I walk into a huge collection of beautiful and colorful fabrics from well known designers and brands. To the right side, I walked into another huge area with a vast array of high quality fabrics. It was so hard to choose! Besides fabrics, there was walls with quilt supplies and books. They host classes and have a long arm on site to quilt the backing. The walls and shelves displayed many of their products. Unfortunately, some of the fabrics featured were no longer were available though the instructions were. I even offered to buy the display but that was not possible. I went on a week day so street parking was possible. The owners were helpful and knowledgeable and clearly take pride in their shop. The fabric prices were typical of quilt shops and there were some sales. This shop is on my favorite list and I look forward to coming back soon.

Self-service check out in this zoom world that we live in stops us from having genuine human connections which I feel are important. I worked 12 hours and then I spent a lot of money on stickers, but it was really nice to stop and have a human moment with Peggy. All of the stress that I had today is gone because we just had a lovely chat. I really hope this goes into consideration when it's time to look at compensation and raises because Peggy deserves the world. Thank you Micheal's if I can upload the finished craft I will later, take care

Hands down THE destination for spinners (and all fiber artists!) in Denver. I recently bought my first wheel there, and Karen gave me wonderful advice and guidance in choosing the right wheel for me. She even worked with me to find a time we could meet with my work schedule, and stayed late when the store was closing to help me! I'm completely satisfied (thrilled even) with my purchase and thankful to have such an asset nearby to help with spinning. If you're looking to purchase a new wheel, they have a big stock, good prices, and really know their stuff! Karen also raises award winning alpacas and sells their fiber at the shop. They have GORGEOUS alpaca fiber, as well as just about every other kind of fiber you could think of, not to mention finished yarn, both handspun and commercial, as well as knitting, crochet, and weaving supplies, all kinds of spinning supplies, and wheel accessories and attachments. It's a lot of great stuff packed into a small space! Blazing Star is a must-visit if you're in the area and into fiber arts- I'll definitely be back again and again.

The large signs are all for the shaver/vacuum business, so look for the north door that says, "Blazing Star Ranch." The genesis of the business is the ranch in Elizabeth, Colorado where the owners have a herd of 60+ prize-winning alpacas. Much of the wool in the shop comes from this herd, but the owners seek out and represent other local and international craft yarn producers and dyers. Things are a little disorganized and the inventory is limited, but the yarns and raw wools are very unique and interesting. The shop also sells and services equipment for spinning and weaving and offers a roster of intensive classes. This is a very unusual shop, even for the yarn business. Don't let the strange location put you off. This is a great resource for anyone interested in quality yarn or spinning and weaving. Tours of the ranch are offered if you would like to meet the alpacas.

Proofs were sent back with spelling errors - words like "Parker" and "Wedding" were wrong. When requests were (grudgingly) fulfilled for new proofs, we found new spelling and grammar errors. The finished product looked fine, until we dug down a few items into the delivery and noticed missing lines on our "tear off" style RSVP cards - come to find out, the top ten or so cards had the missing line hand drawn in with a ruler and colored pen. The rest of the cards we had to fix ourselves. We felt that proofs should be for checking to make sure the layout and color choices looked good, not for proofreading spelling errors and finding duplicate phone numbers, especially when we had supplied the correct spelling, phone numbers, and sentence structure in word documents. We also felt for the price, the product delivered should be flawless, or that at the very least, errors should have been corrected. The entire process was more stressful than it should have been. Absent some major improvements in basic business practices, we would recommend couples interested in a smooth experience securing what seems to us to be a relatively straightforward product look elsewhere. We were very excited when we initially met with Felicity and saw her work…read more We became less and less happy after we signed the contract. Communication became difficult--we had to contact her several times because of an error on the website through which she accepts payments. Turn around on email became very long. The day before the wedding, she contacted the bride directly to inform her that she was not going to arrive at the venue in time to get the entire set up completed prior to the wedding time. That caused and amazing amount of stress for an otherwise happy bride. She did indeed arrive at the venue approximately 1 hour prior to the actual wedding which caused some difficulty with getting photographs completed in accordance with our timelines. Frankly, our biggest disappointment was the execution of the flowers. Our contract/proposal made specific references to paper flowers in multiple arrangements. We did not have any paper flowers at all--those were meant to be remembrance flowers for the bride and her grandmothers. By the time we realized there was not a single paper flower, Felicity had left the venue -- and to bring it up would be to cause the bride excessive stress--and honestly, at that point, we were focused on having a happy day in spite of a less-than-enthusiastic florist who showed up very late. Felicity is young. Her business practices are fairly immature. She needs to pay much more attention to detail and adhere to the agreements she makes. It is never ok to change those on less than a day's notice for a bride. Get everything in writing. Ensure that there is a penalty clause if she does not deliver exactly what you ask for.

Kidding aside, the only downside I would think is that they know they have a monopoly in the area and the prices show it. The Ugly Truth: The selection of corsets is nice and the staff was very helpful in finding just the right one for my wife. She tried several of them on and found one that fit her needs. I would love to say we'll be back but we're not in Denver that often to stop in. A real positive is that the staff is eager to help and makes you feel very welcome. The downside is the pricing, but Denver is a more expensive city then most in this part of the country anyway so I understand.
