Service was mediocre at best. Seemed like they are confused about what type of establishment they are, are you a bar, a pizza place or a local food eatery. Bar service was sub par, local food was just ok at best. But the waiter's inattentive sealed it. We just wanted water, on a hot day. 1 plastic cup with ice water and waiter never returned. We paid at the bar. & left.

A Tu Gusto on Calle de San Justo in San Juan is a great place to go for delicious pizza, drinks, and much more. I really like the location and all of the different menu items that they have available here. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating to make sure that you have a good meal.

Luckily, there was a gentleman outside directing people in, otherwise we may have walked right past it. Once you climb the two flights of stairs, you're rewarded with a beautiful dining space. The restaurant has a rustic, old-world charm with gorgeous décor and an Italian-inspired atmosphere. It immediately felt warm and inviting. There were four of us dining, and we started with two appetizers: the Setas Rellenas and the Chorizo al Vino. Both were excellent, but the Chorizo al Vino was my absolute favorite--absolutely delicious! For my entrée, I ordered the chicken lasagna. I expected chunks of chicken, but it was made with shredded chicken, and wow--it was incredible. The flavor was outstanding, and it ended up being one of my favorite meals of our trip. My husband ordered the beef lasagna, which was also made with shredded beef rather than traditional ground beef. He absolutely loved it. Our friends ordered the Milanesa de Berenjena and the Milanesa de Pollo with a side of gnocchi, and both raved about their meals as well. Since nearly every table seemed to be ordering pizza, we knew we had to try one. We ordered a small pizza for the table, and each of us had a slice. Now we understand why they're known for their pizza--it was fantastic! A special shoutout to our server, Rouil Rodz, who was attentive, friendly, and provided excellent service throughout the evening. Don't let the unassuming entrance fool you. This restaurant is a hidden gem with a beautiful atmosphere, outstanding food, and excellent service. If you're visiting Old San Juan, I highly recommend adding it to your list.

We started with the pastelillo appetizer, they were fried to crispy golden perfection and both the beef and chicken ones were delicious. The green sauce that came with them was herbaceous perfection and we even got some more so that we can dip our pizza in. We got the pie with roasted garlic, prosciutto and pepperoni which was absolutely delicious. The pizza came out hot and fresh and all of the ingredients on it worked really well together and everything had great flavor. The little bites of whole roasted garlic cloves gives you that slightly sweet, caramelized garlicky goodness that us garlic lovers adore. The legal drinking age in Puerto Rico is 18 so my 19 year old nephew was over the moon that he was able to order himself a pomegranate margarita so it was fun to see him experience ordering his adult beverage! Overall we had a really great experience and the bartender was super friendly and helpful in all of the food and drink recommendations. Definitely add this to your next stop in Viejo San Juan.

I would've ordered more but we didn't want leftovers. We ordered a really delicious pizza that had pepperoni, prosciutto, roasted garlic, and salad. It was perfection! The sauce ratio, the crust, the toppings, a true perfect blend! I know people don't travel to Puerto Rico for pizza but I had my fill of the traditional food and this pizza hit the spot! The margarita is basic, the pina colada was to be as expected, but the pomegranate mojito was extraordinary! (And really expensive! $13) Overall I really enjoyed this meal but $40 of the bill was food, $35 drinks! Next time I'll skip on the drinks or just get a beer.

When we saw this place and the menu we decided to try it. Our server Kike was great! Very friendly and efficient. He also made the BEST n/a mojito I've ever had. It was so perfectly limey and minty and refreshing. It was days ago and I'm still thinking about it. lol. We ordered sliders, a plain cheeseburger with fries, cheese pizza and rice and beans. Everything was delicious and I thought the prices were reasonable for being in a touristy area. I loved the open air dining and the cute little bar area.

It is one of my recommended spots in PR, especially for when you're getting a little mofongo'd out. Many of the spots you'll see in San Juan are "bars" (more like "drink stations for tourists") that serve some select foods. La Tortuga stood out as it's a restaurant that also happens to have a bar. In our weeks visit, that was the first one we had seen! The service was friendly and fast, with all speaking fluent English. The restaurant is geared towards tourists with an English menu, but prices weren't gouging and the food was delicious. I was craving one last beef empanada before our flight home, and was disappointed to see that these were alternative versions of empanadas... but, was happy to see they were cubano- a hybrid of two of my favorite things! The cubano empanada was grilled as opposed to fried, which was *delicious*. An absolute must try in SJ. My husband ordered the bacon and egg breakfast sandwich- no flavor. Do not recommend. However, I also wouldn't recommend ordering American food outside of the mainland :) I ordered the tostones montaditos... arguably the most flavorful dish I had ordered in PR so far. Absolutely delicious! The pulled pork was rich, topping three plantain chips were more than enough for me for a meal.

I have to say it was the best pizza we've had in Old San Juan bar none. Even better than the famous Pirilo's! Here's why; the crust was perfect, not too thin, not too thick and just the right amount of chewiness. The cheese was real mozzarella not that awful local queso that gives pizza a whole other texture. Then the toppings were REALLY fresh. TOP MARKS! The location is within walking distance of the old city and the restaurant itself isn't much to shout about, but the pizza - Trust me.. if mine was not an untypical experience, you will not be disappointed.
