El Vino Crudo - Beetroot ice cream and olive oil cake

It's a cozy little restaurant that was perfect for our recent short stay in Old San Juan. I was impressed with the wine list, which featured sparkling, white, orange, rose, and red options by the glass and of course a more extensive list of bottles. I opted for two different sparkling options, a Pineau d'Aunis (rose) from the Loire Valley (strawberry notes) and a Verdeca (white) from Puglia (melon, white flowers). I drink a lot of wine and have never heard of these grapes at all, so they were fun to check out and delicious to boot. We also tried a number of different bites. They were all good, but these were the most memorable: Apio gnocchi - delightfully pillowy and nutty Dulce de papaya and prosciutto - lightly sweet and savory all at once. This might be an even better version of the more popular prosciutto and melon dish. Partamra olive oil cake - so lemony and moist Beet ice cream - this was wild! For sure my first time trying beet ice cream. It was barely sweet and had a very thick, almost custard-like texture. Special shout out to the staff, who were all so nice and chill and knowledgeable.

I had an awesome palate experience. I highly recommend. You will not be disappointed. We tried…read morealmost all the entrees

Its a fine dining restaurant so the restaurant is really upscale but they also made the restaurant a bit cozy at the same time. The service was amazing as well. Im sorry I forgot his name but he paid really good attention and constantly checked on us especially for my allergies. The food was some of the most delicious food ive ever tasted, especially the risotto (10/10). There was one dish that my girlfriend didnt like but they went immediately to get her something new. Im only giving a 4 star because the dessert i had did have something I was allergic to despite reassurance which cause swollen lips and throwing up outside. Im not sure if the dessert was pre-made but having the allergens directly on the menu may help. Otherwise I completely recommend trying here.

We got here on Sunday night and for about half and hour we were the only customers. The Sangria selection is simply overwhelming, there are about 80 Sangrías to choose from. They also have a selection of tapas, which you can "mix and match" through their sampler menu. We ordered the Sangria sampler which contained six different Sangrías (3oz each) for $18 and the mini food sampler (3 types) for $15. The sangria flavours that we ordered were: grape, passionfruit, coconut, guava, coffee and tamarind. As for the food, we ordered the Queso Frito, Guayaba Empanadillas and Chicken Alcapurrias. Each of the food items came in servings of five. I really appreciate the waitress's effort to explain the menu, as well as the food items to us. It wasn't necessary, as we would've figured out a way out but she was attentive and informative. I must say that upon arriving here, I expected some homemade sangria. Surely I didn't expect all 80 flavours to be made in-house, but I wasn't ready for the realization that all 80 flavours came from store-bought and sourced bottles. When we got the sampler, I was surprised by how overwhelmingly sweet the Sangrías were and the lack of fresh fruit flavour. The food was pretty good, I especially loved the saltiness of the queso frito. My suggestion for the owners is to start selling house-made sangria as nothing will ever beat the fresh-made taste. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the variety of flavours, as well as the service.

We were excited to give it a try, and it did not disappoint. Here's what we ordered: Braised Crab Croquettes with corn and coconut cream sauce Ceviche Crispy Ribs with Tahitian lime glaze and sea salt Daily Catch featuring aji nuoc cham, lemongrass, ginger, and crispy noodles Everything was incredibly fresh, creative, and packed with bold, unexpected fusion flavors. It's hard to put into words the depth of these flavors and how beautifully they layer together. The chef masterfully combines ingredients and techniques from various cuisines, including Peruvian, Thai, Chinese, and more, to create dishes that feel like a culinary journey. The wine suggested was also really good. This dining experience was like walking through a food museum--stimulating all the senses with its taste, aroma, and stunning presentation. I came here to celebrate my birthday and unfortunately, they fell short in every possible category. The layout is a major issue. We paid the $10 per person fee for the piano room, only to be squeezed in elbow-to-elbow with strangers. The tables are so tiny I literally had to eat out of my lap to avoid spilling food on my clothes. Even the basic facilities were a struggle; the women's bathroom was so cramped and unaccommodating that I could barely even sit down. When we asked to move to a more comfortable space, the hostess and waitress refused, citing nearby reservations. The kitchen and service were equally disappointing. After waiting over an hour for our entrees, the food arrived mediocre and tasteless. The steak had zero seasoning, and the mashed potatoes were dry and flavorless--essentially just a boiled potato thrown on a plate. The service was the final straw. When I tried to flag down a server to send the potatoes back, he told me he would "get her." When our waitress finally arrived, I explained the issue and she simply replied, "I know." No apology, no offer to bring something else, and no effort to make it right. To be met with that level of rudeness on my birthday was shocking. This was a complete waste of time and money--I won't be returning.
