French Onion Soup Pizza

This was our second visit to AW Wander and both visits were outstanding! They have a wonderful beer menu and delicious pizzas. Food orders are made at the bar then your food is delivered to your seat. Everything is made fresh! The place is comfortable and not too loud. An easy to find location. While it doesn't have its own parking, we didn't have any problems finding a close parking space. Definitely a place to visit and visit again!

Went for dinner on a Saturday night, was busy but didn't have any issues getting a table. You place your order up at the bar area, then get your food delivered to your table when ready. We started with the pickled egg appetizer since we were curious to try. We were not a fan but it wasn't bad! I tried the sausage and white bean soup which came out cold but they quickly replaced with a new bowl and were very apologetic! It had great flavor and would get it again. Next course was the Spicy Honey Pepperoni Pizza, it was delicious but I wish it had more of the hot honey on it to taste that flavor. Overall good experience and would try again!

Having been a regular at the last two places this location was, I kind of knew what to expect. Not much has changed other than the beer list is more extensive. And they do have a great selection. The pizzas are well made and tasty if a little on the pricey side. We ordered a Supreme and were not disappointed. We also ordered the bread app. That however was extremely spicey and a few of us could not eat it. Two things to be aware of: The noise level is very high due to the high ceilings and architecture. Even though there were less than 20 of us in the side room, it sounded like 50. The beer menu needs to be revamped. Rather than breaking things down by style, it should be listed by draught, bottle and can. It made it difficult to find what we were looking for. Otherwise, a nice hipster kind of hangout.

When we walked in this place was packed! They have a huge bar but there was plenty of seating in the back. We were not sure how this worked since we didn't have any waiter or waitress. You have to order drinks and food at the bar and you pay when you order. They bring the food to you. They also have a HUGE draft beer selection! If you're a beer lover you will love this place! We tried the pickled eggs which we were not a fan of. My friend got the bean and sausage soup which came out cold but was quickly replaced by the manager and he came back to check on us a few times which was nice and they were very apologetic. We got the hot honey sausage pizza which was very good but wished it had more hot honey. But I loved that you could watch it cook in the oven. Their menu is really just pizza. They have a few other things but pizza is the main food here. I would recommend this place and would come back with my husband.

Great place to find unique beer, styles for the craft beer lover to the occasional beer drinker. Their pizzas are wood fired, and created with the best ingredients. Looking for just a small snack with your beer? Try a house made pickeld egg. Spend an evening with pizza and beer, what more can you ask for!

Excellent pizza. Huge beer selection. I hosted a Syracuse Eating Club event here for 25 ppl and it was awesome. Good vibes, spacious, and I loved the pizza. It is among my favorite in the area now. It was not overly cheesy, had nice char, and the crust had the coreect amount of saltiness. I am not a beer person but my beer friends seemed to be right at home. I loved the seltzer can they had this night and others enjoyed cideron draft. Also, I generally avoid gluten but I do have it on occasion. AW Wander ferments their dough for at least three days! And I must say, I am digesting it incredibly well. They offer cauliflower crust and vegan cheese as well. Totally recommend this place!

Tl;DR: Come for the beer list, stay for the beer, and don't leave without finishing the pizza! ***Ambiance*** The cool thing about this place (beside beer) is the super chill vibe. The furniture has a modern and upscale decor which I really liked. Think opposite of a brooding dark-wood old-school pub. They have a decent-sized U-shaped bar with seating for 10-12 people around it on high-top stools. Additional seating with standard table-with-4-chairs is located in the adjacent room. I have always sat at the bar and did not get the opportunity to experience other seating options. The bar stools had a modern metallic finish (as opposed to wooden) and had padded seats. But like everything in life, where the stools excel in thier good-looks, they are limited in functionality. The seat diamerter is modest and is definitely not for everyone. If you are planning on a multi-hour visit or have back issues, it might be prudent to opt for a standard table-and-chair instead. Also, people carrying a huge wallet in their back-pockets might end up with a bruised apple.. (just saying). It might have been the intention of the owner(s) that traffic is always moving at the bar. It acts as a built-in gentle timer to remind people that it is about time to get back home (because you are feeling tired). I found the couter-top space at the bar to be appropriatly sized, and it can hold a 10' pizza pan with room to spare. I was there when all the seats were taken at the bar, and I didn't have to elbow the unknown guy next to me to eat my food. ***Staff & service*** I have always found the bar staff to be super friendly. There are typically three people working the horse-shoe, and it is very easy to catch their attention for your next drink. Cans are served with a new glass by default without asking for it. They have separate beer and food menus. Food order comes with a number. The kitchen closes earlier than the bar. All the bar-staff that I encountered there did this signature move of rolling the can once before serving. When asked, I was told it was done to mix/homogenize the beer. I don't know if that works or not, but I have started doing it at home as well...haha. ***Drinks*** Beer is one of two reasons why I come to this place. I have a 9-to-1 preference for draft vs. canned beer, but All Who Wander (AWW) is one place that is marked for exception in my book, and I go for cans instead. Their beer menu is a novella with beer styles as chapter heading. Much more extensive than this review. I find this the best place to test-drive beers before committing to a 4 or a 6-pack purchase. They also have a (relatively small) selection of drafts. You have the option of buying a 4-pack to go, and I have used it for my newly-discoverd instant favorities. ***Food*** Pizza is the other reason why I come here. There is no greater (curlinary) pleasure in life that pairing an amazing beer with a delicious pizza (or burger but that another review). I would highly recommend the honey pepperoni pizza and the sausage-onion pizza. In snacks, wander bread and pretzels with cheese were delicious. We ended up ordering multiple rounds of the pretzels. If you are in a time-crunch, wander bread is the quickest over-baked food (as recommended by the staff). If you are avoiding carbs, pickled eggs are a good option. ***Overall*** I would highly recommend this place. AWW offers the perfect venue for having good food and good beer with good company. There is sufficient variety in the food menu that will allow customization of your visit either as a quick-beer-with-snacks visit or a full long-haul dinner.

Cauliflower crust dill pickle pizza and hot honey Pepperoni pizza (regular crust)

What a great place! I'm keto right now and thought there wouldn't be many options at a pizza place, but there's a lot of options with the cauliflower crust as an option as well as many HUGE salads I saw served to our neighbors that looked delicious. My husband is a huge craft beer fan and they have both draft as well as cans you can choose from. They've got some good wine choices & could probably use a few more hard seltzer choices but overall, can never complain just cause. A little pricey with their drinks, but overall 5 stars because of food quality and atmosphere and service.

All who wander will be grateful to stop by this adorable beer bar and pub. AW Wander offers a wide selection of beers although I wish they would feature more variety from the Finger Lakes/NYS. Their menu has a number of choices - their pizzas are fantastic. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about what's on tap.

The restaurant was beautifully set up for the holiday, with a great atmosphere and a thoughtfully curated drink menu. I ordered the Toxic Ex-presso Martini, and WOW -- it was incredible. Absolutely one of the best espresso martinis I've had. For appetizers, we got the Thai chili tossed Brussels sprouts with garlic aioli, and they were to die for. Perfectly seasoned, crispy, and flavorful -- honestly, I could've just eaten that and been happy! For dinner, I had the Chicken Française, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. My husband ordered the fish and chips and said the tartar sauce was some of the best he's ever had. My son got the shrimp tacos topped with pineapple pico and served with homemade chips -- sooo good! We ended the night with dessert (because how could we not?): a layered brownie and cookie dough cake and a maple crème brûlée. Both were phenomenal and the perfect sweet ending. We've been here for brunch before and now for dinner, and both experiences have been fantastic. I cannot wait to go back and try something new! Highly recommend!

This place is perfect for the Sport's enthusiast as there are TV's on every wall pretty much, for fans to catch their favorite teams playing. There is also, a separate room off the bar area for large gatherings. Our waiter was warm and friendly. He took our order promptly.... we waited and waited for our food to come out. Mind you we ordered two sandwiches and a bowl of soup. The soup came out and again we waited. Unfortunately, all we got to try was the soup as we had an event we had to get to as our sandwiches when asked were not prepared. Sometimes things happen when you run a business and it is how you handle them that is the difference between just a restaurant and a great restaurant. This restaurant would earn five stars on just how things were handled. Kudos go to the staff there.... The French Onion soup we had for me was not my cup of tea as it was over seasoned and had way too many croutons which between the seasoning and bread overpowered the soup. My partner in crime thought it tasted OK and proceeded to devour the soup so will leave that up to you to decide LOL !!!!
