I checked this shop out based on a friend's recommendation and I'm so happy that I did! This shop is a stitcher's dream come true. There were rows upon rows of all different types of cross stitch kits, patterns, books, trinkets, supplies, and more. When I first arrived, it was semi busy so I just wondered around looking at all the goodies. Luckily, it died down and I had the complete attention of the Saturday staff, Cindy and Christine (not sure of her name). They were very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful; especially when I was trying to decide on the fabric and threads to go with the kits I bought. These ladies were amazing! It had been a long time that I have cross stitched and they worked with my budget and the prices seemed reasonable. They also hold classes. The best place in denver for all your cross stitching needs! They have thousands of designs for purchase, any color/brand of thread you need, and classes for those wanting to learn! The team likes to great you when you walk in and help you along the way (grabbing fabric, gathering thread, whatever you need!) some people can view that as too much but they really just want to help make your experience there easy. Their technology (website/purchasing/computer) is pretty old school so comes with its own hardships. But the staff is well educated (and all have their own strong opinions about things) but they are so helpful and kind. Small parking lot that they share with the auto shop next door. First, this is NOT a quilting shop. Not sure why it comes up on a Yelp search for "quilting shops near me." This shop sells embroidery floss and various other needlework items listed in the description. I was looking for sewing thread but the website wasn't working properly, so I sent an email. Response was super quick, almost immediate! Turns out, they do NOT sell sewing thread. I don't believe they sell fabrics, either (I have not visited the shop since I was looking for sewing supplies, not needlework supplies.) The email responses were super fast and courteous, so it seems it's a good place to work with, IF you're looking for embroidery and related items. read more

The Stitching Shop is a wonderful store to visit if you are interested in hand work projects. Incredible amount of projects to select from. Staff were so helpful. I have an interest in learning how to hand embroidery. They helped me put together a beginner kit that will be perfect. Also, they will be offering classes in the spring. I ordered a kit recently and received an email confirming my order. Then, nothing! I finally called to ask about it and the woman answering the phone said that they had it in stock. When I asked whether it had been shipped, she said "no". After I asked when it would be shipped, she said that she would send the order to the shipping department. The next day I received an email confirming that it was shipped, but without any tracking info. After several days I called again to ask about delivery and she said that they had sent an email with tracking info. I never received it. I checked the spam folder and it was not there either. I then recalled that I had previously ordered from this store and had the same experience. The woman I spoke with sounded annoyed that I actually wanted the item shipped! This store does not know how to run an online business. With all of the well run online businesses why order from a store that does not ship the product unless you call to request that they actually send it! read more

Horrible service! I was making a phone call in my car for not even more then 5 minutes when an employee came knocking on my window asking why I'm parked here it's private property. Once I told her I was coming in her attitude changed. I went in and every where I would go they would follow me I couldn't shop in peace. Thennnn when it came time to paying tell me why it was only $2.99 and they asked for my whole information address, full name and phone number I've never been to a place that asks that much much information just for $2.99??!! read more

The ladies who helped me were friendly and found me just what I needed. They have full stock of various fibers so there is no need to waste your time at a big box. Wow. Having been distracted from cross stitch and embroidery by knitting for a few years, it was wonderful to return to this shop. It's even better than I remembered. Great selections of patterns, threads and endless accoutrements to stitching on canvas. It was so fun to ogle over all of it. The staff was delightfully helpful to boot. Wonderful place! We were treated like old friends as soon as we arrived. We were given a tour of everything and then allowed some time to look things over without feeling pressure to purchase anything. I made an online order through Kreinik, and opted to call in my payment directly to the store, rather than make a payment with PayPal. When I called, I expressed my worry about the threads I ordered not being available for a while; and the owner literally walked through the store with me on the phone, and pulled all the threads I ordered. About 2 hours later I received an email notice that not only had my package been set to be shipped, BUT IT HAD ALREADY BEEN PICKED UP. I will never go to another shop for my specialty thread needs. She is incredibly well stocked, and extremely professional. The previous shop I ordered from took 6 weeks to ship my package, and was only able to get 2 of the 8 threads I ordered. My friend and I were visiting from Texas, a friend who actually lives in Littleton. She had spoken about her wonderful stitching shop, but WOW, WOW, WOW, were we in for the greatest treat EVER! The store is magnificent! The organization of the store is beyond any I've ever seen. The selection is phenominal. The employees and owner were superb. This review is BEYOND 6 stars, but that's as high of an option as I'm given. You won't be disappointed. Guaranteed! Can wait to go back again! Oh, we asked for a recommendation for someplace to eat. I was visiting Denver and like to check out stitching and embroidery stores. I wasn't expecting much, but found an amazing store. They have a great inventory of patterns and kits in a wide variety of stitching including cross stitch, canvas work, and many types of embroidery. What really amazed me was the depth and organization of the threads they stock. They had every type I've ever used and all the different colors. Really impressive! The staff was also lovely, quick to come and offer help but happy to let you browse and explore. read more

Ok, so I am new to needlepoint. A group of friends forced me to start a needlepoint project while we we were traveling together and I have to admit, there is something about "stitching and chatting" that brings the ladies together like a clutch of hens.. I finished my forced project and when I was done I realized- Hey, that was fun- I need another!! Easier said than done! The big boys like Michaels in Denver have dumped Needlepoint. A kit I bought at Hobby Lobby had crappy thread and the canvas looked like the shroud of Turin. British Boyfriend did some research, found the Stitching Shop and drove me out there! This shop is huge and had the things I was looking for: stretcher bars in every size, tons and tons -aisles and aisles of quality thread, fun kits piled high and super enthusiastic service!! With their help, I put together a number of projects and they even will be ordering and shipping a few future projects to me. I am thrilled by this shop! Way to go Stitching Shop!! read more

This shop is awesome! They have thousands of patterns to choose from in all different styles and the threads are always well stocked. I have taken two classes here and both were taught from instructors who were knowledgeable and had patience. Christine and Suzy are always friendly, helpful, and willing to answer questions. I loved this shop before, but today increased my admiration even more. I had a stitching emergency this morning when I suddenly realized I had all DMC threads instead of Gentle Arts threads for a very long project I was starting . Even though Christine was closed today, she was at the store and let me come in to get the correct threads. I am so thankful to have such an amazing store so close to home, because that's the kind of service you can't get over the internet! read more

Oh my gosh! THE most amazing selections of any fiber on earth. I even found alpaca threads for a special project. The staff is absolutely amazing. Unlike another shop in Denver, I don't feel like a third class citizen here and I'm not being judged by anyone when I walk in the door. Visiting Colorado from Washington DC I was thrilled to find A Stitching Shop. What a lovely surprise - the shop is large and just stuffed with the most interesting and high quality stitching supplies. It appears they stock threads, beads and fabrics for most all types of handwork including cross stitch, Brazilian embroidery, embroidery, and needlepoint. They also carry wonderful stitch magazines and books on all needlework topics. The shop owner and one employee I met couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. OH MY GOSH. I have never seen so much well organized sewing and embroidery threads in my life that are as well organized as the Stitching Store. The thread color collection in the usual big box stores (Joann's, Hobby Lobby) do not even hold a candle compared to Stitching Store! Nice selection of high end needles! I have discovered the Japanese brand of needle called tulip and was impressed. Sizeable collection of embroidery kits as well as embroidery patterns. The staff at the store are very much needle arts enthusiasts. As of July 2018, the store is located me a light blue metal sided building with a rough hewn fence in front. I think if you like needle pointing, this store is worth the trip. read more

Also my card information was stollen and I was charged hundreds of dollars at a store I had never heard of. A Stitching Shop was my only new charge for my card so my assumption is someone on their staff stole my information. Don't spend your money here. read more

They have Lecien Cosmo embroidery floss! In every single color! And lots of each! SCORE! I tracked this store down from the Lecien website and they appear to be the only local store that carries it. Cosmo floss is even hard to find in stock ONLINE, and usually only at quilt shops. So if you want Cosmo it is worth the drive to make it out to this little store. Just put it in your GPS and keep going till you find it -- the store was added on to a machine shop so it doesn't look like you would expect. But once you get in, they may need to buzz you in for security reasons, its worth it because they have a great stock of stitching supplies. Not so much a boutique-y cute have a coffee and browse type of place, but great to get supplies. The owner was very friendly and helpful as well. read more

I was so excited to find this needlework shop. The owner is extremely helpful and extremely experienced and knowledgeable about all the different kinds of threads. She truly has a love for Needlework arts and is happy to help you with which ever type you are interested in. But the store! The store is amazing! Beautiful threads beautiful supplies beautiful canvases and products to work with! And they are all incredibly priced and MUCH better than many of the other shops in Denver. Additionally the owner is the only certified Brazilian embroidery instructor in Denver and I believe in all of Colorado. One of the best Stitching Shops Ever! Seriously! This is the most square footage I've ever seen devoted to stitching, an absolute pleasure to shop in a well organized/displayed shop. The owner and staff heartily welcomed me to the shop and gave me a tour (because it's really that big). I literally felt like a kid in a candy store! I learned that they were a full service shop, they'll serge your fabrics, they have connections to a great "finisher" (for those that don't enjoy that). The fabric and pattern selection is so nice.
