometimes rescheduling multiple times in the same day only to cancel. Finally I texted and said we wanted to pursue other options and felt we were entitled to a half refund. On his website he says he does not use negative reinforcement but basically the only things he taught us to do to correct the barking was pulling on his collar sharply or stomping at him. That might work for a dog barking for the fun of it but for fear based barking it just made our dog afraid of us. For us it just felt wrong and wasn't getting results. We followed all of his instructions to the letter and our dog was way worse for it. He agreed to the refund and said he would process it as soon as he could. A week goes by and no refund. I text him about it and he replied that he is on vacation and would address the refund when he got back. That was nearly three weeks ago. Now he is ghosting us. I feel like I've been scammed.
